“Ba
by, it's not moving fast enough,” he teased him openly.

Cormag smiled into the kiss as they met halfway. With a brief brush of tongues and a sensual moan that escaped him, Lachlan parted from their kiss a happy man. He didn't even know what to say as he watched Cormag return to his seat and his lunch, beaming like the Cheshire Cat.

Chapter 29
One Month Later

A month passed and Lachlan was deliriously happy. Apart from losing Konnor, things had been going magnificently. His dad had met Cormag a total of three times and allowed him to stay over once. It hadn't been that first weekend, as he'd hoped, but a fortnight later they got two and a half days together in his house.

Cormag had been given a special notice at work, for bringing in a wealthy contributor with his well formed tour of the museum. And he'd managed to meet his deadline on time. In response to that notice and a subsequent bonus, he had decided to treat them both. They'd star
ted by given the bedroom a makeover. Cormag had bought a few special books for the ever growing library at home and bought Lachlan a top of the range laptop and a typewriter, because he'd expressed a desire to write. It had only been an idea, a fanciful whim, but knowing that Cormag supported him in that was an incredible feeling.

Lachlan had decided he wasn't going to go to college after all. He would use that money to quit his job at the bar and start focusing on his writing career. He had decided to join Cormag at the museum, which he enjoyed, and write in his spare time. That way he got to indulge in two hobbies without compromising on either of them. He could use the knowledge he obtained at the museum to write war stories, with Cormag's know-how. It seemed such a sensible plan that even his own parents didn't question his resolve to see it happen. Everyone was behind him one hundred percent.

Surprisingly, his parents were overjoyed to hear that he'd been 'invited' to move some things into Cormag's house. His mother thought it was an invitation to actually move in with him, while his dad insisted that it showed how serious Cormag was about their relationship. Apparently he approved, but not enough that he was allowed to always be at his house and never at home. So they had come to a compromise. He spent every second weekend and two nights a week with Cormag, keeping the rest of his time focused on school and his own house.

While Cormag worked, Lachlan either worked or studied. When he wasn't studying for his exams he was typing away on his laptop, putting short stories and novels together from nothing. And when they had time together, their relationship blossomed. They still hadn't ventured into real sex yet, but neither were in a rush; they had plenty of other intimate things they could and did do with each other.

Things were going so well that Harper and Monroe had both been to the house, enjoying a day of sports on the TV. Coly and Justice had been by to share in some male bonding time and some beer while Jax and Hayes would show up at his house for video games and rugby.

It was almost perfect. Except that Konnor, the one who should have been there for all the big events in his life to hear him gush and be the first to know he was falling in love, was nowhere in sight. He wasn't there and it hurt Lachlan every day to know that he couldn't pick up his phone and call him about something that had happened.

***

Lachlan lay on the floor in the library, bored as he waited for Cormag to finish work. He'd got out of school an hour ago and it was his first night staying over at his house in nearly three days. Thanks to his father's rules he could change what two days he was staying over, depending on when he felt like it. So since it was also his weekend to stay with him, he had decided to stay over for the Thursday and Friday night, which gave him four days in a row to be with him. It was going to be incredible.

He had his headphones in, as he lay there staring at the painted ceiling. In a few weeks he would sit his exams and then high school would be over. He couldn't wait. He had his mother's promise that once he had left high school and he'd been with Cormag a year she would talk to his dad about him moving out of the house. He probably wasn't going to take it all that well, but he was trying to conform to every rule he had ever made about his new relationship, to keep him happy. Lachlan wanted to prove that he was willing to work hard to stay with Cormag, no matter what obstacles he put in his way.

Something touched his cheek, soft and familiar. That was the first he knew of falling asleep. When it was followed by gentle pressure on his lips he knew he was waking up and not slipping into a dream. He blinked his eyes open and pulled the he
adphone buds from his ears. “Hi.” He smiled as he sat beside him on the floor.

“Hey…I thought you were going with Hayes to his interview?” Cormag asked, brushing his hand over his t-shirt.

“They called and postponed it. Something about a leak in the building,” He replied, since he'd been a little annoyed himself at his plans being changed at the last minute.

Cormag had only decided to work late because he'd agreed to accompany Hayes to his first job interview. As soon as it was called off
, his friend called up a girl from school and asked her out to the movies, leaving him in the lurch. Not one to stand in the way of romance he'd headed for Cormag's house and clearly fallen asleep.

“If you'd have told m
e I would have been home sooner,” he said, mischievously. But as Lachlan smiled up at him in surprise, he realised that he wasn't talking about coming home early to see him. And since he was
finally
acting like he was interested in taking what they had a step further, he sat up and tested the waters.

“I'll remember that,” he promised, as he leaned in and pressed their lips together.

Cormag kissed him back passionately, nipping at his lower lip before he licked it. Lachlan dutifully parted his lips and kissed him for all he was worth; if he was in a playful mood then all the better. He wound his fingers into his hair and closed his eyes to the now familiar shots of pleasure that coursed through him whenever they kissed.

Inside his head Lachlan was shouting, 'About time!', as he felt Cormag's hands tugging his t-shirt out of his jeans. He'd been trying to get under his clothes for three weeks now and he was not having it, even though he had reminded him that they'd been in the shower together twice. He wasn't about to jeopardise this moment when he had waited for it for weeks; he chose not to assume anything. And he was right not to; as soon as his t-shirt was out of his jeans it stayed on as Cormag cheated and slid his hands underneath it.

Lachlan pulled back from their kiss and stared at Cormag in disbelief. “Really?” he asked, finally giving in to his frustration.

His far too delectable man stared back at him, completely clueless.

“That's it? That's all you're going to do?” he wondered, knowing it was stupid for him to feel so disappointed.

“I thought we weren't rushing this?” Cormag smiled at him in understanding.

“Rushing is one thing, but going at a snail's pace is ridiculous. I want…something. More. Something more than above the waist,” he admitted the truth.

It wasn't even about the fact that he was the only virgin in his entire year. It wasn't because they had been together a month and even Coly, the sensible one who took things slow, thought that they should be doing more than kissing by now. He didn't care about anyone else, but he did care about the fact that Cormag was avoiding his nether regions like the plague. It was humiliating and embarrassing and he half wondered if he
ever
wanted to go that far with him.

“Love, we
have all the time in the world,” Cormag said, cupping his face in his hands and smiling with those damned sexy eyes. This time it didn't work.

“I don't
want
all the time in the world. I want
you.
Now. Naked. Right
now,
” he insisted, letting out a sigh of uncertainty.

He knew this could easily turn into their first huge fight; they'd had a few over the last month, small ones and one big one, but this could be the deal breaker. This could change everything and he wanted it to, but only in a positive way.

“I'm sorry. I know I sound like a spoiled brat demanding my own way, but I don't understand why you won't. Tell me and I promise I'll not ask again,” he vowed.

It was so confusing as Lachlan watched him for a reaction. His eyes said he loved him and wanted nothing more than to get him into bed, but his smile said that he could sit there staring at him forever. And that was fine, but he needed to know why. Some logical, ridiculous, sensible, stupid reason. Anything.

“You're a virgin.”

Lachlan fell back to the floor with a groan of frustration.
Why
was that a reason not to take things further? He covered his face with his hands and tried to calm himself down. He was acting like a real ass, but he couldn't help it. For the first time in his life he wanted all the physical things that came with a relationship, only instead of having some stupid girl trying to push them on him he wanted them for himself. With Cormag. And his gorgeous, selfless guy wasn't letting him have them.

“Lachlan,” he said, making him pull his hands away. Cormag was smiling when he looked up at him, already reaching down to brush his thumb over his cheekbone. “Okay.” He nodded, as the acceptance and love that was in his eyes finally reached his smiling lips. “If you're ready to move on then we will. But not all at once. This isn
't a sprint race to see how fast we can get to the finish line. It's more like a decathlon,” he claimed, using one of the worst possible analogies he could imagine.

“Not even a triathlon? You had to go for the ten?” Lachlan complained a little. He didn't want to say anything that changed his mind, but seriously? He couldn't have picked something smaller, something that didn't sound like forever?

Cormag laughed and leaned right over him, with those bedroom eyes. “Yes. Because these things take time. And so will we,” he said, placing a kiss on his lips. He managed to kiss back before the next words spilled out of him.

“Not even a heptathlon?”

Sometimes he wished he could shut up. Cormag looked him over from head to toe and finally looked convinced. “Maybe. If you're patient,” he agreed, as if he would have to test him to see how patient he could be.

When he was kissed so softly that it was almost not a kiss, Lachlan wondered if he was being teased or tested.

“Is this the part where you say we start next month?” he asked, hoping the answer was a no. He didn't have enough patience to wait that long; he would probably say or do something stupid that would drive him away. And he couldn't risk that.

“Nope,” h
e whispered the words against his lips and then kissed him deeply.

Lachlan was so relieved that he wrapped his arms around him and held him there, so he couldn't escape, as he caressed the tongue invading his mouth. He surrendered gladly.

Chapter 30

Lachlan waited long enough to be convinced it wasn't a test, before he started undoing the buttons of Cormag's shirt. Unlike the two other times he had tried the same move he wasn't stopped and give
n 'that look' that said he was an adorable puppy who wanted to play. Instead the comfortable weight of another body gently lowered onto his as he undid the last button. He had enough room to push it to the side and slip it off his shoulders.

Cormag parted from their kiss, surprising him. He was going to draw him back down again when he caught that look in his eyes. He'd seen it before, but only for a moment before it was shaken off and stashed away. That look said that he wasn't the only one who wanted a hell of a lot less fabric between them, as his shirt was pulled off and tossed aside.

“My turn,” he said, almost absently as if he was thinking out loud.

Lachlan couldn't help but laugh happily as that dark head dropped to kiss his neck and strong hands slid under his t-shirt again. He cupped the back of Cormag's head in his hand, only to let go again when his t-shirt was lifted up. He lifted his arms and raised his shoulders off the floor until his top could be discarded and closed his eyes in contentment when lips touched his collarbone.

“I love your body,” Cormag muttered, making him feel a little giddy.

A talented mouth sucked on his nipple, eradicating all ability to think from Lachlan's mind. He felt the button on his jeans being flipped open and the zip being pulled down, so he lifted his hips to allow them to be removed. He managed to reach out and start undoing his jeans, until a hand stopped him. He opened his eyes, disappointed as all of the lovely things he'd been feeling suddenly stopped.

“I don't need to be naked for what I'm going to do,” Cormag explained in a soft whisper, doing nothing as he hovered over him.

“Do I have to say this again?” He laughed, caressing his cheek to let him know he wasn't joking. “I
want
you naked,” Lachlan reiterated what he wanted and waited. Either he would get it or he wouldn't.

Cormag looked curious and a little surprised, but the hand was removed and he tried his luck. He undid his jeans and tugged them over his well sculpted thighs, letting Cormag do the rest when he insisted. Eventually they were gone completely and they were both naked for only the third time in the entire month they had known each other. Lachlan couldn't help himself; he had never indulged in such a thing when they showered together, mostly because he thought it was a little rude to go looking when he wasn't supposed to. But this time he lowered his gaze to take in the extraordinary specimen of a man he was with.

“Like what you see?” Cormag asked, sounding unsure.

“Of course I do,” h
e confessed the truth; he was more than impressed by what he saw. Even more so since he knew that Cormag liked how he looked too.

As if some major decision had been made
, Lachlan found himself back where he'd been a few moments before; worshipped with kisses all over his body. He hummed low in appreciation as Cormag's mouth drifted below his waist.
This
was what he'd wanted.

He groaned as strong fingers wrapped around his throbbing cock and began tormenting him with slow, strong strokes. He vaguely wondered if it was possible to go crazy from having someone's skilled hand on his cock or if the amount of time he'd been made to wait for it would factor into it. The way Cormag worked him, with one hand pumping his shaft in such a lingering, teasing way as his tongue intermittently lapped at the head, was far too much for him to comprehend. He had never known it could feel that way.

When Lachlan thought it couldn't get any better he felt soft, wet lips enveloping him and slowly working their way down his shaft. He just about lost his mind when Cormag took him in deep and began a whole new torture.

“Fuck.” The word trailed off into a moan before he even got half of it out. He couldn't even find breath enough to swear, as he pushed one hand into the floor to ground himself. He wanted something to hold onto, preferably Cormag, but he also didn't want to do anything that interrupted the incredible rhythm he was working up. A hand continued to work the base of his shaft, while those sinful lips stroked, a tongue caressed and licked him and Cormag's head bobbed up and down over his cock. He tried hard to control himself, but it was nearly impossible with the way he was so expertly handled.

“I…I can't…” He panted, trying to warn him that he couldn't take it much longer. He felt he'd put up a worthy fight against losing control, but either Cormag didn't get the point or he didn't care because he didn't stop.

It felt like forever passed, with that mouth sucking him hard and Cormag increasing the pressure of his hand to help him hold on. It wasn't working. But it wasn't until Lachlan reached out to him, gripping the hair at the base of his neck for some kind of contact that he realised how intense that moment was.

Cormag groaned and his hand shook a little as he moved it from the base of his cock to his balls. He spotted his elbow moving at his side to as fast a pace as his head was bobbing and he knew. He knew that this amazing man sucking him was trying to take care of his own need so that he didn't feel obliged to reciprocate. It was so unfair. He could tell they were going to have to argue about that too.

When Lachlan realised that he wasn't going to be able to hold on long he couldn't help but let his logical brain interrupt the joy. They had both been tested, at his insistence even though Cormag had said it was too soon. And he was glad for that since they hadn't exactly used any safety measures and the one thing that stopped him from being able to enjoy the moment was the uncertainty. He didn't know if he was supposed to or allowed to come in his mouth or if that would be rude, since they hadn't talked about it yet.

Deciding to err on the side of caution he gripped Cormag's hair hard and yanked him off him. For a second he looked surprised and then Cormag stuck his tongue out. Lachlan bit his lip as he watched him trail the tip of his tongue the entire length of his aching cock. When he closed his mouth around his head again and sucked hard, he lost control. He came long and hard to what was absolutely, without a doubt, the best orgasm he had ever had in his life.

He guessed that answered that question. Cormag kept him in his mouth, twisting his head and bobbing over him a few times as he tried desperately not to look away. Lachlan wanted to close his eyes and ride it out, but he was frustrated that he'd come alone.

Cormag was still able to think clearly and that was wrong. His cock was still hard in his loose grip, so Lachlan reached out and placed his hand on the side Cormag wasn't holding. As soon as he felt his touch their eyes met and he made his point clear by kissing him.

Cormag kissed back slowly, as if to savour the moment, as Lachlan used his hand to bring
him
to the best orgasm of
his
life. He knew he'd succeeded when he had to pull back from their kiss and bury his face in the floor, letting out a strangled grunt as though his climax had come as a surprise.

“Baby,” Lachlan wasn't sure why he couldn't look at him. He felt breathless and drained from the high of his orgasm
, but every cell in his body was telling him that he couldn't close his eyes yet because he never wanted to look away from Cormag. But he wouldn't look at him; he kept his face hidden in the floor. “Look at me,” he asked.

Cormag finally lifted his head and met his gaze with a guilty look in his eyes that said he'd got carried away with himself.

“I wanted this. I've wanted it for a while. It's not a one off for me, while I decide how I feel about it. Don't think this is bad,” he begged him not to regret it. He didn't know what he'd do if he said they weren't allowed to do it again.

Cormag kissed his lips, lingering for a moment.
“The only thing I regret is that I made you wait because I was too scared to confront the issue,” he said. That didn't matter. Nothing mattered now.

“Then why wouldn't you look at me?”

“Because you're so fucking beautiful.” Cormag flopped down onto the floor on his back. “Most of the time I can't stand looking at you because I can't believe you're really here. That you want me. But right now…it's surreal. Half of me is afraid that I'll wake up in the morning and all of this will be a dream. That I'll have made you up and you don't exist,” he said, turning his head to gaze at him.

“That's adorable.” Lachlan beamed back at him, delighted to hear him being so lovely about it. At least he didn't regret it and wasn't going to say they could never be so close again.

“Lachlan!” he complained, laughing rather than being angry.

He managed to turn onto his side, though he felt as if all his bones had melted into the floor, and trailed his fingertips over Cormag's bare chest. “What? I love that you think like that. I'm not exactly thrilled that you only think that way because you're scared you're going to lose
me. You won't. I won't allow it,” he informed him. And he meant it. He wouldn't let anyone take him away from where he wanted to be.

“You know, I almost believe you.” Cormag reached up and brushed the back of his finger over his jaw.

“Well believe it. Or should I convince you again?” he asked, kissing his finger as soon as it was close enough. Lachlan laughed and brushed his lips with a feather light touch.

“You're serious? You can go again?”

“Not right this second, but give me five minutes and absolutely.” Lachlan had no problem admitting that. Cormag kept acting like he was ten years older than him and he was this big bad older guy, but he wasn't. The two years between them was nothing that he couldn't handle and it certainly didn't make him old. “I love you, you big galoot,” he confessed, with no idea why that moment seemed to be the right time. It probably wasn't, but every instinct he had was telling him to say it, so he did.

“So you say you love me, but yo
u insult me at the same time?” he asked teasingly. He didn't even mind that he hadn't said it back. He hadn't expected him or even wanted him to; he had to say it.

“I
can take it back if you like?” he offered jokingly.

Cormag suddenly caught him around the neck with both hands and dragged him into a heated kiss. He kind of loved that it was partly to shut him up and partly because he was lost for words. Lachlan kissed back, moaning in complaint when the teasing tongue stroking his suddenly went away.

“I love you too,” Cormag promised, smiling at him like he had never been happier.

Lachlan felt exactly the same, so he took advantage of the moment. He resumed the kissing and let his fingertips go walking over perfect, well toned skin until they found his well endowed cock.

“You such a tease,” Cormag claimed, as he let his touch drift and flutter over him with no real purpose.

“You don't know the half of it,” h
e agreed, feeling playful as he looked him over. Before he could formulate a solid plan he was kissed so hard that it pushed all thoughts from his mind.
