Why is he acting like some wild animal?
Everly asked herself. She just couldn’t wait any longer and had asked him up front to explain the whole bear-thing from last night.

“I want you to explain what happened last night,” Everly asked, watching Cade turn his lean and agile body towards her.

“I’m a werebear a—shifter by moonlight. Werebears live in clans deep in the forest,” Cade confessed with a piece of lunch meat hanging from his mouth.

Now, it seemed like Cade hungered for something else as he leaned in close to Everly. Cade then sniffed her hair, gazing upon Everly with craving eyes. Everly felt her heart racing but only ignored it.

It all sounded so crazy, but Everly saw Cade transform from a man to a bear with her own eyes. She squinted, and noticed a small gash on the back of his head.

Maybe when Cade tripped last night, he hit his head a little too hard. If he can’t remember who he is, does that mean he can’t remember buying my farm?
Everly suspected.

Then a mischievous little smile stretched across Everly’s cheek. She started cooking up a plan up in her head.

Why don’t I keep him here, nurse him back to health and then trick him to sign my farm back over to me...?

Of course, this plan meant she’d have to allow a werebear to stay over for a few weeks—which she hated— but figured it was only a small price to pay. Everly grabbed hold of Cade’s strapping shoulder.

“Maybe you just need a place to stay and relax... I have plenty of room here on the farm. I don’t mind putting you up as long as
you
don’t mind pitching in,” Everly suggested, looking up at him with innocent doe eyes.

Cade agreed, giving a feral nod.

“Okay, now that that’s settled. The first order of business will be to get you some clothes...” Everly said, unable to help leering at Cade’s perfect naked form. Everly held up a single finger. “Just
wait
right here,” she told him before pacing up her stairs. She hadn’t stepped foot in her father’s bedroom since he died.

It still smells like his cologne.
She thought. The floorboards creaked under her soft steps. As she grabbed a few shirts and pants from her father’s closet, a part of her felt like a traitor for going through his things.

“Sorry dad,” Everly whispered half aloud.

She made her way back downstairs and quickly handed the nicely folded clothes over to Cade.

“Not yet,” Cade grunted. “I must first gather firewood to keep the house warm.”

Cade’s voice was so dark and manly. It almost sounded like he was meant to be there to protect her. Everly studied him from her kitchen window as Cade shifted into a hulking bear. Cade then hoisted up lots of firewood in his sharp jaws and placed it in a pile next to Everly’s cabin.

It’s nice to have a helping hand around the house.
Everly thought. She had gotten sick of having to do every last thing by herself. During the whole day, Everly’s daily chores got finished triple fast with Cade stuck at her side. As the sun began to set, Everly spotted Cade out near her garage and tinkering on her father’s old ford pick up. She held a jar of honey for him to eat.

“Don’t bother,” She warned him. “I’ve been trying to fix that piece of junk for what feels like
forever.

Cade rose up from underneath the hood, his shirt and face were covered in oil. Just ogling at him made Everly feel urges she hadn’t felt in a long time. Cade had his flannel shirt buttoned down in the front and the sleeves rolled up into cuffs. Underneath all of the grime, she could easily make out his tanned bronzed abs.

“It works fine,” he growled. “Just needed an oil change.”

Everly almost didn’t believe him. She’d literally been trying to get that heap of junk running for years without much luck.

“Wow...” she breathed genuinely shocked. “Thank you. By the way... this is for you.”

She handed him the jar. Cade just nodded, putting away his tools. He then scooped up a handful of honey and savored it in his mouth. Everly had to admit, she thought it was cute.

Everly spoke up. “I’m getting a toasty fire started in the house, you’re more than welcome to join me.”

C
ade simply gave a low snarl and followed her inside, carrying an armful of firewood.

Like nothing, he hurled the heavy logs into the fire. Everly just stood and watched, amazed at his strength.

“Come, sit with me,” He beckoned Everly with a low growl. His entire body was glistening with sweat after a hard long day’s work. And a glow of fire light reflected in his blood red eyes. Everly cautiously scooted under his bulging bicep and strangely felt a great comfort snuggling up against him. She could hear his heart thundering so fast in his broad chest.

Am I really warming up to him?
She wondered. Cade held her tight, like he possessed her and claimed her as his own. He lowered his hand to Everly’s cheek, and she gazed up at him with half-lidded eyes.

“I want to thank you for taking me in, I owe you everything—even my life,” Cade grunted, holding her ever so tightly.

He then leaned down and kissed her, sending a surge of shockwaves through Everly’s supple curvy body. He invaded Everly’s mouth with his hot tongue, gripping her tightly against his chest. Everly gasped a breath when Cade thundered her down onto the carpet, forcing her to widen her thighs.

Her unbidden thoughts raced through her mind.
This is moving WAY too fast! I can’t go on!

She could feel Cade’s cock gorging with need against her thigh. Everly shivered as her legs parted making room for Cade’s crotch. He caressed every inch of her body and then ripped his shirt off of his shoulders. Everly hitched a sharp breath when her werebear hiked up her dress and rubbed his stubbly cheek against her heat. Greedily, he pulled down her white panties with his sharp teeth.

Everly’s thoughts swirled in a total frenzy.

But I hate this man? Why do I want him so bad?

Cade licked along the folds of Everly’s soft mound, crazed with wanting to taste her.

Devour her.

Claim her.

Every inch of Everly’s skin was aflame when she spotted him unzipping his tight denim jeans. Everly blinked as Cade mounted himself above her, standing with his legs wide. He drew out his big grizzly-sized cock into his rough hand. He then thrust his rigid cock into Everly’s moist heat. Everly moaned when she felt Cade grip the back of her neck. She locked her ankles at his back allowing him to thoroughly fuck her with a slow and steady rhythm.

If I stay any longer on this carpet, I’m going to get major rug burn...

Everly considered.

Cade rocked her up on his chest, shifting her hips right on top of his groin. Everly leaned her neck back, swaying her hips on his stiff bear cock. Cade thrusted sharply harder and harder. A sweaty glow covered the whole of his hot werebear body underneath the glow of firelight.

Cade needed her to feel pleasure. He needed her to feel as deeply as he felt. As a bear, it was so important for him to make sure his mate was extremely satisfied. Everly tossed her hair when Cade forced her in a kneel on her hands and knees.

Every inch of his rock solid body was sweltering. Cade’s appetite had him aching to taste her heat again. Everly caught her breath when Cade licked her sensitive clit with his long tongue, licking it with a thirsty fever. He kept at it until he tortured Everly into carnal submission. He then teased her with his erect grizzly cock, forcing Everly to bite down on her arm.

Cade towered over her, his breath hot and he slid his arms up to Everly’s curvy waist. His hard shaft prodded her waiting heat. He groaned when he entered her again, feeling Everly squirm in his rough hands. Cade thrust himself in and out of her. Faster and faster until he groaned and came with raw desire. Everly’s body shook with pleasure and she stiffly curled her toes.

Everly wordlessly fell against Cade’s lean and broad chest, pouring with sweat. They both looked into the dancing fire.

“I keep having these strange memories pop into my head,” Cade grunted, stroking through Everly’s hair.

And for Everly, guilt seeped in. She didn’t know how much longer she could hide the truth from Cade. She tried to play it cool.

“Memories?” Like what?” she asked.

“It’s me, but a different version of me, you know. I can’t seem to get my mind off of it.”

Everly only tried her best to reassure him. “It’s been a long day, you’re just tired. Don’t think too hard.”

She knew she needed him to sign over the deed sooner rather than later. Before Cade’s memories started flooding back.

Cade kissed along Everly’s neck.

“You’re the only person I can trust right now,” he growled.

Everly gulped, whatever happened, she could not let him find out. Cade then steadily lowered himself, kissing Everly’s soft naked back. Everly swooned underneath his embrace not wanting it to end—not even for a second.

Suddenly, she heard a startling knock at her door. Both she and Cade met eyes, and exchanged confusing looks. Everly got up to her feet with a throw wrapped around her naked body as she made her way to her door. Slowly, she pulled the door open and a familiar face stood just outside.

Birdie waved at her.

“Hey big Sis, long time no see...” Birdie hollered, squeezing a reluctant Everly tight in her arms. “So, do you have a place where I can crash?”

Everly tilted her head to the side.

Oh, no!

Chapter Five

“W
hoops, I hope I didn’t catch you at a bad time,” Birdie chuckled catching a glimpse of Cade lying naked on the floor.

Everly shoved her sister Birdie into her bedroom. She had enough drama on her plate and didn’t need her flighty sister getting up in the mix.

Heeeey,
why so pushy all of a sudden, huh? You know that Daddy’s farm belongs to me too, right?” Birdie huffed, stomping her foot.

Everly rolled her eyes. “Birdie, I don’t see you in years and you think it’s just fine to drop in on me like this?”

All of this was typical, Birdie—of course. She never made any attempt to stay in touch unless she needed money or a roof over her head.

“Look, I realize you’ve got a fine ass sexy fella just waitin’ to snuggle up with you out there—
but
like it or not, you and I are family...we’re stuck together, Big Sis,” Birdie sassed before flopping onto Everly’s nicely made bed.

Cade walked in, now dressed.

“You gonna introduce me, Eve?” he growled while buttoning up his shirt.

Birdie looked Cade up and down like a piece of fresh meat. She purposefully tossed her perfectly straight blonde hair and fluttered her eyes. Her flip flops annoyingly clacked on the floors.

“Birdie, meet Cade,” Everly sighed. “Cade, meet my little sister Birdie.”

“My, my... the pleasure is all mine,” Birdie, cooed raising her perfectly arched brow.

Cade scowled not sure what to make of the straw thin girl. Werebears liked their mates, plump and fertile not skinny like a bean pole.

Birdie then squinted her eyes. “I can’t put my finger on it, but somethin’ looks real familiar about you... I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before...” she said, trying to put Cade’s name with a face.

If anyone would find out Cade’s true identity, it would be Birdie. Birdie frequently found herself in circles of very wealthy men. Mainly, because she hoped one day she’d sucker one into marrying her. Gold digger is too kind of a word for her. So, likely she knew who Cade Forrest was.

“Okay, everyone. Why don’t we just call it a night and head off to bed, shall we?” Everly suggested trying to regain control of the conversation.

“I can’t sleep. I must go out and hunt fresh meat for breakfast tomorrow morning,” Cade grunted

Birdie flashed Everly a
what the hell
look. The last thing Everly needed was Birdie finding out Cade is a werebear.

Everly hushed Cade. “That’s okay, sweetheart. I’ll just whip us something up. No need for hunting or whatever.”

Cade sniffed brashly, feeling that somehow Everly’s mood had changed towards him as if she were embarrassed if he acted on his natural instinct as a werebear. Cade didn’t understand why she shut him out so coldly.

“Go, Birdie. The couch is yours...” Everly insisted, knowing she’d get the
very
obvious hint.

Birdie took that as her cue to skedaddle. She sashayed out of Everly’s bedroom.

Cade didn’t skirt around issues. What just happened kept plaguing his mind.

“What was that back there? Why would you disrespect me in front of your sister?” Cade asked.

Everly pursed her lips feeling like soon enough everything around her would simply unravel.

“Sorry, Cade. I just shoot off at the mouth sometimes,” Everly apologized. Still, noticing that Cade was very upset.

Cade then ripped back the covers. “Come. Lay with me...” he commanded her.

Everly slunk into Cade’s embrace, but could not truly rest her nerves. She didn’t even get a wink of sleep that night.

Chapter Six

B
irdie came screaming into Everly’s room.

“There’s a
friggin’
bear right outside on your front porch!” she shrilled.

Everly combed her hair back with her fingers to get it out of her tired sleepy eyes.

“Yeah, I know, Birdie...” Everly sighed, slinking out of bed.

Birdie had a look of shock stamped on her face. Not understanding how her sister could be so calm, given that a bear was just shambling around in her honey farm.

You know?
Then don’t you have enough sense to dial up animal control or somethin’?” Birdie shrieked.

Everly wondered if she looked that hysterical when she first found out that Cade was, in fact, a werebear.

Everly pointed. “That’s Cade.”

Birdie glanced
real
hard at the bear hauling wood into a pile. With so much needing to be done around the house, Everly didn’t want the suspicion to drag on any longer.

“Alright, follow me...” Everly instructed, waving her sister to follow her lead. Everly snatched a towel from the kitchen, and they both stepped outside.
