He entered her again and again until his entire shaft was inside her. He bent down and held her tits as he continued to thrust inside her and they moaned in unison as he took one long thrust, exploding inside her. He swirled her around and caught her eyes turning back to their normal amber from a burning red. Her fangs had sprung out at the edge of her mouth and Thomas leaned down and kissed her.

Nessa ran her fingers through his hair and embraced him.

“You want my fangs to sting your lips” she asked between breaths as he kissed him.

“I wouldn’t mind if you stung me Nessa” he said still embracing her.

“I see we’re doing everything to turn aren’t we?” she teased.

“Why won’t you turn me Nessa, I’d be in a better position to help you fight the Reigns, you don’t know how bad and helpless I feel each time we come across them and you have to be the one protecting me” he said as he pulled back from her mouth and looked into her eyes.

Her fangs had gone back to normal and her eyes glistened in the bathroom’s lighting.

“I am not going to put you through this Thomas, you don’t know what you’re asking for. I myself would give anything to be a mortal, to experience what every normal mortal experiences”.

“You mean you wish to get old Nessa” he asked with a surprised face.

“I wish to be normal Thomas, just normal” she said as she looked deep into his eyes and shook her head.

“Please do not insist on me turning you, you don’t know how much it breaks my heart when you do” she said.

“But why, is it wrong that I want to protect you, that I want to be with you forever?” he asked, his tone getting louder with frustration.

“This is a curse Thomas, a curse I was born with and one I wouldn’t wish anyone to have” she argued.

“I don’t care if it’s a curse Nessa, all I know is I want to be with you forever, please Nessa I’m begging you to let me protect you, I just want to make you happy” he continued.

“If you really want to make me happy Thomas, then you’ll never ask me to turn you” she said as she took a towel from a hanging hook then headed out the bathroom.

Thomas hated it when they argued. Although they’d been together for six months, their arguments had begun only recently when he discovered she was a vampire. He wanted to be turned so he’d be in a better position to defend her when they encountered the Reigns.

He felt so helpless every time they got into a fight and he couldn’t do anything. Their last attack had been almost fatal. He got bit by one Reign and Marcus sucked the Reigns blood out of his system before he could turn.

The worries on Nessa’s face every time he got hurt only made him feel worse. He didn’t understand why she didn’t want to turn him, but he was going to respect her decision if it was the only way to keep their peace. He wanted to be with her and if staying human was the only way to make her happy, then he wasn’t going to insist.

“Listen honey, I’m sorry, I hate it when we fight and I’m not going to insist on this subject anymore” Thomas said as he walked back to their room to find Nessa brushing her hair.

She stopped and looked at him, he’d wound a towel on his waist to cover his nakedness.

“I hate fighting with you too honey, you don’t know what it’s like being a vampire, it’s not as easy as you think. I’d hate myself Thomas, since it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, especially someone I love so much” she said.

Thomas walked to her side and embraced her tightly.

“I’m sorry honey” he muffled.

Chapter 2

Back in Trina’s room, she stood at the balcony looking down at everyone going about their businesses. As she looked down, she noticed Ariel talking to some Araneas and wondered where Jack had gone to. Her thoughts were distracted with a knock on her door.

When she went back inside her room, she opened the door and saw Jack standing there. Without a word, she turned and walked back into the room.

“Hey, what’s wrong babe, did I do something wrong?” Jack asked with a puzzled face as he walked up behind her.

“No, nothing” she said without looking back at him.

“Hey, hey, hey, Trina, look at me” he said as he took her arm and swirled her around.

“Talk to me, what’s wrong?” he continued as he looked into her eyes to see hurt playing behind them.

“I saw how you looked at Ariel, have you two ever been an item?” she asked as she swallowed hard to hide her jealousy.

“Ariel and me?, no babe she’s just a friend, we’ve been friends since we were kids and there’s never been anything between us, I promise” he answered as he held her shoulders.

“You forgot I existed the minute you saw her, and the way you looked at her, have you ever had feelings for her?” she continued.

“No babe, I swear, we are just friends, and I’m so sorry if I made you feel neglected. It’s just that it’s been so long since I last saw her and everything was just because I’d missed my friend. You have totally nothing to be jealous about” he assured her.

“Are you sure Jack?” she asked as a tear ran down her cheek.

“I promise Trina, I promise” he said as he wiped the tear drop with his thumb.

“Ok Jack” she said as she embraced him.

Jack pulled back slightly and kissed her lightly then passionately, pulling her to him as he ran his hands to her ass. He cared so much about her and he’d never wish for her to doubt him since he genuinely liked her a lot.

Their actions were interrupted by a scream from the compound. It was almost dark and Jack rushed to the balcony to see what had happened. He jumped from the balcony to the ground and rushed to the bush to see what had happened.

Trina ran down stairs and Nessa and Thomas followed. They went to the bushes and found a shaken boy on the ground. Connor and Marcus pushed through the crowd that had now surrounded him and Ariel knelt down and embraced the little boy.

“What happened honey” she asked the little lad.

“I had gone to collect my ball when I saw a scary man with red eyes. He had sharp teeth and his ears were so big” the little boy said with a shaken voice.

“His nose was so ugly like that of a pig” he continued.

“Trackers” Ariel said as she scanned the woods.

“That must have been a vampire tracker, did you see anything when you were driving here?” she asked Connor.

“No, I didn’t see anything” Connor answered as he looked at Marcus then Nessa and Trina.

“I thought I saw someone on a cliff one time before we got here” Thomas said.

“How did he look?” Ariel asked as she rose up with the little boy.

“I never got a good look, but it’s like he had a long coat. I only noticed some redness in his eyes, he was so far though, I even thought I’d imagined it” he explained.

“Cliff hangers” Ariel said as she looked at Connor.

“Vampires use cliff hangers to follow their preys and then use trackers to give an exact location” Ariel explained as she looked at Connor with a worried expression on her face.

“They’ll be here any minute now” she continued as she looked at the congregation that had just surrounded them.

Connor looked at Marcus and shook his head.

“Everyone to the tunnels” he ordered.

The women hurried with their children and ran to the tunnels.

The Araneas had created tunnels under ground to protect their children and women in case they were attacked. It had food and medicine to ensure they could stay safe over a long period of time. They also trained a group of fighters who would defend their kind in times of battle. There hadn’t been a battle on their camp in a very long time and this would prove to be a first after thirty years. The last battle had been between them and vampires before they came to a peace-pact that saw them having their territory and the Araneas couldn’t get on the vampire’s territory either.

That’s where Connor met Marcus and they began their friendship. When Danton, the leader of the Reigns who was then dead wanted to take charge of all the vampires and the mortals, the vampires split into two groups where there was the Reigns and the Anti-reigns. The Araneas had vowed to defend their kind and now with Marcus there, they’d joined arms to fight the Reigns.

Thomas helped the kids and mothers get into the tunnel and everyone ran hurriedly trying to take whatever they could. Marcus had instructed Nessa and Trina to get in the tunnel with Thomas and the rest as soon as everybody was in.

Conner spoke to his trained Araneas and gave instructions. They were built and trained for battle. Most women drooled over them as they trained and although it was such a sight, it was time to put their training into action.

Ariel helped Nessa and Thomas to get the kids into the tunnel and as she did, she looked across the compound and saw Trina and Jack.

“Please be safe babe, I don’t know what I’d do without you” Trina said as she caressed Jacks face with the back of her hands.

“I’ll be careful honey, I promise”

Ariel felt a twinge of envy creep inside her. She’d never seen Jack like that, she knew he was in love. Although they’d never been more than friends, she didn’t understand why she felt as she did.

In a split second, her thoughts were distracted by movement she heard from the forest, they were many footsteps and they were closing in on them.

“They are here!!!!!” she yelled and Connor looked at her direction to see if the tunnels’ door was closed.

He sprang in the air and rushed toward the gate to help carry some boys who were walking into the tunnel.

Nessa had gone to get a little girl who sat on the ground playing with her doll, and as she picked her up a Reign jumped from the woods on top of her.

“Nessa!!!!!” Ariel screamed as she jumped in the air on top on the vampire and sliced his throat with her fangs.

Nessa rose up and ran with her extraordinary speed to the tunnel. Thomas had already gone inside the tunnel but when he saw the vampire attack her, he ran out to try and help her but Connor held him back.

The Aranea army turned into spiders and formed a circle in readiness for attack. Nessa took the little girl inside the tunnel and when she called out for Thomas, she didn’t hear him. Looking out of the tunnel, she saw Thomas on the ground and a Reign on top of him.

“Thomas!!!!!” she screamed as she went out of the tunnel before Connor pushed it shut.

Before she could get to Thomas, Trina jumped on top of the vampire and ripped his head off. Nessa rushed to his side and pulled him up. The Reigns jumped out of the trees in twos and there must have been more than sixty of them.
