Eileen Brown O’Riley
was born in Brooklyn, New York, and has overcome many obstacles, including breast cancer and surgery. Since the time of her surgery, with the help of a devoted husband and supportive, loving family, she has come through her trauma a much stronger person. She chose the subject of her mastectomy as a thesis topic when she returned to school to complete her master’s degree in education.

Bernadette Randle
is a former professional pianist and arranger and now serves as music director for the New Life Family Church. Bernadette teaches piano, tutors students in English composition and math, and is a graphic illustrator for the U.S. Army. Mary L. Rapp
was born in New York. She is the oldest of 12 children which she says prepared her well for motherhood and a career in nursing—both of which she has enjoyed immensely. Adrienne Rivera
graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in aerospace engineering in December 1992. She was a member of the U.S. Disabled Ski Team from 1990 to 1994. Adrienne competed in the 1994 Olympics in disabled alpine skiing and won a gold and a bronze medal. She was one of 12 Olympians selected to take the Olympic flame to Sarajevo on a peace mission. She made a presentation to President Clinton on behalf of the disabled teams. Adrienne is retired from racing, works as an aerospace engineer in Denver and is pursuing her master’s degree in engineering management.

Jaime Rosenthal
is a freshman at Pennsylvania State University. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 1994 and had a mastectomy and chemotherapy. In November of the same year she underwent a second mastectomy, followed by five weeks of radiation. Today, her hair has grown back completely and she looks and feels wonderful.
