Epilogue

Six Months Later

Lara leaned against the fireplace mantle, surveying the room. The office Peter and Fischer Weston shared at Dark Desires had been completely transformed since the day her entire life had done a one-eighty six months ago. That day she’d been interviewed for a nanny position by her boss—a job she’d gotten, but never performed. Cameron and Cecelia Barnes insisted she had indeed lived up to her obligation, but that was just smoke and mirrors in Lara’s opinion. Good God Gertie, babysitting for a few hours on two different evenings so your boss could play at the club did not qualify you as a nanny. And those two evenings playing with the cutest little girl Lara had ever seen certainly didn’t merit the ridiculous sum of money they’d paid her. But when Lara had started to protest, her former boss had threatened to inform her Masters she was being insolent and then sit back and enjoy watching her punishment.
The rat bastard would have done it too. I don’t care how much everyone says he’s mellowed, I saw the old Master C—eyes flashing
fire and pure male
dominance
.

She had finally relented, but she’d happily joined forces with Tobi and Gracie when they’d been tasked with organizing the Barnes and Phillips commitment ceremony. She couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining pair of co-conspirators, they’d made so many FaceTime calls Lara had to add time to her cell plan, but being able to torture Master C with trivial details had made the expense worth every cent.

Pulling back the heavy drapery covering the window that looked down into the club’s main room, she couldn’t hold back her smile. How Tobi and Gracie had managed to transform a room filled with BDSM equipment into what now resembled an English garden with a side of kink was a mystery for the ages. When she felt a strong arm encircle her waist she squeaked in surprise, she knew in an instant it was Peter. Even though he claimed to have spent most of his time as a SEAL supplying the teams with information, she wasn’t buying it—the man moved like a ghost. Tobi and Gracie had laughed when Lara had complained about getting caught grumbling to herself behind his back. Both women had assured her it was just one of the curses of dealing with former operatives, and then proceeded to recount some of their own mistakes. Lara had ended up laughing so hard she’d been mopping tears from her eyes.

“Penny for your thoughts, precious. Care to share what’s put that Mona Lisa smile on your sweet lips?” Peter’s sweet words moved over the shell of her ear leaving behind heat far more intense than the warmth of his breath. They had all three been so exhausted each night the past week by the time they’d returned to the penthouse, they’d barely had the energy to shower before falling face first into bed and her body was beginning to protest the lack of attention. But after tonight’s ceremony, Lara intended to have her wicked way with her Masters, even if it meant getting a few swats beforehand.

“My love, you know even though I can’t hear your thoughts clearly that doesn’t mean I’m not getting very strong emotions. Anytime we are skin to skin I’m gifted with awareness of what you are feeling, and right now I’m feeling a bit neglected.” She couldn’t hold back her gasp of surprise,
damn it all to dirty dominos. How did he know?
When she’d met his grandmother, the older woman had warned her that as their bond grew, both men’s abilities to “read her” would probably strengthen as well, but she’d shrugged it off as something to worry about a few years into the future rather than just a couple of months.
Frack a big friggin’ frog.

Peter moved so quickly she barely had time to register the movement before she felt two heated swats on her thinly covered ass. The dress they’d chosen for her to wear was made of midnight blue silk and was the most comfortable thing she’d ever worn—except for the fact it was cut to her naval in the front and to the dimples at the top of her ass in the back. When she’d asked how she was supposed to keep her breasts from making a sudden appearance both men had simply shrugged. She was guessing they wouldn’t be too happy about the double stick tape she’d used to secure the edges. Lara quickly banished those thoughts hoping Peter hadn’t picked them up.

“I was looking down over the room and couldn’t help but grin at the way Tobi and Gracie have managed to change the entire feel of the room. They didn’t really move any of the equipment out or hide it from view, they just added so many softer elements that your eyes don’t focus on the black leather, hanging chains, and wooden St. Andrew’s Crosses.” She snickered when she realized everything was still in plain sight, just camouflaged.

Peter’s chuckle vibrated his chest against her bare back and she felt her pussy flood with liquid need. “Well, suffice to say, Cam and Carl are worried they’re going to both have—and I quote, ‘floral induced seizures’ before the ceremony is over. Kent laughed, blaming Cam for letting the two defiant subs know he wasn’t a big fan of roses.” Lara laughed because she knew that was exactly why the two women had ordered thousands of flowers as decorations. “Did you know we had to send a truck to the airport this morning to get the last
shipment
? I shudder to think what kind of bill they’ll be presenting him with.” Lara knew but she wasn’t going to cop to it, and she fully intended to make herself scarce before her two friends dropped
th
at
bomb. It wasn’t that he couldn’t afford it, but she was fairly certain Master Cam was going to play along just the same because truthfully, both women would be terribly disappointed if he didn’t kick up a big fuss.

Peter squeezed her tightly before nuzzling her neck, “Don’t worry, Carl has already briefed Cam on the importance of acting annoyed, even though my brother swears neither Tobi nor her band of pirates could have done anything to spoil his mood today.” Lara giggled, she’d forgotten that Tobi’s mother-in-law, Lilly West, had joined in on most of the planning sessions. And talk about a pirate, holy hell, Lilly was a wild child despite being almost sixty years old. Tobi swore that every woman who knew Lilly wanted to “be her” when they grew up, and Lara was sure it was true.

Lara heard the door open just before Fischer spoke, “Hey, stop pawing her, she’s got to look perfect for the ceremony.”

“Leave it to Mr. Fashion Statement to care more about wrinkling your dress than getting a chance to feel your softness under his fingertips. Your spa days are worth their weight in gold, my beautiful
amore
.” Regular visits to the club’s spa had been one of the first
rules
they’d put in place for her. Lara was sure that it had started out as a way for them to teach her the importance of taking care of what belonged to them, but they had never made any secret of how much they enjoyed the benefits as well.

“Come on you two, our guests are arriving and the sooner we get this show on the road the sooner we can go home and play. Personally, I can hardly wait to give our sweet cupcake a paddling for trying to use tape to keep her breasts concealed from our view.” Both men chuckled at her surprised gasp.

Well, fuckity fuck, how did they know?
The thoughts had no more than moved through her mind than both men burst out laughing as they escorted her out of the room.

Excerpt from Jody’s Men

By Lynn Ray Lewis

John Milton watched as she walked past him again. The few times Jody Branch allowed her eyes to be caught by his had her blushing and hurrying on to other customers.

John sat at his table in the corner of the bar and pulled his gaze back to the man and woman in front of him. They were pitiful excuses for human beings, who were about to have their pitiful asses out on the street unless they paid him back for the money he’d loaned them—tonight. The loan had come due six months ago, and he’d already taken the title to the property back into his name three months ago. From the looks of the almost full to capacity bar, there should be no reason for them to be defaulting on the substantial loan to begin with. Harold had begged for leniency and understanding, so he had caved and allowed them to keep running the bar until business got better, and instead of renting, they would again be able to purchase the place.

The number one reason, hell if he was honest, the only reason he had allowed himself to act so dumb was laid squarely on the shoulders of the girl that was still running back and forth to the kitchen and bar. This was their last chance, his kindness ended tonight if they refused to accept his last offer. The girl was becoming an obsession with him, and he was doing his best not to hurt her. She had been protective of them the last time he came looking for Harold and DeeDee, this time they were out in the open when he came into the bar. Jody looked too stressed out to care who saw what at the moment, as she bussed tables and said goodnight to the people as they left the building.

“Now, I have a dilemma here, I can let you keep lying to me and let you think you are getting away with it, I can toss your asses out tonight or I can give you until morning to get out of my building. How you answer and what your answer is will make my decision easier.” He eyed the haggard looking woman with the sunken cheeks and rotting teeth first. Last year she had looked healthy and vibrant, ready to take on the challenge of starting a new business and eager to make it work. Now Dee Dee Branch had the appearance of a crack whore. Her entire body was moving and twitching around.

Harold Branch looked like he couldn’t be bothered to listen or talk. He was zoned out, nodding his head and tapping his thumbs on his thighs in tune to some invisible music heard only in his own mind.

John had seen enough to know they were no help to themselves, let alone competent to run a thriving business like this. At least now he was certain where the mortgage money was going, right up their noses and in the thin veined arms that DeeDee had stretched out on the table. The needle tracks were there and she was so high she didn’t try to hide them from his sight.

He looked around the room, several people still gathered in groups; some were shooting darts and a few rough looking types were playing pool and harassing the women sitting at a table close enough for the women to flirt with the players, yet not get in the way of the pool cue sticks. A jukebox sat near the back of the room with a small square of a wooden dance floor. The décor was eclectic to say the least and John hated to close the place.

He spied Jody running from the kitchen with a large tray of deep fried breaded something and watched as she kept the tray high on one hand while grabbing a pitcher and drawing it full of beer with almost no foamy head.
The girl has talent
. She wound her way through the tables and set the beer down on the table that six laughing twenty something’s occupied, started handing out plastic baskets, moving around the table, and having a wide smile for those that said thank you.

He sat with her parents and watched the girl move from table to bar and kitchen. He especially enjoyed watching her stride past and the way her wide hips swayed. He loved this woman’s anatomy, breasts nice and plump and a wide ass like hers were one of his many kinks. Her hair was shiny light brown and thick, even scraped back from her rounded shoulders. He knew it would be beautiful loose and spread out on a pillow, or wrapped in his fist, as he slammed his cock inside her pussy or her tight asshole. Speculating as to whether her ass was virgin had his cock stirring to life and he had to adjust his slacks to make room for his hardening appendage.

John sat waiting for last call, knowing Jody would need time to clear the place out before he talked to her. DeeDee was now pulling at her hair and picking her fingernails while tears trailed down the open sores on her cheeks. Harold seemed to have fallen asleep with his eyes open.

Jody locked the front door to the bar and wearily went to the kitchen to fix her parents' sandwiches. She was so hungry that it was a miracle she hadn’t scarfed down a burger way before now. The reason she hadn’t taken a break all night was sitting at the back table. Well, that, and the fact she was a one woman show around the bar nowadays.

Excerpt from Jaxson

Island Warriors Book One

By Kris Keldaran

Several feet away in the kitchen, Pua looked over at Kehau and Jax talking and smiled.

“They’re trying too hard.”

“At what?” Carli asked, filling the sink with hot water and soap.

“Acting like they’re not interested in each other?”

“Oh?”

“He’s only had eyes for her since he got here. Yeah, he looked us over. But he wants Kehau. And she can’t stop checking him out either.”

“He is an impressive specimen,” Carli said appreciatively.

“I won’t argue that. But Kehau sees him as a protector. She was getting hurt, and he saved her.”

“So you think that’s all this is? An infatuation with a rescuer?”

Pua shook her head. “No. But it’s up to him to ask her.” She looked outside once more. “Kehau’s got a clashing personality. She likes being submissive to men with authority and power, but it has to be on her terms. That’s part of why she and Sione broke up, he wouldn’t let her be herself.”

“You think Jax will?”

“Don’t know. He’s hard to read. Except when he’s mad. Then it’s obvious. He wants you to know he’s mad. He wants to put the fear of God in you. Remember when Sione stabbed him at the gym?”

“Yeah, and he kept fighting. I didn’t get it. Paper cut and I’m done.”

“He was so mad he didn’t feel the knife. He was still mad when he pulled it out. Didn't slow him down at all.”

“That's kinda scary,” Carli admitted.

“But he’s not insane either. Look at him. Totally in control.”

“So what is he?”

“Not somebody I want pissed at me. And we’re not letting him play poker with us.”

Eventually, Pua and Carli left to take care of errands, leaving Jax and Kehau sitting on the soaking up the sun, deep in conversation. Neither seemed to notice that they were totally alone.
