Reaching out, he grabbed her hand and brushed his mouth over her knuckles. “Welcome to our world, Ms. August. Thorsten is very lucky to have a beautiful woman like you,” he whispered, then vanished.

Raya held her hand out for a few more seconds then dropped it before spinning around. She found Thorsten, Zander, Sabrina and Sahara all staring at her with wide eyes. “Who in the world was he?” she asked, a little breathless.

Coming to her, Thorsten pulled her into his arms. “Talon J’adore. He’s one of the most powerful vampires out there. He has been around longer than Jax or Zander, and I think you just made a friend of him.”

“He saved my life. I thought Cordelia was going to kill me. I tried fighting her, but she just got on me too fast.”

“Talon wouldn’t have ever let his daughter hurt you. He believes in respect for all people, including ones who aren’t immortal. All I have to say is that if he ever needs my help I’ll be there for him because he saved you. I couldn’t live if Cordelia took you from me.”

Hearing the fear in her mate’s voice, Raya took a step back and stared up into his worried eyes. Reaching up, she ran her hands down the sides of his handsome face before pulling it closer until their lips were inches apart.

“Don’t worry about anything
ever
happening to me, because I wouldn’t have accepted you as my mate if I planned on going anywhere in the near future. You promised me forever—”

“And it is what you will get,” Thorsten finished right before he kissed her.
