Prologue

The door would have swung open with the force of her entrance if it hadn’t already been propped open. The woman stormed into the bar, shrugged her leather jacket off and sat hard on the barstool.

“Hey Red, hit me baby, it’s been a bad week.” She ordered.

Red is my brother Joe’s wife. She has a commanding presence with long red hair I would envy except I prefer blondes.

I watched Red take an expensive bottle of bourbon from the back of the bar and pour it heavily over a very little bit of ice.

“That bad huh?” She laughed as she slid a napkin under the drink and pushed it across the bar to the blonde.

“Worse.” She took a sip and closed her eyes. When she opened them again she continued, “I took what I thought was a cut and dry case, then I find out the client is lying to me. The evidence floods the fucking courtroom and all the sympathy I get from the judge is a slapping of the prosecutor’s hand for not telling me first.” She took another drink.

“You could always take over your father’s firm.” Red teased with a look that said she was hiding a secret that was just between them.

“Fuck that.” She stood up taking her leather riding hat off and pulled her hair tie out. A layer of chestnut brown hair lies shadowy and dark under the rays of blonde highlights. Sunshine is the word that comes to mind.

Since when am I all sunshine and flowers? I don’t think she’s the sunshine and flowers kind of girl, despite the rays of light she’s emitting just being here.

She downed her first drink and talked to a few other women while waiting for the second.

I elbowed Joe and pointed to her.

He sat back to see, “Oh, that’s Georgia Pine. Don’t bother buddy, she ain’t wrapped too tight.”

Just then I looked over as I heard a whistle from Goat just before he yells across the bar, “Georgia!! Get those sweet peaches over here woman!!” He stands up to greet her as she parted the sea of people on the clubhouse dance floor obviously happy to see him judging from the way she hugged him instead of shaking hands like she had with everyone else.

“Hey baby. How they hangin’?” She asks grabbing a handful of his crotch.

He pretends to enjoy it, but I can see he’s never laid a hand on her by the look on his face. “Large as always baby. Come. Sit.”

She turns to Slider as if asking for permission.

He hesitates then nods. Something is going on there. Interesting.

He leans forward and points two fingers and his cigar at me, “This is my brother Turner Colson, full blood. Do me a favor and help a brother out if he gets in trouble. It wouldn’t be the first time.” He scolds me with a look before continuing. “Turner, Georgia Pine. The best lawyer I know aside from her father. You’d be wise to retain this one with your tendencies to get in trouble.” He instructed me.

I raised one eyebrow at him. Does he want to step into the ring? Maybe he does. It’s been a while, and I’m itching for a good fight. The only problem is Slider is getting old. Joe on the other hand, he might present a nice challenge.

I nod at Miss Pine as to not be rude.

She nods back as Goat explains, “Turner doesn’t say much, but when he does you better hope you’re not around.” He laughs and orders a round of beers.

I watched Miss Pine rather intently for the next couple hours. She’s elegant, yet rough. From what I can tell she gives fierce hugs and firm handshakes. I don’t know many strong women, but this one gives off a certain confident vibe I find appealing.

A couple of Stacy’s girls are starting to hang on me just as Georgia seems to notice me. She rolls her eyes and turns away. This bothers me. How dare she reject me?? She doesn’t know me. Not that it would help.

I push the two girls away gently with a firm shake of my head and start to get up.

Joe grabs my arm, “Don’t bro. I’ve seen the way you’ve been ogling her all night. She’s not one of Stacy’s girls.”

I nod well aware of that fact. And people ask me why I don’t bother with words when they come out like that. What a waste of time.

Speaking of wasting time. I’d like to waste some time on those curves tucked nicely into tight jeans and worn leather chaps. From the way the leather is worn I can tell she’s been riding for a while. I wonder what model she rides. Better not be a Honda or I’ll spank her tight little ass right here in front of everybody.

Who am I kidding? Slider wouldn’t let her in here if she rode anything other than a Harley.

I sneak up on her from behind so the people she’s talking to see me first and retreat. Everybody retreats when I show up.

She turns around and looks up, “Whoa, you are a big fucker. I thought Joe was big, but good God.” She laughed sipping her beer now. She’s slowing down, probably to ride home safely. I like that.

She smiled and I felt my eyebrows furrow slightly, “Oh yeah, the big strong silent type. Well Mr. Colson, I’ve had my share of men who don’t speak when they should. Or they out and out lie when they do. As I’m sure you’ve heard, I’ve had a bad week and an even worse day. Goodnight Mr. Colson.”

She tried to leave me standing there berated like an idiot, but I gently took her arm and shook my head as she looked back up.

“What?” She asked looking at me with big amber-brown eyes that I’m sure contrast my light blue.

I nod towards the side patio suddenly wishing the air in here was more breathable. Red started making the guys smoke outside, but I feel suffocated suddenly.

She took my hand and dragged me through the people on the dance floor, out to the side patio, and down a couple steps into the parking lot under a flickering light. Slider should have that fixed.

She looked up at me, “I’ve seen you eyeing me all night Mr. Colson. Is there something I can do for you?”

Yes, as a matter-of-fact, you can let me taste you. I bent my knees and reached around to her lower back and pulled her hard and fast making her drop her beer as her breasts pushed against my torso.

I grabbed her jaw in my other hand and held my nose to her ear and inhaled. She still smells like the road, with a hint of, what is that? Vanilla? Then there’s the old leather and clean cotton smell under the road dust.

“I don’t date bikers, especially a Colson. I don’t fuck them in parking lots either.” She assured me but didn’t struggle as I ran my beard along her jaw.

Oh the things I could do to this little peach. Her breath hitched when I bit her jaw just before I took my lips to hers.

She hesitated, but I’m too forceful. Her curiosity seems to take over and she tentatively gives back. There’s not much room to give back here baby. I do all the taking, you just sit back and let me devour.

She finally grabbed my ponytail and jerked it back hard. Her eyes were wild with a raw passion I’ve never seen. This is a woman in desperate need of a good fuck.

“That’s enough.” She pulled back. “Take that back to brag to your brothers, because it’s all you’re getting.” She sternly informed me.

I raised my eyebrow at the challenge.

“Don’t get cute.” She grabs my hand after picking up the bottle and tossing it in the trash. “Come, you can buy me another beer since you made me drop the last one.”

I bought her a beer, and one for myself. She tried to toast me in thanks and go back to her friends, but I wasn’t ready to watch her from afar again.

I looked around seeing the poker game start up and decided to play. They know my hand signals from years of playing when I come through town. Tonight I want some arm candy I don’t have to pay in cash later.

I put my arm around her shoulders and walked her over to the table.

She almost beamed when we got there, “You’re seriously going to let Red play after what she did to poor Bret.” She teased. We all know that story.

Joe stiffened under his wife. “She’s not playing, she’s going to sit here and be good. Right wife?”

“We’ll see. If Slider gets liquored up enough I might be able to go a couple hands. How about you Georgia? Gonna play?” Red asked. I swear that woman lives to defy her old man. He spends more time chasing after her than working. Guess I can’t blame the guy. I’d rather be enjoying some of these peaches than working myself.

“Not tonight,” she held up her drink, “too many drinks.”

Red nodded and watched as I sat pulling Georgia onto my thigh with her knees between mine. I shifted to make sure we were solid and waited for my hand to be dealt.

As I pulled out my wallet she looked at me, “Out of pure morbid curiosity I’ll watch you play a hand or two, then I’m out of here.” She assured me.

I shook my head tossing money in the center of the table.

As Goat made change I looked at her. She’s quite remarkable. I want to feel her flesh heat under my hand.

She rolled her eyes as I slid my hand under her shirt at her stomach. “Men.”

She chose to ignore me for the next three hands. I don’t like being ignored so I folded and scooped her up like a child.

She was horrified and let me know it, “Put me down!!” She started to punch me in the arm but stopped and looked at Slider. “Please ask your brother to put me down.”

Slider smiled and sat back with one of his evil grins. The man loves to create drama, then bitches about it when it comes back to bite him in the ass. “I don’t know Peach, he seems quite enamored with you.”

She let out an exasperated breath. “Please? You know I don’t

He sat forward, “What Georgia? You don’t what?” He asked as if challenging her. Why is he challenging her?

She squirms trying to get down but I hold her firmly in my arms. “I don’t date.” She seemed be trying to recover from something.

“And what’s wrong with my brothers?” He challenged her again leaving me more confused now than before.

“Nothing!” She spun on me and pushed hard against my chest. “Put me down.” She snarled between clenched teeth.

“Careful Georgia.” Slider warns sitting back satisfied he has our full attention. Half the bar is interested now too. Great.

She looks at him, “What are you doing?”

“Whatever I feel like. You owe me, and this family. Or have you forgotten?” He asked cryptically.

She inhaled and exhaled slowly, “What do you want?”

Slider nodded his head, “I want to know why my biggest, meanest, ugliest, brother is interested in you all of a sudden.”

I cleared my throat and gave Slider a look I know he can read. He owes me for last year. I aim to collect now.

He studies me for a full twenty seconds, then nods, “Go. I’ll cover it here. Call before you come back.”

I nodded and carried a very upset Georgia to my bike. I set her on her feet just in time for her to cold cock me right in the jaw. I don’t flinch because she’s just a woman, but I’ve been hit by enough women to know she packs a good punch.

“What the fuck are you doing? Let go of me!” She yelled.

I spun her around and bent her over my seat. I pinned her with my knees and captured her hands with mine. When I got her restrained I smacked her just hard enough on her firm perfect ass twice to get her attention.

“Ow!! FUCK!!” She started to fight harder so I kept her there.

When she refused to calm down I pulled her hair away from her neck and dug my chin into her collar bone to stop her dead in her violent thrash. The pain can be quite sharp if done right.

“Ow. Stop. Let me up, I won’t hit you again.” She promised.

I inhaled her scent and slowly let her up.

She rubbed her wrists before resting her hand on her tush. “I didn’t think Slider approved of his brothers beating women.”

I shrugged. If she thinks that was a beating she’s sadly mistaken. I don’t beat women, but I love leaving a nice red mark. I don’t like to be forgotten soon after I’m gone. The women who put up with my sexual needs tend to need a few days off after me. I like that.

“I have half a mind to go back in there and tell him what you just did.” She threatened me and my groin twitched. That doesn’t happen when women scold me, if anything, it annoys me.

I quickly found the metal cuffs I’d shoved in my back pocket for one of Stacy’s girls later. I slapped one on her right wrist and set her on my backseat.
