Chapter 5

It felt like a small weight had been lifted from Chase’s shoulder. He had met her. He had seen his mother. And it went better than he had imagined.

“How do you feel?” Meaghan asked as she drove him home. They had left after his mother did.

“Better.” He reached a hand to her shoulder as she drove. “She looked amazing, didn’t she? It’s almost like she’s younger than when she left all those years ago.”

“Yes. Probably she’s found some peace out here in San Diego.” Meaghan paused and glanced over at him. “Chase?”

“Yes?”

“I’m so relieved, hun. The two of you, well…God, you just looked so happy. I almost bawled my eyes out for you both.”

He held her free hand between the seats. “Yeah.”

“So do you want me to come with you when you see her on Saturday? I’m thinking it might be better if you go see her alone.”

“I want you with me, Meg. I don’t think I’m ready to have that deep, heart-to-heart she wants yet. Let me ease into it. Will you come?”

“Yes. Anything you want.”

“Thanks babe. All I need now is a long bath and time in bed tonight.”

“I can imagine,” she agreed. “You’re probably so exhausted from the tension of waiting for today to happen.”

“I’m definitely relieved,” he answered, and moved closer to whisper in her ear. “But I didn’t say a word about sleeping.”

“No?” She let out a giggle. “Then what?”

“I need your arms around me tonight.”

***

Meaghan stood shivering in the outdoor air. Even with a towel wrapped around her, she couldn’t believe what Chase had suggested. They had gone to his mother’s house that Saturday, and had enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. Chase’s parents lived in the San Diego hills, just outside the downtown core. Up here, the temperature would drop to the fifties at night, even in the summer.

After dinner, Chase’s mom had insisted they stay overnight. She wanted to make him his favorite breakfast the next day. It seemed like she wanted to make up for lost time—all in one weekend. Meaghan was sure Chase would turn down the offer; that maybe he would feel spending that much time with her would be tempting fate. After all, they had not had ‘the talk’ all day. They had just enjoyed each other’s company, caught up on all the town gossip, ate a lot of barbecue, and he and Meagan had spent the rest of the time swimming.

Now, it was late at night. His mom and Mr. Moscov were asleep, and their housekeeper and driver were gone for the evening. Chase had pulled her from the guest bedroom where they were sleeping for the night, and snuck down to the hot tub beside the swimming pool.

“Are you sure you want to do this the first night you’re at your mom’s place?” She whispered as he removed the hot tub cover.

“Shhh,” he answered quietly. “And yes, I’m positive.”

“This is a little crazy, Chase. I’m sure we’ll get caught.”

“So what? She told us to make ourselves at home. That’s what I’m doing.”

“Geez. Well, okay. But if I catch a cold and can’t work on Monday, you’ll have hell to pay.”

“Deal. Okay, it’s ready.” Chase stood beside her, watching the water. “Ready to get in?”

“Probably not, but I will. Only because it’s you asking.”

“That’s good enough for me, babe,” he whispered. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”

He moved in close to her and removed both their towels. They were both naked underneath, and his cock stood erect and hard already. She let out a soft moan as she looked at it in the dim light.

“You’re so gonna get us in trouble for this, Chase. But now that we’re here, you’d better deliver,” she teased, her pussy already moist and ready for what was to come.

“Don’t you worry about that,” he said, giving her a wink. He slid a hand down her stomach, and came to rest at her mound. “I’ll take good care of this for you, just like I always do.”

He grabbed her hand and yanked her with him, leaping into the water. She shrieked. The splashing water was steamy; a perfect contrast to the chilly night air. She sank down in the water and looked at Chase. He sat and stretched out in the tub, everything but his head submerged. He looked ever so comfortable. He was still holding her hand.

“Hey,” he said.

“Hi honey.”

“Get your ass into my lap. Now.” His voice was deep and firm, but the most playful smile curled up at the side of his lips.

“Fine,” she said with a fake scowl, and slid up on his lap.

“You won’t be saying fine when I’m done with you.”

“No? What’ll I be saying?”

“You’ll be calling my name when I get inside you,” he growled into her ear. “And covering your mouth from your own screams.”

Her breath hitched at his tone. He kissed her neck, and licked a trail up to her ear lobes. “But before that… you’ll be begging me to fuck you.”

“Oh, God,” she groaned, feeling her desire ratchet up a notch between her legs.

He slid his hands around to her stomach, pulling her back into his chest as she slowly rocked on his lap. One hand moved up to her breasts and tweaked on one nipple, then the other.

“Tell me how much you want me, Meaghan.”

“God, Chase,” she whispered, writhing on his lap.

She wanted him so badly, she was buzzing with need. She felt his other hand move down to her leg. He pulled it to the side to open her up, and covered her mound with his large hand. She moaned when his fingers slipped between her lips and began to strum on her aching clit. It sent her wild, and her hips bucked now of their own accord, grinding into his hand for more pleasure, and back on his rock hard cock, still pressing into her back.

“Fuck me, Chase,” she begged.

“Sorry, what?” he teased.

“Please baby. Please come inside me.”

“Not yet baby. I want to taste you first.”

“How are you gonna do that in here, baby?” she said, confused, but eager to see what he had in mind.

“Easy.” He moved his hands to her waist and motioned for her to stand up and turn to face him. He stood up as well, cradled her neck with one hand, and her lower back with the other.  “Relax in my arms and float on your back. I’ll do the rest.”

When she was floating, he stood between her legs, pulled her gently by the ankle and he sat with her legs on each side of his shoulders. She looked at him from her comfy position. She guessed what he would do next, and helped him as he pulled her ankles up and out of the water, and brought her knees to rest on each side of the tub beside his head.

Her knees swung over the outside of the tub now, and the rest of her body was nicely submerged in the water. Suddenly she was aware of his lips; they were inches from her pussy. The thought almost made her tense up. She needed to relax to keep afloat. She took a breath and let him continue.

He stretched his arms out underneath her back to give her more support. “Feeling good yet?” he asked.

“Almost,” she heard herself whimper. “What are you going to do next?”

“Just watch.”

She felt him raise his arms up slightly at the elbow. It elevated her butt and hips just enough that her mound, clit and opening were above water.

“Oh God. Chase. Oh fuck.” She let out a soft moan when he outstretched his tongue and licked her throbbing clit.

His touch was hot compared to the chilly air around them. He clamped down on her clip with his lips, sucking and gently nipping it. He licked down to her opening, and back up to circle her clit again. She groaned and flexed her feet, drawing herself closer so he could ravish her, grinding into his face as her half-lidded eyes darkened and looked on.

His tongue dipped into her opening and sent her to her first climax. She felt his strong arms underneath her, holding her up as her body shook.

“Please Chase. Please fuck me now. Please, baby.”

This time, he did what she asked. He lifted her knees and gently pushed her away from his body until her ankles were back in the water. He stayed between her legs and stood up, pushing her farther across the water until they were at the other end.  “You need to hold on to the other side okay?”

She nodded and reached her hands out to hold on at the edge. “Like this, b—?”

Before she could ask her question, he reached around her hips, clamped his hands to her ass cheeks, and entered her. With one wicked thrust, he was deep inside her, right to the root.

“Fuck!” The sound of her voice carried. She released an arm and held a hand over her mouth.

His balls slapped against her ass as he thrust into her again. And again. The water lapped around them with each plunge. This position was beyond pleasure—his erotic attacks landed right on her g-spot each time. When he penetrated her again, it took her straight to another climax.

Her stomach clenched around his cock as the waves of her orgasm over took her. She growled under her hand as he entered her again, sending her climax spiraling up to another level. It was all she could do not to let go. She screamed into her hand and entered another world.

From there, she dreamily looked up at Chase’s face. His body tensed. His eyes rolled back into his head. He was coming.  He dug his nails into her ass cheek on the last push, and drove into her so deeply, she could see stars. He released his grip on her ass when his hot release flooded her womb, and held her at the waist. He was breathless. They both were.

He pulled out from inside her, and she tucked her butt down to sit. He sat beside her, holding her around her shoulder and kissing her cheek. With the water bubbling around them, they sank lower into the tub to keep warm.

“How was that, Meg?” he asked softly, still panting.

“We need a new place. With a hot tub.”

Chapter 6

Meaghan sat at the booth in the far corner of the restaurant a few days later. She did her best to have a bite to eat before starting her next shift. A year ago, she never would have thought she’d be working ten hours a day, mostly to help out the restaurant owner. She also did it because Chase had started working longer hours as well.

She ate slowly, thinking of him. At least they both had jobs. Maybe that meant he would relax a bit when school started, but she doubted it. She knew Chase well. He would work as many hours as he could so they wouldn’t have to worry about money again. She hoped he wouldn’t burn himself out.

Sighing, she nibbled on a fry. Her appetite eluded her. Just as she was considering pushing her plate away, her co-worker Debbie sat down opposite her. She was one of the waitresses who had quickly become a friend, and Meaghan felt comfortable around her.

“Hey, Meg.”

“Hi, Debs.” She forced herself to eat another fry. “You doing another double shift, too?”

Nodding, Debbie snagged one of her fries and nibbled it. She tossed her curly red hair behind her, and leaned against the burgundy vinyl of the booth seat. “Joey was laid off, and I have to cover the rent until he can find another job. We’re in a tough spot, but if he can find a job quickly enough, we’re hoping to find a bigger apartment. That was the plan to begin with, until he lost his job,” she huffed, sounding exhausted.

Meaghan counted her blessings, knowing her problems were nothing in comparison to Debbie’s. “Having three kids and a husband in your apartment can’t be easy.” She shook her head in wonderment.

“It’s not, but at least we have a roof over our heads. The kids have always been good, thank God. They see how hard Daddy’s trying, and there are times when I know they’re happy he’s home. He spends more time with them since he’s been laid off. I wish we could survive on one wage, because having one of us with the kids all the time is wonderful.

“He has to find another job, but he’s overqualified, so it’s tough.” The exasperation was clear in her tone. “Honestly, these tire places won’t hire him because he’s too good. He has several certifications, and all they want are the entry level tire-changers. There are a couple of chop shops that have offered him work, but we’ve never been that desperate for income.”

Meaghan perked up at the comment. “How do you know chop shops from legitimate places?”

Debbie eyed her as if she were clueless. That’s because she was. Meg shrugged, and waited for an explanation. “You hear things, Meg, about them opening up at night, about what the people working there get into….so you avoid them. If you haven’t been here long enough, it’s far too easy to get tangled up into that sort of mess. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.”

“Are they really that bad?” Meaghan’s eyes widened.

Debbie wrinkled her nose, then chuckled. “Aw, honey. I’ll tell you all about it. I used to know a guy who worked in one. In general, it’s not that bad, as long as you don’t end up working at night. During the day, it’s like any other shop, and they’re just…legitimate businesses, you know? They do the usual stuff.”

Meaghan listened raptly, continuing to eat. She was dreadfully curious, and had no idea why. This was the first she had heard of anything illegal happening at night in an auto shop. Maybe she worried about Chase. He had been earning so much money lately.

“The problems start if you’re chosen for those night shifts,” Debbie said. “Then it’s really hard to disentangle yourself. You know too much, so they don’t want to let you go. That’s what my friend said. They will do everything they can to keep you, and if they can’t, it might be better if you move to another city. Somebody who works for a chop shop can easily end up dead.”

Shuddering, Meaghan glanced down at her phone to check the time. “That’s terrible.”

“Yeah. So, my husband is avoiding that. How about Chase? Where does he work?”

“He’s at an auto shop across town. Gosh, I hope it’s legal.”

“Oh, great. For his sake, I hope it is too. Well if he hears about any openings, maybe he can let Joey know. ”

“Sure.”

“It’ll work out, Debs.” Meaghan took Debbie’s hand and gently squeezed it. “You’re strong. You can do it if you stick together.”

***

Meaghan walked in to work a few days later and discovered her night manager Jeff was running the shift, the way he did sometimes. She smiled at him and said hello. He was a smart looking gentleman, around her age, although he seemed a bit older than he really was, for some reason. His jet black hair was always combed neatly, and he wore a suit whenever he was at the restaurant. He was the owner’s son.

He had been friendly enough, but she had to stay on her toes around him. He had already asked her out on a date a few times. When she told him she had a boyfriend, he didn’t seem to care. She would never be unfaithful. She was happy with Chase—and he was her best friend.

When Jeff smiled back at her, his eyes roamed up and down her body. It made her uncomfortable to be in a room alone with him. She made her way to the staff room to put her bag into her locker, and when she returned to the dining room, she was ready to work.

She had a lingering fear that Chase would one day walk into the restaurant. It was probably a good idea to have him come by a few times. Jeff would respect the boundaries if he saw Chase. Most men could tell Chase meant business, and would not cross him.

Tonight, she was not at the front as a hostess. She was covering for a waitress who was sick for a third time that week. Breathing deeply, she waited for her first table to be filled. As the restaurant was almost always busy, she knew it wouldn’t take long for that to happen. When it finally did, she gave them a few moments to settle in, put on her most professional smile, and made her way over to them.

“Good evening. My name is Meaghan, and I’ll be taking care of you today. Can I start you off with anything to drink?”

The older woman smiled back. “Two glasses of wine and two glasses of orange juice, please.” There was a man beside her, who Meaghan assumed was her husband. He had his hands clasped on the table, and was quiet as he watched their two children sitting across from them in the booth.

“Mom, I wanted a milkshake. A chocolate one.”

“You can have a milkshake for dessert if you have all your dinner. We’ve had this conversation before, Becca.”

“Okay.” The little girl sighed.

Meaghan left to get their drinks. She couldn’t help wondering what her life would have been like if her mom hadn’t died when she was so young. Would they have had the same type of relationship? Chase was growing closer to his mom with every week that passed. She was so happy for him, but from time to time, she couldn’t help being slightly envious too.

The thought of her mom bribing her with a chocolate milkshake to get her to have all her dinner, was something that made her smile. Once she had the drinks prepared, she went back to the table.

“Here we are.” She placed the wine glasses in front of the adults, and the juices in front of the children, and went back for the decanter of wine.

“Have you decided what you want to eat?” she asked after she poured their wine.

“Can we have a little bit longer for that?” the mother asked. “Whenever we visit San Diego, we come here for dinner. I want to make sure I don’t have the same entree I’ve had before. Everything is so tasty here.”

“Of course.” Meaghan stepped over to another group that had just walked in, and went through her usual spiel.

Saying the same thing over and over again was often tiring. There were days when Meaghan thought about changing her approach, but she didn’t want to upset her boss. He was the sort of person who liked to control everything, and each server was expected to follow a protocol.

She immediately decided the three young men at the table in front of her might be difficult customers. They kept staring at her breasts and muttering to each other. They made it difficult for her to get their orders.

“What do you suggest we have?” one of the men inquired as he glanced down at the menu.

A lobotomy
, she thought. Luckily, Meaghan had never been the sort of person to say things like that out loud, although there were days when it really was tempting. “That depends on whether you feel like a hot drink or a cold one.”

“It’s too hot in this place for a hot drink.”

Was that meant to be flirtatious
? It was terrible, if it was, and maintaining her smile wasn’t an easy thing for her to do.

He looked down at the menu. “Do you make mixed drinks that aren’t on the menu? Or does someone else do it?”

Meaghan had a feeling she was going to regret answering that question. “That depends on how busy we are.” Going for something neutral seemed the sensible thing to do. “What would you like?”

“You have so many options. I think it’s going to take us a little while longer.”

What a surprise
. As Meaghan returned to the first table, she sensed the three guys were staring at her ass, but she ignored it. At an upscale place like this, if they got out of hand, Jeff would take care of it.

“Hi, again. Sorry for taking so long. Have you decided on what you’d like?”

“Yes, we have, and you don’t need to apologize.” The woman glanced over at the other table, where the three guys were chuckling amongst themselves. “I can’t imagine what it must be like to have to deal with people like that.”

“It’s my job. The only thing we can do is be polite.” Meaghan shrugged. “Most of my customers are nice and easy to deal with.”

“I could never be a waitress.” The mother looked back at her menu, and made her order for everyone at the table.

“And a chocolate milkshake, please.” The little girl added.

When the mother nodded, Meaghan put the milkshake down as well. “Coming right up,” she said to the little girl, winking.

Little Becca grinned. “Thank you.”

Meagan stepped away to put in the order at the back.

Jeff sauntered over and stood beside her. “Do you want me to get rid of those three idiots?” he asked in a hushed tone.

“No, Jeff. I can deal with them.” She glanced up at him, raising an eyebrow. “What do you think I do when you aren’t here?”

“I know, but I hate seeing it.”

“Don’t worry. I can handle them. This is my job. I’m good at it, I think. Dealing with guys like that is a part of it, and as much as I appreciate the offer, if you kicked them out they’d only tell their friends.”

“How is that a bad thing?”

“If they tell their friends, and their friends tell their friends, well, we won’t have much business, will we?”

“That’s true. Well, tell me if they get out of hand. I won’t have anyone mess with you.” He paused and added, “Or any of my staff.”

“Leave it to me. I’ll deal with them, okay?”

“Alright.” He smiled at her. “You really are wonderful, Meg.” He brushed some errant strands of hair away from her face, which was way too forward to her. She pulled away slightly. “Have you thought any more about going on that date with me?”

“I’ve thought about it. The answer is still no, Jeff. I’m with someone.”

“I told you. I don’t mind. We’re young. We can have a little fun. Take as long as you need. I can wait.”

Shaking her head, her face flushed. Meaghan went to check on the three men, who continued to chat quietly amongst themselves. “Ready to order?”

“We were hoping you’d be able to suggest a flavor of milkshake.” The man winked, and the other two laughed.

It was going to be a long day.
