No, that

s Lisa and Dawson
.

I r
ais
e
my voice above the chaos, as we follow them from the erotic pandemonium.

No show tonight, it

s going to be a private interlude this evening.

Dawson
confesses as he leads Lisa quickly through the crowd.

Lisa beams over her shoulder,

See
you tomorrow
.

The faint sweet smell of rain is the only trace left behind after they shift away.

Marc and I wait out
by the cars for Megan to come
out.
It

s
David that shows up instead.

I think Megan has a proposal
…with Zaylen a few more hours,

David comments as he
casually
walks up to us.

No
earth shattering surprise there,

I
say, remembering
how Megan ogled and practically drooled over him like some kind of eye candy earlier.

Okay, I

m out…
I

ll be around the house
tomorrow if you want to stop by,

David states
eyeing me as he steps away from my car.

I know he wants to talk more about th
e dream issue because Zaylen had
mentioned it, and
I only want
to sweep it under a giant bear skinned rug, hoping Marc doesn

t
sense David

s
rising concerns as well.

Studying the pavement I madly push the haunting memories away, thankful David saved me that seemingly unforgettable night, if I continue to sink further in these thoughts I

ll never come back, living a sleepless life is not something to look forward too. A shiver runs through me and David asks with
distraught in his lowered voice,

You ok
ay
?

I ru
n a hand through my hair and placing my arms across my chest for comfort, giving him a false smile.

I

m fine.

David stares for a moment over at Marc, debating within about my little secret.  Marc

s returning stare seems to say,
speak or go the hell
away;
I don

t care
, but
quit looking at me before I freeze your ass
.

Let me know if you need anything.

Without waiting for my reply back he hops in his car and takes off.

Is everything ok
ay
?

Marc asks as I unlock my door.

Yeah
, everything is great, why?

I just feel like David seems stressed about something, is there an
ything you want to tell me?

I really don

t want to even think about my dreams right now.  I

m actually scared to death to talk about it out loud.  After what I went through that night, I don

t want to have to speak about it ever again.

You know
David by now, he

s always concerning himself with something or other.  So, what do you want to do now?

I smile as he leans in to kiss me.

Chapter 29

Come home with me.

The only words he needs to whisper and I

m driving to his house with a delighted smile knowing how I will spend the reminder of the night.

On the way my cell keeps going off.  Text message after text message all from
David
,

U need 2 tell him
.

I never reply back, and I don

t want to tell Marc.  It feels like every time I talk about it I

m giving it energy, allowing
it to become more of my reality, s
o much so that my bones ache from its
scarring
memories
.

The second reason I

m not comfortable with discussing it with Marc, is the fact that David was sleeping beside me, when it happened and I

m not quite sure how Marc may take it. So my plan of action is, not give it another thought and it will simply vanish, right?  That

s the goal anyway.  I grab my cell and shove it down into the console.

Pulling next to Marc

s Camaro, I grab my cell reluctantly before I go in.
Marc shifts instantly and opens my door for me.  I take his hand as we walk around the side and up to his balcony.  He opens the double glass doors to the bedroom.

Have a seat, I

ll be right back. I

m gonna get us something to eat
,

h
e
says and
shifts away.
Waiting for him, I look around and notice new patio furniture and the full glass windows which cover the entire west side of his room appear new as well.  The doors and even the handles are a different type of brass.  I lean in closer to one of the bay windows and run my hand over a label sticker that apparently someone forgot to take off.  It

s all
new. H
is entire back glass wall has been replaced.

Peeking inside his room I see that it is completely different. New bed, dressers, nightstands, lamps, you name it.  I continue looking around when
my cell goes off again,
g
roaning.

What?

I walk guardedly out to the balcony.

Leaning over the railing with my back
to Marc

s bedroom I hear David

s tone with demand,

Alyssa, are you going to tell him?

Glancing over my shoulder once, I turn and lower my voice,

Look David, I don

t think it would be a good idea to tell him right now, maybe never.

Silence follows until I hear him almost growl to me,

He really needs to know Alyssa, what if it happens again?

Absently, combing my hair with m
y fingers in irritation I reply,

It won

t happen again, David. I

ll have more control next time. I just don

t think this is something we should tell Marc about, ok
ay
?

An aggravate
d sigh drifts through the
cell
and then David announces,

If you don

t tell him Alyssa, and soon, then I will.

The next voice comes from behind me as Marc

s tone laces with a hint of animosity,

What is it that you and David need to tell me, Alyssa?

I turn to see him sitting down, with his arms across his chest, in one of the patio chairs.  The look he gives me makes me realize that he probably heard my entire conversation.  I can only imagine how it sounds to him.

Well David, here

s your chance, tell him.

I walk over to Marc and hold out my cell to him.

I think David feels compelled to tell you something.

Marc stares at me for a moment then takes my
cell
from my awaiting hand.

What it is?

Marc answers with agitation.  I shift into the bedroom and lean my forehead against the window.  Pulling my
iPod
out
I drown them both out.  I don

t care to hear their conversation, nor do I want to relive the nightmare.

Moments pass and I see Marc

s image materializing behind me in the reflection from the glass.  He touches my hip with one hand and offers me, my cell with the other.

Why didn

t you tell me?

I turn off my
iPod
, keeping my head down,

I couldn

t, and I still can

t talk about it, just the thought of it makes me feel absolutely paralyzed.

His apprehension soaks through his expression.

Have you had any other dreams like this before?

I slowl
y nod
and whisper
,

Y
es, but this last time it was different and if David hadn

t been there then I wouldn

t be here, standing in front of you now.

How exactly did David get into your dream?

I look away for a moment, knowing it would be inevitable, I guess I better bite the bullet, sighing with resolve,

He was
lying
beside me while I slept.

What do you mean, he was
lying
beside you?

Before you jump to any conclusions,
it

s
not what you think Marc.  I fell asleep and David had placed his hand on my arm and because of that he was able to follow me into the dream realm.

Marc looks in my eyes with both hands on either side of me against the windows.

Alyssa.  I want you to tell me what happened word for word.

Oh no,
I

m thinking franticly,
I can

t go there, didn

t he just hear me say that the very thought scared me to the core.
I know telling Marc this will not work.  Normally, having Marc standing so close to me doesn

t make me feel claustrophobic, but I am definitely feeling it right now.

I can

t do this
,
thinking
as I start to shift to the deck.
Maybe I should just leave.

Then something amazing happens, in the middle of my shift, Marc pulls me into his arms and we shift… together.  I stop
breathing;
witches at our young age and inexperience never shift
together
.  I look at him in utter
astonishment;
I can

t even ask him how. I

m at a loss for words.

Don

t you dare try and leave.

He glares down still holding me.
Does he have any idea of what he just did
, I wonder.

Please, Alyssa
,
tell me what happened.

I instantly realize that I really don

t care
anymore
about my dream story saga.  I

m more interested in how he just shifted with me.  I decide to test the ice, so to speak, and shift back to his bedroom by his closest door.  As before, I feel his silvery mist intertwine with my own and our bodies form together.
