"You're hitting it hard tonight Amy." Pearl stated
as she sipped her drink.
"I've had a day of it to be honest. What with seeing James with his kids
and Blake coming back on the scene my head's all over the place."
"And you think a vodka and orange is going to solve that?"
"No but tonight it will help me forget and I can deal with everything in
the morning."
"The way you're knocking them back I doubt you'll see the morning!"
"Well that's the plan." I said winking at her as she giggled. I could
feel myself slowly becoming more intoxicated throughout the evening but I just
wanted to forget about Blake and James and have some fun. The problem I had
though was the more I drank, the more I wanted to talk to James but I didn't
know what to say. The likelihood was that those two children were his, and he
had hidden that fact from me during the time we'd been dating. It wasn't a
little white lie, this was a massive thing especially in the light of my
situation in not being able to have children. I appreciate that in the early
stages of a relationship you don't want to introduce your children to your new
partner just in case things don't work out but you at least let that person
know that you have children. Yet again, I had so many questions and I was
holding back from blurting things out but I could slowly feel that the alcohol
was making me brave.

"You've been twirling that phone around in your hand
for the last hour, what's going on?"
I held up the phone to show Pearl the number of missed calls and messages James
had sent me this evening and immediately saw her confused expression.
"What?"
"I just don't understand Amy. If you like him and he likes you why would
you not want to speak to him?"
"I'm just trying to think of the right words to say."
Pearl sniggered, "No, you're just putting off the inevitable." I
rolled my eyes at her comment. "Well I'm right. Just bloody ask him if
they're his kids and then where you go with that is up to you but I really
can't see that being an issue."
I let out a loud sigh and sat back in my chair as my vision was becoming blurry.
I was always the voice of reason and dealt with other people's problems well
but when it came to my own I wasn't as head strong.
"I'm going to call him." I stated feeling a little brave from the
alcohol.
Pearl sniggered as she stood, "I'm going to get us some drinks and give
you some privacy."

I dialled James' number and he picked up on the second ring,
"I've been worried about you Ames, I nearly called Diesel."
"You don't need to worry about me, coz I ain't yours to worry about,"
I slurred.
"I'm assuming you've been drinking." He stated hesitantly.
"You're assuming right."
"Who are you with and where are you?" He asked slightly panicked.
"I'm in a bar with Pearl. Anyway I've phoned up to tell you off so stop
trying to confuse me."
"I'm just concerned about your welfare babe that's all."
"Well like I said, I'm not yours to worry about."
"Why do you keep saying that Ames because if you're not mine, you're
implying that you belong to someone else."
I sniggered, "Nope, no one else's but I'm not yours because you lied to
me."
"What have I possibly lied about Ames?" James asked confused.
"You have children!" The line went silent and I could hear my own
heart beat quicken in my chest as I prayed for me to be wrong but the longer I
waited for his response the more the realisation was setting in, that he had
two children and had hidden them from me.
I heard him let out a long sigh, "You're correct I do have children, two
fantastic children."
"So why didn't you tell me about them James?"
"I seriously don't know, the longer I left it the harder it became and
then you shared the information regarding your ordeal which made it more
difficult."
"I don't need you to pity me," I spat. "I just wanted you to be
honest."
"I can only apologise."
"Do and say what you like, I'm not bothered anymore." I hung up my
phone and placed it on silent. I knew that by ending the call, James would be
annoyed and he'd call me back but I wasn't in the mood to talk to him.

I sat in the booth and drained the last of the liquid from
my glass waiting for Pearl to return from the bar when a song that Blake and I
used to enjoy played sweetly through the speakers. I groaned as Steven Tyler's
sultry voice sang the song as it only reminded me of him but this evening was
about forgetting not reminiscing. I still had my phone in my hand and pondered
if I'd even be able to make contact with Blake should I want to. I should've
deleted his number years ago but I hadn't quite had the nerve and secretly
hoped that he'd make contact when he eventually calmed down after our
altercation but it never happened. I slid my finger across the screen and found
his number still programmed under 'Sex God' and sniggered as I pressed the
screen to dial his number before I talked myself out of it.

"Vixen? Is everything okay?"
"No, don't think that you can just turn back up here and worm yourself
back into my life. Five years is a long time Blake and I've moved on during
that time."
"Are you pissed?"
"No, I'm just merry." I sniggered.
"Who are you with?"
"What is it with you men? Do you think I'm in a pub by myself getting shit
faced?"
"I don't know that's why I'm asking."
"Well I'm fine. Anyway do you hear what I'm trying to say?" There was
no response and I slowly moved my iPhone away from my ear to look at the screen
to see that the call had been ended. He'd fucking hung up on me. I could feel
the rage build inside as I sat contemplating what to do next.
Should I call
him again to finish what I'd started or should I leave it and forget about the
whole situation?
I huffed as Pearl placed a large vodka and orange in front
of me and immediately decided to forget about Blake as I'd only antagonise him
further.

"So did you sort it out with James?"
I wrinkled my nose, "Of course I didn't!" I scoffed to a roar of
laughter from Pearl. We'd been friends for a while now and she knew full well
that I wouldn't be sorting anything out. I grasped the glass and lifted it to
my lips to take a quick swig, and let out a satisfying sigh as I felt the cold
liquid slide down my throat.
"We need to dance babe." Pearl said as she stood and made a grab for
my hand.
"Not to this bloody song I'm not."
"It's nearly finished, come on!" Pearl took my hand and led me
through the bar and over to the small dance floor in the corner of the room. A song
came on with a faster beat and we pranced around the dance floor acting like
fools but I didn't care, I needed a good time this evening. By the time the
song had ended I had tears trickling down my face and my jaw hurt through
laughing so much.
"Oh tune!" Pearl gyrated her hips to 'No Diggity' and I had to
oblige. She placed her hand lightly on my hip as we swayed and grinded to the
music giving the punters a good show.

"Can we join you?" I looked up to see a handsome
guy in his late twenties with a large smile on his face as he watched Pearl and
I dance provocatively.
"Sure!" Pearl answered quickly and released her hand so that she
could continue her grinding with the man.
His friend took me by the wrist and pulled me close, and although drunk I was a
little concerned about his close proximity. I enjoyed a flirt and a little
banter but something wasn't quite right with this guy and my hunch was
confirmed when he placed his hands on my lower back almost resting on my arse.
"Do you mind?" I asked raising my brow as I grabbed his wrists and
tried in vain to lift his hands higher so he wasn't cupping my behind. He
ignored me and gave an eerie wink as he pinched harder and pushed his groin
towards me. I panicked and looked towards Pearl but she was engrossed in her
new friend. I needed to speak up for myself but my head was starting to swirl
from the amount of alcohol I'd consumed. "Get off me!"
"Sorry darlin I can't hear you?" he chuckled.
"I said get off me."
"I don't think you really want that. Why don't we go outside for some
fresh air, you'll probably change your mind when we get out there." He
gave me another wink and started to walk me backwards from the dance floor.

Whack!
I watched in slow motion as the man slid across the dance floor taking out
another couple who were dancing unaware of the altercation. My mouth flew open
at the scene and I turned to see the perpetrator. I should have fucking known,
Blake was flexing his hand as he'd obviously hurt it from making contact with
the guys face and I shook my head in astonishment.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I screamed at the top of my
lungs. Blake drew his brows together and looked at me confused. "I said
what the fuck are you doing here?" I asked again this time taking a more
defensive stance.
"Have I missed something?" he asked confusing me further in my hazed
state although I was slowly sobering up from all of the excitement.
"What do you mean?"
"You drunk call me clearly upset so I race here breaking all kinds of laws
to find you being dragged from the pub by a man twice your size that you'd have
no chance of defending yourself against, and you ask me what I'm doing
here?" I widened my eyes coaxing him to continue. Blake let out a sigh,
"Because I care Vixen, I wanted to make sure that you're okay."
He stepped closer and tried to take my hands in his but I pulled away, "I
don't want this Blake." I stepped around him and made my way towards the
door when I was forcefully yanked backwards. I felt his arms wrap around my
waist before he picked me up and placed me on his shoulder. My head spun from
the quick movement and I tried to get my bearings as he strolled through the
pub with me held high. I felt him place his hand at the bottom of my dress
holding the material firm to conceal my modesty and the whole situation just felt
surreal.

"Blake put me down, I'm warning you." He continued
to ignore me and walked further into the pub to an empty booth. "Blake I
want to go home, put me down." He released his hold slightly and moved me
in front of him so that I had to slither down his body until my feet were on
the floor. He stepped forward trapping me in the booth leaving me nowhere else
to go apart from backwards onto the seat. I looked around my surrounding trying
to see if I could grab someone's attention but it was no use, no one would say
anything anyway because of the patch he wore.
"Now sit and let's talk about it like adults."
His words were like a red rag to a bull, "I don't want to be mature, I
want to ignore you and hopefully you'll just go away."
"Not happening Vixen, Duke asked me to come and replace Bear while he's
down in Kent. So I'm afraid you're stuck with me."
I could feel the heat build inside, I felt so let down by Mitchell that he
would ask Blake to come back. He didn't need to ask my permission, at the end
of the day I was only the VP's sister and my opinion didn't count for shit but
he knew things were difficult between us and the least he could've done was
inform me that he was coming back.
I screamed and still no one paid any attention as I stood onto the seat. I
could see that people were starting to feel uncomfortable about the situation
and move away so they were out of ear shot. I looked around for something, so I
could vent my anger and frustration regarding him keeping me here and glanced down
at the table to see some empty glasses left from the previous occupants of the
booth.
"No you don't Vixen." Blake shouted but I bent down and picked up
three glasses before he had time to take them away. I threw the first glass over
his head directly at the floor and felt a pang of excitement as I heard it
shatter. I then threw the second and the third glass in quick succession and
stood back with a smug expression but my little outburst hadn't fazed Blake. He
smirked as he folded his arms across his chest and simply raised his brows.
"I just want to talk, to explain why I left and hopefully we can get over
the past and move on."
"Blake, I'm not doing this. Not now, not never." I walked across the
bench towards him and tried to push past but he wrapped his arms around my
waist and pulled me in close so that his head rested on my stomach."We can
sort this out babe I know we can."

"Blake, give it a rest mate she's not interested."
I glanced down to see Mitchell standing with his arms folded across his chest,
he wasn't amused by what he saw.
"I'm only talking to her."
"And by the looks of things she doesn't want to be spoken to."
Mitchell glanced at Daryl, "Take him out of here."
"I don't need taking anywhere I can leave by myself." Blake stepped
back and straightened his jacket before turning his attention back to me,
"This isn't over Vixen, that's for sure." He spun around and stomped
from the building with Daryl in hot pursuit making sure he left.

I let out a low whistle and stepped from the bench.
"Where the fuck do you think you're going? Sit your arse down." I
raised my brows at Mitchell's outburst but did as I was told and shimmied onto
the bench.
"Mitch I've had enough tonight to be honest and just want to go
home."
"Don't you think I've had enough also? I was in bed with Ash but blew her
off to come and save your arse again."
"I didn't ask you too!"
"I know but I need to know you're safe."
"Has she got the hump with me?" I asked hoping that she understood.
"No, she understands but I can't keep on doing this Ames. You've gotta let
me know what's going on, I ain't stupid and I know there's something you're not
telling me."
I leaned back in the chair and sighed heavily. I had wanted to tell him so many
times over the years but hadn't through fear of retaliation and the fact that
he was mates with Blake. I looked into his caring eyes as he sat opposite
waiting for me to respond and I knew what I needed to do. I couldn't hide this
from him any longer, and deep down I knew that this may help a little more with
the healing process. It had been five long years since the incident but it
didn't mean that I didn't think about the what if's every single day.
