“Don't follow my ass!” I said and moved over to where my weapon was hung in its holster. The sounds of near fighting flowed in louder to my ears as Bolan leaped up and out. I moved up the stairs, my good side first, gun up, hearing the whine of his stun weapon and cries of men.
“What the Hell!?” came a man’s voice. It sounded like Korgie. Then I heard a laugh.
“We have you and your Tulian, Korgie. I knew there was a reason you were staying near this homestead. Once you are gone, more of your men will come over to Candlcorp and we will win this war!” There was silence except for the shuffling of feet and then that stopped. It was my turn to take a few breaths.
Think this through
, I whispered to myself, breathing nervously. The answer came back.
No time for that
.
I jumped up the last stairs into the open. As soon as I cleared the doorway it silently closed behind me. One man was holding a very large rifle pointed at Korgie and Bolan, who were side by side ten feet in front of me. Bolan's weapon was on the ground and his arm was injured. Korgie looked unarmed. A Candlcorp man was standing with his back to me. He saw the startled look on Korgie's face and began to turn so I fired my weapon.
It made a huge explosive sound and my arm swung up over my head with the force. The concussion from the gun caused a biting pain to briefly shoot through my injured shoulder as the Candlcorp man spun from the impact and hit the ground screaming. It looked like I had blown his shoulder off. I had been aiming for his legs.

Sitting on my porch with Bella two weeks later, things were getting back to normal, in a sense. My crops had been damaged, and my bees were all out of sorts, so I was going to have to start anew next spring. The Federation was compensating those who had received damage from the whole affair, so I would survive.
“So how come you did not ever tell me you had a secret place out back?” Bella asked suddenly. I smiled at her.
“How come you never told me that Bobby built a safe house in your backyard?” I had been surprised to learn that. Although with Bobby’s regular paranoia, I shouldn't have been. She smiled slightly.
“You didn't tell me you had a Tulian suspect in your house!” she said. I smiled.
“You told me on the vid-communicator we did not know who was listening,” I said. She smiled again.
“Are you happy Amanda?” she said. I smiled really big for her. I couldn't help it.
“I am, you?” I returned. She smiled too.
“Yes. It all ended well so far,” she answered. Bolan and Bobby came out of the house.
“What do you mean, “so far” Bella? Don't be pessimistic. Everything is going to be fine.” Bobby said cheerfully. That cracked me up and I started laughing. Bella joined me and eventually the two men did two. Bobby had become good friends with Bolan after he shared some shield and screen knowledge with him.
Bella got up to leave. We all said our goodbyes, and Bolan and I watched them get in their wagon and head home. Their property had received more damage from the drones than mine had so they were overseeing the repairs.
I leaned up against Bolan, content. My arm had replacement parts in the shoulder and was almost one hundred percent again, thanks to military doctors. Those injured had all been taken care of by a very abashed military. There was going to be compensation to go around. I was amazed at how things worked out so well after it all went to hell so fast.
Parson was being left to the Tulians, or as much of it as they wanted. It was mostly a corporation planet, and in the war the corporations had overreached and lost all power. Bolan had talked to his brother, who was well. And for the first time in my life I met a man’s parents. Bolan’s mom and dad visited, and apparently liked me. They gave their blessing to their son and me.
As for my mom and dad. I planned on sending them cards after the wedding. Their ties to Candlcorp were causing them plenty of grief, but I could not bring myself to care. That was their life, and I had mine.
The farm was quiet. It was the first time Bolan and I had been completely alone since I had got my shoulder fixed. So I was not surprised, and was even eager to hear what Bolan said next.
“So...ah...how is the shoulder Starling?” he said. I smiled. I knew where he was headed.
“I think it needs some exercise Bolan. Are you
up
for it?” He laughed.
“You are about to find out!” he said. I shrieked as he scooped me up in his arms and carried me back into the house. We began kissing before we got halfway to the bedroom. He may not have been a kisser before he met me, but he was a fast learner. He lay me down on the bed. I pulled him down on top of me, then rolled him over so I was on top. I sat up, straddling his hips, and began undoing my blouse. He smiled up at me.
“I love you Amanda Starling.” I paused at the tenderness and love in his voice hoping he could hear the same in mine.
“I love you too Bolan the Tulian.”
I finished undressing my top half. He reached for my breasts as I bent and went to work on his clothes. I arched my back as his lips touched my nipple. I moaned at the arousal it caused. We had waited a long time and we were both very ready. It was not long before we were naked and exploring every inch of each other. Tulians were built along the same lines as humans, so everything was were I could find it.
His hand reached to my moist place of urges and I gasped and groaned when his questing fingers stroked the right place causing a brief but powerful orgasm to shake me. Gasping I reached between my legs to between his legs and felt his hard member swelling even bigger. There was a difference between humans and Tulians after all, I thought, because he continued to grow a bit further than I had expected. Nothing I could not handle though and I lifted myself up, unable to wait. I needed to feel him within my deep yearnings. As he entered me we both cried out in a shared joy and resounding pleasure that shook us as wave after wave of pleasure seemed to engulf us, until we collapsed next to each other panting and trying to get our breath back.
Once we did, we lay next to each other comfortably. Wow, I thought, that was amazing. You always hear that sex is better when it is love and I had just found that out.
“Love is a good place to be,” he said softly. I agreed and hugged him.
“Hm Bolan, we have all day and no one is expected."
“Yes,” he said. I smiled.
“So, uh, how long do you think before you might be ready to do that again?”
I shrieked as he rolled over to straddle me with a grin. I could feel his member beginning to swell again against my thigh.
“With you Starling? Whenever you want!” This was going to be a fun day, I decided as I reached for him above me.
