Danger is sexy…

On paper it looked like a regular job, the sort of thing that Jackie Maguire is in desperate need of. Only when she arrives at the interview does she realize that the man she is going to work for is large, tattooed, and quite possibly incredibly dangerous. And she can’t help but want him.

Shane Hamilton has a special place within the Restless Motorcycle Club – he is in charge of operations, and that includes the shipping business that provides the front for their illegal pursuits. He is smart, powerful and a completely dominant personality, and when he sees something he wants, he never fails to get it.

The Motorcycle Club has enemies, and Jackie’s appearance on the scene is the perfect opportunity for them to get a leg up. Personalities and passions collide as Jackie is given a choice – dig up secrets from the dangerous biker gang or else face the consequences.

Shane groaned and his hands came up to pull me even harder against him. I could feel him stirring against my leg, the sensation so unfamiliar and yet so primal, evoking a response in my body that was as old as time itself.

My gambit appeared to be working, distracting Shane from the events over lunch. It also prevented me from tripping up and letting slip that I knew that the business was a front for illegal motorcycle club activities. I didn’t trust myself to be able to lie convincingly about it, and so I did the only thing I could think of - the thing that I’d wanted to do ever since I’d walked in for the interview and saw his face.

His hands were everywhere, tugging at the base of my hair, running down my back, cupping my ass through my clothes. I needed them against my bare skin, giving me the pleasure that I knew he could.

I tried not to think about how much I needed this job - any job.

It had been so long since I’d had so much as an interview that I was finding it tough to master the nervous shaking in my hands. The copy of my resume fluttered in my grasp until I put it down on the chair beside me and clutched my fists against my stomach, willing them to stop.

“Jackie Maguire?” A buxom blonde poked her head through the door opposite. I tried not to hate her for her stunningly good looks and carefree attitude, everything that I was lacking at that moment. I didn’t quite succeed. “Mr. Hamilton will see you now.”

I wanted to run away, convinced that I couldn’t pull this off. At least the crushing poverty and sense of impending financial doom was familiar, almost an old friend. Facing the unknown behind the door was a hell of a lot scarier. It would be impossible to ever forgive myself for coming this far and just giving up before the end, so I mustered my courage and dragged myself to my feet.

It took until the threshold of the door out of the small waiting room before I remembered that I’d left my resume on the seat. “Oh no!”

The secretary cocked her head to the side, confused as I ran back across the room and claimed the piece of paper with a small amount of black type printed on it - the sum of all job experience in my short life.

“Sorry,” I said, chagrined smile on my face. “Almost forgot my resume.”

The blonde rolled her eyes and turned back through the door to lead me to the interview.

Geez, what’s her problem?
The silent rebuke served to double the hot nervousness that raced along my limbs, making it difficult to even walk.
Pull yourself together, Jackie. It’s just an interview. You used to be really good at these, back in the day. Just be cool, try to relax.
It was easier said than done. My expertise at interviews was a long time ago, back in high school, when I was fresher faced and cuter, and had a nicer butt than I did now. I wasn’t naive enough to think that hadn’t played a part in my previous successes.

Our final destination was only across the hall from the room in which I’d been waiting. The secretary held open another door but didn’t say anything further. Thinly veiled contempt radiated at me from the other woman, and I had a feeling that more than one of us thought that I was going to completely bomb the interview.

I was so involved in my own thoughts that the sight of Mr. Hamilton behind a wide oaken desk audibly took my breath away. Luckily he wasn’t looking up or else he would have caught the way that my jaw dropped open and feet stumbled against each other as my brain lost all ability to control my body, struck by the sight of the man in a simple white shirt and jeans.

He’s so manly!

It was too much of an understatement, even for the privacy of my own thoughts. There were some black tattoos on his forearms, but I couldn’t see what they were of. The testosterone practically oozed out of his skin. It was obvious that he didn’t care about his appearance in the way that a lot of the men in this city did, but that didn’t mean he looked like a slob.

He looked good enough to eat. The sharply defined jaw carried sexy stubble; just enough to make my loins throb as I wondered what it would feel like running along the inside of my thigh.

Then he looked up from his paperwork, and despite all of my efforts a little gasp escaped my lips.

His eyes were dark, and stormy, and wild. They told the truth of a man with a fiercely raging masculinity and barely contained strength; a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

“Sit,” he said, the command in his voice overwhelming and almost enough to make me collapse on the ground at his feet.

The woman’s face was surprised; her mouth rounded in a little “O” that sent a tug straight to my groin. It was a sexy look, all the more so because it was so obvious that it wasn’t being made on purpose.

My order took a moment to take hold, and in that time my eyes completed a quick scan of her body, tracing up the tight skirt and silky blouse. She wasn’t as classically pretty or as thin as the secretary, Brittany, but there was something about her that was just sexy in a way I couldn’t put my finger on.

And I had to have her.

She sat down in the chair across the desk, fidgeting a little under my gaze. I smiled a little on the inside, knowing that the lengthy silence was making her anxious, but I didn’t let it show on my face. I let my eyes linger on her ample cleavage before leisurely slipping my eyes up to her face.

“It’s nice to meet you, Miss Maguire.”

“Thank you - I mean, it’s nice to meet you, too,” she said, her face coloring an enticing pink at her stumble.

“You applied to be my assistant at the business here, Jackie - do you mind if I call you Jackie? What do you think that position entails?”

Her hands folded in her lap and she shrugged. “You can call me whatever you want, Mr. Hamilton. To me, an assistant means that I would do anything you need me to do, take care of errands, make calls, arrange appointments.” She hesitated, and I could sense there was a little more that she had to prevent herself from saying.

“Are you prepared to do everything I demand of you, Jackie?” I deliberately let my voice drop into a more intimate caress, and I could see the effect the words had on her. Goosebumps formed in a delectable trail up to the back of her neck. “There may be things that need taken care of that I won’t trust anyone else to manage.”

Her lower lip quivered as we stared at each other in the eye. Her hand had subconsciously taken up residence on her upper thigh, giving short strokes to her leg through the fabric.

I love how open to suggestion she is.
Finding someone who was willing to go the extra mile wasn’t my top requirement for the job. In fact, it could desperately complicate matters, but there was something about the woman that was irresistible. No matter how much this might fuck things up later, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to help myself around her.

“I…” she hesitated, and her hand stilled. “I don’t quite know what you mean.”

Did I push her too far?

It took a deliberate and larger effort than it should have in order to leash the raw sexual tension that had filled the room.

I smiled, and tried to hide the predatory nature that had been roused inside of me. This woman struck a chord deep inside me, made me want her, need her on her knees in front of me. “I’m confident that you’ll be able to figure it out when the time comes. I’ll tell you what, how about we move ahead into a bit of a trial period. Are you able to come in and work for me tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow?” Jackie’s voice squeaked and her eyebrows flew upwards as my request sank in. “You want me to start tomorrow?”

“Is that a problem?” I asked.

“No, no, that’s amazing, I just,” once more her cheeks colored in a pretty pastel pink, “I just didn’t think that I would have much of a chance for the position, that’s all.”

She looked so vivacious, so full of happiness. The sexy vibe between us had drifted away a little, but I decided that I didn’t mind this feeling either. It was new, and something that I couldn’t wait to try and cultivate.

“Congratulations, Miss Maguire. You are now my assistant.”

Our eyes met and held, and energy crackled between us.
