She
climbed out of the car, and when she looked over at the garage she could see a
shining black Harley that was all too familiar. She put the strap of her purse
over her shoulder and made her way over to the massive bay doors that were
open. The closer she got the louder the classic rock music became. And then she
saw him standing in front of a broken down motorcycle, and a couple of
prospects standing right beside him as they talked about engines and blocks.
She looked at the leather cut he wore, and the MC logo patch on the back that
showed the burning phoenix that was the emblem of The Brothers of Menace MC. As
if Dakota sensed her staring at him, he slowly turned around to face her.

“Well
holy fucking shit.” He grinned but didn’t make a move to come close to her.

He
looked good—masculine to the nth degree. He was only twenty-five, but he had
several days’ worth of dark beard growth on his cheeks and jaw that made him
look
more mature. He also looked just like his father,
Malice.

“Goddamn,
Alexis, you haven’t changed.” He grinned again and flashed
her
a
set of straight white teeth. “Well, not since I saw you a couple years
ago for that big ass Thanksgiving dinner at your folks’ house.

She
smiled and nodded. “You haven’t changed at all … well, I take that back.” Her
cheeks heated because she realized how that could have been construed. He
looked the same, but older, and his body was bigger and more muscular. Yeah, he
definitely took after his dad, but all of The Brothers were abnormally large
and strong for humans. She lifted her arm and pointed to his cut. “So you
finally patched in, huh?”

He
nodded. “Yeah, couple years ago. But The MC life was always for me.”

“Yeah,
I suppose it was.” That was pretty much the same thing for most of the Grizzly
kids. “What are you doing here if you’re a Brother?”

He
lifted a dark eyebrow. His hair was just as black, but short and disheveled
along his head. “Helping these guys restore this bike.”

“I
didn’t mean it like you shouldn’t be here.”

He
started laughing. “I know, I know.” They hadn’t spoken more than a handful of
times since the altercation he’d had with
Nico
all
those years ago at the graduation party, but she still considered him a friend.

“So,
big time college grad, huh?” He took a step closer to her and stopped. He
shoved his hands in the front pocket of his jeans. “Your old man said you’re
going to start managing the club finances.”

She
nodded.

“I
hope you’re ready for all that.” He wasn’t saying it in a joking manner.

Alexis
knew what he meant, knew that once she did the books she’d know where a lot—not
all of course—but a lot of where the club’s money came from. Most of it was
illegal funds, of that she wasn’t ignorant of, but this was her family, and she
didn’t judge. “I hope I am, too.”

Dakota
nodded. “Hey, maybe since you’ll be in town indefinitely we can get together
for lunch or something and catch up?”

“Sure,
but I’ll probably be busy for a little bit as I get settled in, and then with
Nico
—”

“He
can come along,” Dakota said and smiled. “Listen, that altercation four years
ago at the garage is behind us. We have both grown, and there isn’t any
animosity between us anymore.”

“So
you guys talk a lot?”
Nico
hadn’t mentioned Dakota
anytime he had visited her or when they had spent time together.

Dakota
shrugged. “Okay, the whole animosity and altercation thing isn’t really the
truth. I mean I am pretty sure he’s still pissed deep down, but he is kind of a
hardcore guy when it comes to you.” He smiled. “And rightly so, but I’m over
it. Why hang onto that shit when there isn’t a point?”

“Yeah,
I’ve told him that before, but you know how a Grizzly is.”

He
chuckled softly. “Yeah, I do. But I was serious about catching up. Aside from
the few times I saw you for holidays and shit, it’s been too fucking long since
we actually talked.” He stared at her, right in the eyes actually and said,
“Besides, I actually have someone I’m dating, and I’d like you to meet her.”

That
took her back a little.
“Really?”
She sure as hell
hadn’t meant to say it the way it came out.

“Yeah,
hard to believe, huh?”
He was chuckling.

“No,
of course not.
I just thought you were never going to get serious with anyone.” She shrugged.

“Alexis,
I think I said that when I was like sixteen and that bitch Sheila slept with my
friend.”

She
glanced down at the ground, thinking back to the time he was speaking of. Now
she remembered them actually talking about it, but right up until he mentioned
she had actually forgotten all about it. “God, I totally forgot that was the
reasoning behind that. All I could hear in my head was you saying that.”

“It’s
cool. That was a long ass time ago.” He grinned. “Besides, I value your
opinion. How many of the girls I dated did you tell me were no good?”

“A
lot.”
She said on a chuckle.

“And
how many were actually bad news?”

“All
of them.”

He
nodded. “Yeah, and even if we were only kids at the time you knew, or your bear
could scent out the bitch in them.” That had both of them laughing. “So,
anyway, I’ll let you get back to it. I’m sure the guys are anxious to see you.
Just hit me up if you want to do lunch sometime.” He turned and walked back
over to the bike.

She
turned away from Dakota and headed back toward the front of the clubhouse. When
she gripped the handle and opened the door, the sight before her didn’t
surprise her one bit. It was guys all around, playing pool, cards, getting
drunk, and even engaging in sexual acts with the club girls. But it was a sight
she had seen with members of The Grizzlies that hadn’t had old ladies. She
didn’t see her dad, but she did see Mason, Bodhi, and
Jakob
hanging around the pool table. Over the last year she had been wrapping up
things for graduation, but looking at the guys proved that they hadn’t changed
one bit. The most identifying thing about all of them was that they wore
Grizzly MC cuts.
Jakob
and Bodhi, brothers and only
two years apart in age, were Diesel’s sons and looked just like their father
with their shoulder length blond hair tied at the nape of their necks, and
their light blue eyes. They had probably already seen far too much in their
twenty-four and twenty-two years of age. But being in the MC meant the members
had to grow up fast. Mason, Court and Lilly’s only kid, took after his father
and mother with his green eyes and dark hair. Still in his early twenties he
was the oldest of The Grizzly MC children, and she knew there was talk about
him taking over as VP when Diesel actually stepped down. The stories that she
heard the other club members tell over the last four years told her that Mason
was a lot more hardened than any of the prospects of the other patched in
Grizzly offspring.

Curse
words and laughter filled the room, the lewd and obscene comments were plenty,
and the smell of weed and alcohol surrounded her.

“Dude,
all I’m saying is that I fucked her hard last night.” That was Bodhi speaking,
and he had a grin on his face as he bent over the table and cracked a pool ball
with his stick. “She was begging me to go slower, and then squealing for it
harder.”

Mason
and
Jakob
had their backs to her, but their laughter
and the fact their bodies were all but shaking in their amusement was evident.

“Man,
club pussy isn’t going to say no to a patched in member. You keep fucking Poppy
and she is going to latch onto you and think she is your old lady.”

Bodhi
stood and glared at them, but her position had her partially behind one wall so
he couldn’t see her. “Fuck
no,
I am not taking on an
old lady, let alone one that you jokers have stuck your dick in, too.”

Mason
took a step forward, grabbed the shot glass resting on the rim on the rim of
the pool table, and drank the liquor in one swallow.

“When
I get an old lady I don’t want her used up by the whole fucking club, including
my old man.”
Jakob
was the one to speak. The other
two guys grunted in agreement.

“That
might be hard if you stay in Steel Corner,” Alexis said, but she was only
teasing. The three of them turned around and glanced at her, and then they
grinned and came forward. They might all be around the same age, but they were
like big brothers to her. They all rushed forward and gave her these big bear
hugs.

“Well
shit, I thought you weren’t coming back home for another couple of days?” Mason
asked.

“I
wanted to surprise everyone,” she said and smiled. “Glad I didn’t walk in on
you guys doing a train on a new club girl.”

Bodhi
grunted. “Girl, we only do those on Saturdays,” he said, but was totally
kidding, and grinned to make that known.

They
talked for a few more minutes, and then, she headed over to the bar for some
water. The young woman behind the counter didn’t look much older than Alexis,
but the nasty scowl on her face, and the fact it was pointed right at Alexis,
told her that she didn’t think her joke had been very funny.

“Hope
you didn’t get offended by me busting their balls.” Alexis leaned on the
scarred bar counter and smiled, but the girl had a major stick up her ass. She
didn’t respond, and instead turned to put a bottle of whiskey on the shelf. Her
clothing told Alexis all she needed to know: the woman was club pussy for sure.
Alexis didn’t even bother asking for some water at that point, even though it
was clear serving whoever came to the bar was the girl’s job. But Alexis was in
too good a mood to bitch slap someone this early in the morning. And then she
heard this very high-pitched, giddy and slightly obnoxious female laugh coming
from the back of the clubhouse.

She
turned just her head and looked over her shoulder. This scantily clad woman,
maybe her age or a bit younger walked out from the back hallway. Even from the
distance Alexis could see how much make-up she had on. It was that facial
plaster that made the girl look like a bad and trashy version of a Barbie doll.
She also wore this outfit that made her look like a skanky country girl, what
with the gingham cropped top that she had knotted at her navel, and the front
button that she had undone. Hell, the top alone was low enough that her tits
were all but falling out. Alexis scanned her gaze up and down the club girl’s
body. The little jewel piercing in her belly button screamed “easy”, but Alexis
couldn’t even understand why. No, she knew why. The girl herself screamed slut
in the worst way, especially with the Daisy Duke shorts she wore that gave
camel toe a whole new meaning.

The
girl looked over her shoulder toward the hallway, and her blonde hair, which
looked too stiff with
all the
product in it, barely
moved from the rapid action. She giggled louder, and for some reason Alexis
stiffened. There was something about the girl that didn’t sit right with her,
and although she was clearly a club whore—a term Alexis had never liked using
until this exact moment—Alexis felt very threatened by this woman. She didn’t
like it. When it came to the women that worked around the clubhouse, and the
ones that were passed around by the single members, she sure as hell had never
felt intimidated by them. And then she heard the deep rumble of
Nico’s
voice right behind the club pussy, and she
straightened her back even further.

Ohmigod
,
Nico
. It was so big,”
the blonde said on a little breathy giggle. The girl came further into the main
room. Bodhi, Mason, and
Jakob
didn’t pay her any
attention, and continued to play pool, but then
Nico
stepped into the room. He hadn’t seen Alexis yet, and she was about to move
toward him when the bitch of a skank all but skipped to him and wrapped her
skinny ass arms around his waist.

“Thanks
for all your help,
Nico
,” the blonde said to him,
tilted her head back, and smiled this smile that was totally one that screamed
“I want to fuck you to properly thank you.”

The
anger and jealousy Alexis felt were so prominent that she felt her blood boil
from the intensity of it. She had always thought of herself as an easygoing
person, and although there were girls in high school that had flirted with
Nico
when they were together, they sure as hell weren’t
bold like this woman was. But
Nico
pushed her off as
soon as she had grabbed onto him like some kind of parasite. The disappointment
was clear on her face, and then she turned her head and stared right at Alexis,
as if she had felt her staring right at the tramp. She must be brand new at the
clubhouse, because Alexis hadn’t seen or heard about her the last time she was
down.

Nico
, maybe later I can repay your kindness by treating you
to dinner?”

The
little bitch was stepping well over the line. Alexis didn’t care if she didn’t
know
Nico
had a girlfriend, because right now that
would be rectified. Alexis made her way over to
Nico
,
who had his back partially facing her. The other three guys by the pool table
stared at her, all wearing the same smirk on their faces. No doubt they had
noticed the tramp’s little interaction with
Nico
, and
then saw the pissed off expression on Alexis’s face. She sure as hell hadn’t
masked that. She grabbed
Nico’s
thick, muscular
forearm, turned him around, and rose on her toes so she could plant her mouth
right on his. He tensed, as if stunned, but she still had her eyes opened and
saw that he widened his right before he groaned and wrapped his arms around
her. They kissed long, hard, and she didn’t care that all these people were
watching. He had his arms around her waist and lifted her easily off the ground
so only her toes touched the floor. She had never forgotten how strong he was,
not even during their time apart. It felt like eternity since she had felt him
against her, tasted his tongue against hers, and smelled the dark, spicy scent
of cologne and leather that always surrounded him. She wrapped her arms more
tightly around his leather Grizzly MC cut, felt the embroidered patch on the
back, and couldn’t help but groan. The thought of
Nico
being a patched in member to a very lethal club—
their
club—turned her on to the point that she wanted him right
now.
