Chapter Eleven

Dylan

This was really happening.

Payton lay beneath me as I moved my hips, sliding inside of her. She felt like heaven, an unbelievable bliss that took over my mind and left me light-headed. “So tight,” I groaned as I pulled back, before thrusting forward and going in deeper. “You feel amazing, Payton. So fucking good.”

She arched her back and her breasts lifted toward my face. Lowering my head, I wrapped my lips over one hardened peak and sucked gently. Her pussy tensed and I moaned at the feeling.

“Yes,” she whispered, and it resembled a purr. Her legs lifted to wrap around my waist; she dug her heels into my ass and pulled me in tighter. “More, please.”

Who knew Payton was so greedy? But I sure as hell wasn’t going to deny her anything. I allowed her to take from me what she needed.

I lowered my mouth to hers and took her lips in a bruising kiss. I was fucking hungry, and the ability to control myself was long gone.

Gripping her waist tightly I rolled over and took her with me. Once I was on my back, I looked up and her beauty made my chest ache. She was gorgeous.

“Ride me,” I instructed, and I lifted my hips just enough to tease her before I placed my hands on her thighs and waited for her to take control.

Within seconds my sweet girl took over. Her hips rotated in a circular motion and my fucking toes curled at the intense feeling of her wrapped around me.

Her sweet moans became more breathy as her legs shook beneath my palms. I could tell she was getting closer to her release as her pussy continued to tense and release around my cock.

I was barely hanging on.

The connection I felt with Payton at that moment was so much more than sexual. She had never looked more beautiful than right then, completely free and lost in her own pleasure.

Payton lay over me, her face buried into the crease of my neck. I was afraid to move because I couldn’t tell if she had fallen asleep. After the most amazing round of sex I have ever had, she collapsed in exhaustion, and I loved the feel of her naked breasts pressed against my chest.

I took a chance and began to run my palm over her lower back, and I felt her smile against my neck. “That feels nice,” she said in a sleepy voice. “I should probably move off you.”

“If we were at the fraternity house, tucked away in my room, I wouldn’t worry about it, but here…” I continued to soothe her with my touch. “Carter could come home, or my mom.”

She began to roll her body upward and I immediately missed her warmth. I was still tucked inside her heat and could feel myself hardening once again as she shifted.

“Baby, you keep moving on me like that, I’m gonna have you pinned to this bed in seconds, having my way with you all over again.” That blush I loved so much reddened her cheeks, and she smiled knowingly.

“Come home with me for the weekend,” I asked as she crawled off me and grabbed her robe from the floor. I watched as she covered her body and turned around to face me.

“I can’t.” That was not the response I wanted. “I can’t just show up there without talking to Todd first. I need to explain things.”

“You don’t need to explain shit to him. I’ll tell him.” I knew the dick knew I had feelings for her. I also knew he loved the idea of having a girl I wanted. I couldn’t wait to prove him wrong. Payton had never been his girl.

“I need to tell him. He’s been really nice to me. It hadn’t been anything more than two people hanging out, but I think I owe him an explanation.” I sat up and ran my hand through my hair. I didn’t fucking like it, but I guess I would deal. She better fucking bet I would be right there with her, though.

“Okay, if you can’t come back with me, then it looks like I’ll be staying here this weekend.” She smiled and took a few steps toward me to close the distance between us. “Let me get dressed and then we’ll get something to eat and watch a movie.”

She nodded her head as I stood from the bed, still completely naked. I placed my lips to hers on the way up and kissed her until she was breathless. As I pulled back and looked at her reddened, swollen lips, I knew I was in so much trouble. There was no fucking way I was going to be able to go without having her over and over, day after day. Fuck, I was running ideas through my head of moving her ass in with me, and I had to take a deep breath to calm down.

If you asked me what movie we were watching I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I watched only the first three minutes before I began exploring Payton a little more, kissing her neck and collarbone. Hell, I had her pinned to the couch before the title of the movie flashed on the screen. I was like a wild dog feasting after days of starvation.

“Dylan,” she panted as I pressed my hardness against her center. She lifted her hips from the couch and ground against me, her hands gripping the back of my neck.

“You want more?” I asked, knowing damn well she did. She was clawing at my back through my shirt as she continued to rub against me. “Do you need more, Payton?”

“Yes,” she moaned, reaching between us to stroke me over my jeans.

Sliding my hand along her bare thigh, I began toying with the hem of her shorts, working my way beneath the band of her panties. The moment I felt her wetness my cock jerked in excitement.

“Damn you’re wet,” I told her as I slid my finger inside with ease. Her panting grew heavier as she rocked against my hand. Adding a second finger, she whimpered. “Fuck my fingers, baby,” I whispered against her ear, and she thrust harder and faster.

My hand froze when I heard the sound of the front door close. When I tried to pull my hand away she gripped my wrist and clamped her thighs together. “Don’t stop,” she begged.

I started to tell her someone was here, but the sound of my sister’s shrilling voice said it for me.

“Well, talk about zero to one hundred in no time at all. Looks like the two of you finally stopped acting like idiots. You better be lucky it was us and not Mom who walked in and found you molesting Payton on the couch.” She didn’t even give us the privacy to finish. Instead she sat down on the loveseat, pulling Seth down with her. He looked back at me with a sympathetic look. I had never in my life wanted to manhandle my sister, but she was riding a thin line now. I felt murderous.

Chapter Twelve

Payton

I woke up to the house buzzing in excitement. Carter and Dylan were rough housing in the dining area and Karen was looking on with a huge smile on her face.

She must have heard the shuffle of my feet because she turned to face me and gave me a hug. “Morning, sweetheart. You hungry?”

“Yes, actually. I’m starving,” I replied as I looked back over at the boys. Dylan had Carter in a head lock and he was looking up at me, grinning brightly and offering me a wink. I looked back at Karen and noticed she caught the entire thing.

“It’s about time the two of you worked things out.” I was a little thrown off by her words. When Dylan stepped up to my side and leaned in to place a kiss at the corner of my mouth, I still remained frozen, looking straight at Karen.

“Don’t look so worried. I’ve seen this coming for a long time, sweetheart,” Karen said as she turned around and began filling my plate.

“I had a talk with her this morning. I’ve also talked to her several times over the last few weeks,” Dylan confessed, still holding onto me firmly.

When Karen turned around, she held out a plate filled with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. “Wow! This looks great.”

She lifted her finger to lick off the dripping syrup as she passed the plate to me. “Don’t look at me. Dylan did all this.”

“Wow…who knew you could cook?” I teased as I walked to the table and pulled out a chair. Dylan followed behind me with two cups of milk as Karen placed his plate on the table, carrying double the amount of food.

“You two enjoy breakfast. I have to take Carter to get his cleats and a few other things he can’t seem to keep track of.” Carter threw his arm over her shoulders and hugged her close. “Nah, Mom, I just love spending time with you. Losing my shit seems like the best way to ensure we get quality time together.”

He made a humph noise when she punched him in the side. “Okay, smartass, watch your mouth.”

“But didn’t you just say ‘ass’?” he said, stepping back out of her reach.

“You do know Mom packs a mean punch, little man. She is liable to clock you when you least expect it,” Dylan said around a mouthful of bacon.

“Nah, she wouldn’t hurt me. She says I’m her favorite.” Carter shielded himself when Karen stepped closer.

“Get in the car before I show you ‘favorite.’”

“See? I told you guys. You heard that, right?” Carter hollered back over his shoulder, and Karen shoved against his back.

My back pressed tightly to the door and my legs wrapped around Dylan’s waist as he continued to move inside me. His upward thrusting caused my back to keep shifting against the wood.

“I’m so close,” he said through gritted teeth.

His thighs tensed beneath my ass with each thrust, followed by a deep groan of satisfaction. “This feels unbelievable. So fucking good, Payton.”

My first sexual experience was a total bust. It was with an inexperienced teenage boy during the summer after I graduated high school; something that made me wonder what the hell all the hype was about. It was over before it really got started, and the only thing I got from it was a bite mark on my shoulder. I spent days afterward trying to hide it.

Being with Dylan was a completely different experience. It was intense, and the hunger I felt each time he touched me was maddening.

The creaking of the door mixed with our panting was so erotic. I had never in my life felt so turned on and alive.

I dug my fingernails into his back, making him hiss as he ground his pelvis against mine, hitting that spot where I needed it most. “Oh god, yes,” I moaned, pumping my hips against his. “Right there, just like that. Don’t stop,” I begged.

“I’ll never stop,” he assured me. “You are mine, sweet girl. All mine.” His tone was so confident.

I fell over the edge and sagged against the door as waves of pleasure racked my body. Dylan’s own release followed as his thighs jerked erratically. He rested his forehead against my shoulder.

“Holy hell,” he breathed. “A couple of days with you and a guy needs a week to recover.”

“I’m pretty sure it was you who started this whole thing. So it’s all on you, buddy.” I unhooked my legs and slowly slid down his body. The moment my feet touched the floor I felt weak.

“I didn’t hear you complaining. In fact, the only thing I heard was you panting my name,” he cooed as he leaned in and kissed me. “And that is the best sound ever.”

Dylan Andrews was dangerous. He was addicting, and I was seriously in deep trouble.

“Not that I don’t want you again right here, right now, but we better get dressed before Carter and my mom return.” I pouted up at him and he chuckled. “Hey—I offered to take you home with me, but you declined.”

It was then I remembered Todd and I instantly felt bad. I texted him before my shower; afterward when I found Dylan on my bed, I forgot about everything else, including Todd.

“What’s going on in that head of yours?” Dylan asked, and my head jerked up to look at him. “You look concerned, or…” He paused as he lay his palm against my cheek. “…upset?”

“No, I just remembered there is still something I need to handle.” It took him a few moments, but I instantly noticed when he pinpointed what I meant.

“I told you I would take care of it.” He stepped back from me and picked up his boxers from the floor. I remained in the same spot where I lowered myself to the floor, still sagging back against the door.

“I know, but I just feel like it should come from me.” I tried to explain but I could sense Dylan’s irritation. “He’s been a really good friend to me, and I don’t want to ruin that.”

“A really good friend who has just been waiting for your walls to crumble so he could get in your pants.” He didn’t even look at me. The passionate moment we had just shared faded away, a tense situation taking its place.

“Dylan?” I reached out for him as he slipped his arms into his shirt. He stood before me fully dressed as I remained naked and slightly panicked by his current mood.

“No, Payton. I’ve watched him strut around the house, acting all cocky that he was the one spending time with you. You may think his intentions were innocent, but I can guarantee you he had an ulterior motive.” Dylan was angry.

I decided having this conversation while I was still naked was not in my best interest, so I followed his lead and began covering up. I suddenly felt vulnerable, and the urge to distance myself from Dylan became strong.

The atmosphere had shifted tremendously and it left a strong ache in my chest.

“I won’t share you,” Dylan whispered. It felt like a punch to the stomach.

“And I’d never ask you to. How could you even think I would?” I didn’t wait for his response before yanking open the bedroom door, leaving him sitting on the end of my bed.

When I rounded the corner into the kitchen, I nearly ran into Carter as he carried his new football gear toward the stairway. “Damn, Twig, we’ve got to stop meeting like this.” I knew he was playing around, but I wasn’t in the mood. “You okay?” he asked, losing all traces of humor.

“I’m fine,” I replied as I brushed past him and continued toward the kitchen.

I heard footsteps approaching from behind, and the last thing I wanted was to face Dylan right now. He had taken a perfectly innocent gesture of common courtesy and made it feel dirty.

Karen looked over from her spot near the refrigerator and smiled. “I got some more of that ice cream you girls like so much, and a bag of Fritos.” Apparently she had not yet noticed the tension I could feel rolling off me. Dylan was right behind me, standing in the threshold with his arms crossed over his chest. He obviously hoped we would be able to carry on our conversation, but Karen was the perfect buffer.

Just then the telephone rang and I jumped.

I rounded the island in the center of the kitchen and began helping Karen put away the groceries, attempting to keep myself busy. She paused long enough to answer the phone because Dylan showed no signs of retrieving it.

“Hello,” she said, tucking the phone between her shoulder and ear, holding it securely as she continued to load the food in the freezer. Her movements slowed until she stood frozen in place, her gaze shifting toward me.

“Why are you calling here? Do you have any idea what you left her to deal with? The pain she suffered?” My stomach felt like it dropped to my feet. “You have a lot of nerve. Don’t call my home again.”

She slammed the phone down and braced herself on the counter, attempting to maintain her composure. That familiar sense of fear shot through my body, one I hadn’t felt in years. It was the same fear that hit me when the letter from John arrived. It was still tucked away in my drawer.

“Who was that?” I asked just as Dylan stepped up to my side and rubbed my back soothingly. The tension between us only moments ago faded.

“John?” My voice shook with the name.

Karen finally turned to face us and she gave me a look of pity I hated to see. I refused to be treated like a victim. “It wasn’t John,” she replied as she took a step closer, reaching out to take my hand in hers. “It was Maggie.”

“What?” Words escaped me; I was blindsided. I hadn’t seen or heard from my mother in years. She never reached out to me, never came back to save me from the hate in which I was surrounded.

“I don’t know what came over me. I’m sorry.” Karen was apologizing for defending me. This woman had been more of a mother to me than my own. She had protected me, and now she was saying she was sorry.

“Thank you,” I whispered as I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around her. “For everything.”

I spent two years with my therapist attempting to find the real Payton, the girl John slowly destroyed over the years that I was trapped in his clutches. I spent hour after hour sharing my deepest secrets, coming out stronger and much more confident. But certain moments brought all the years rushing back, all the pain and sadness and hiding my emotions for fear of being punished for them.

I finally found my light, but the darkness had slowly come back to claim me once again.
