Monte’s heart pounded in his chest. He was behind Curtis and another agent. BJ was behind two more agents. They were making their move when they could hear Susanna’s screams.

“Hold tight, Monte. We have to stick to the plan,” Curtis stated, and they heard the other teams move in, and then it was their turn to enter through the staircase and contain the front and inner part of the apartment.

The teams were able to disarm the guards one after another without warning Casper of their approach. Monte was behind Curtis and BJ behind him as they entered behind the first team. They cleared each room and Susanna’s screams could be heard in the distance.

Gunshots went off, and one of the agents was shot. Monte pulled the trigger on his Glock and took out the guard. They move swiftly as the others came in behind them. The bedroom door was slightly ajar, and Monte could see a large man standing on the bed over what looked like a naked woman. As his hand rose up, he saw the belt and Curtis shoved open the door.

“Freeze, asshole!”

Casper jumped off the bed and reached for a gun on the bedside table. He turned to shoot and Monte and BJ ducked as bullets flew past them.

Casper turned toward Susanna and shot twice as BJ and Monte shot Casper, killing him instantly.

Susanna screamed, and they rushed to her side.

“Oh God, baby. It’s going to be okay. We got you,” Monte whispered as Curtis handed BJ a knife.

They saw the blood on her arm. A bullet had grazed her skin.

She cried as they gently lowered her arms to the bed.

“Paramedics are on their way up,” Curtis stated.

Monte looked over her injuries, and he was worried about her. Casper could have killed her.

“She looks bad, Monte. I don’t think we should move her.” BJ touched her fingers. She squeezed them tight.

“It hurts.”

Monte grabbed her other hand. “Help is on the way, baby.”

“Casper? Where is he?” she asked in a shaky voice.

“He’s dead, baby. He’ll never hurt you again.”

Epilogue

Susanna sat on the couch between BJ and Monte. Her legs were crossed, and they each had their hand on her thigh. Around the room the women sat and talked about Dixie Chix and Alexa’s and Sally’s new positions as Ava and Susanna trained them.

“We’ll learn fast. Don’t worry,” Alexa told Susanna.

“Yeah, working for you was all we thought about while on the run.” Sally smiled.

“This is perfect and exactly how I wanted things to work out,” Susanna stated, and Ava stared at her.

“Exactly how you planned? I think not. I’m still angry with you for risking your life the way you did. Every time you run off cocked and ready for a fight, all hell breaks loose.”

They chuckled.

“Well, I’m still mad at you for opening up that safe and thinking I was dead already.”

“What? I had no choice. Your two overpowering and dominating boyfriends wanted answers.”

“Well, if you hadn’t told them and showed them the files, who knows what would have happened. The point is, we’re a team and we stick together.”

“That’s right. We are a team,” Paula added.

“No matter what, we always stick together, even if things seem really bad and as if we’re all alone,” Juliet stated and they agreed.

“We have a couple of hours before we have to be at work. I have some ideas to go over,” Susanna said.

“You’re not going in to work yet, Susanna,” Monte told her.

“What?” she replied as the others began to get up and slowly slink out of the room.

“You’re resting. Your ribs and thighs are bruised, your lip’s still swollen, and we’re not letting you out of our sight for quite some time,” BJ stated and Monte smiled. “You need a break and your friends agree.”

She looked toward her friends, and they smiled and gave little waves with their hands. “Have fun,” Ava stated.

“This is what y’all call sticking together? Come on now, Dixie Chix, I need your help,” she yelled after them, but they ignored her as they laughed and headed out the front door.

Susanna crossed her arms in front of her chest and sulked as she lowered herself deeper into the cushions.

“I don’t believe this. I feel fine and I love my job.”

“We know that you love your job, but there a few things we need to go over with you,” BJ stated.

“Like what?” she asked.

“Like if this relationship between the three of us is going to work, then you need to trust us, baby. You can’t continue to think that you are going to handle everything on your own,” Monte stated.

“Yeah, do you realize that if you had confided in us sooner, then we could have avoided the scare you gave us?” BJ added.

She stared at them in awe of their true concern.

“I’m sorry, for a lot of things, guys, really I am. I’m sorry that I could for one moment think that the two of you would be anything like Casper.”

“Don’t say that fuck’s name,” Monte scolded, and she clutched his hand and locked her fingers with his. She brought his knuckles to her lips and kissed them.

She reached for BJ’s hand and brought it onto her lap.

“I should have trusted you both, especially with your experience and in your professions. I have a lot to learn about relationships and about trust. But know that I do trust both of you. I want to give this relationship a shot, but I can’t jump in full throttle and not have reservations. It stemmed from my past, and only time will help heal me. Of course, with help from my two sexy, hot boyfriends,” she teased.

Monte and BJ began to caress her legs open, and they gently made their way up her shorts.

“Sexy, hot boyfriends, huh? I can live with that,” Monte replied.

“Me too.”

BJ leaned into her and kissed her neck on one side while Monte kissed her neck on the other side.

“I think we have some ideas to help ease your reservations, Miss Susanna,” Monte teased. She absorbed their touch and the way they made her pussy clench, and her heart soared in adoration of her two fine men.

“Oh really? What were you thinking?” She smoothed her hands down their thighs and cupped their crotches.

“You better watch yourself, Miss Susanna. We mean business.” BJ pressed a finger against her clit.

She closed her eyes and moaned as she gave their cocks a squeezed through their pants.

“So do I,” she whispered.

Monte scooped her up as if she weighed nothing at all, scaring the heck out of her, and he carried her upstairs to her bedroom. They made quick work of removing their clothing and hers then made love to her for the afternoon and into the night.

As she lay in their arms, she thought about her new life and the lives of her friends. They were all survivors and would hopefully learn to trust again and have the same experience she did with opening up her heart and allowing her guard down a bit. She’d help each of them, even if she had to find the right man and help settle them down. She took her role as provider and leader seriously. She chuckled to herself. Maybe she’d start with Ava. Now that woman needed to find true love.

She snuggled closer against her men and thought about tomorrow. Dixie Chix was the best idea she’d ever had, and it would be a legacy to leave behind for women just like her and her friends.

This was only the beginning. Sally and Alexa had a lot to learn, and the others may find it amusing now to help conspire against her with Monte and the sheriff, but she would have the last laugh. Perhaps playing matchmaker was in Susanna’s very near future.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.

My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern-day arranged marriage kind of thing, and my momma downright refused.

Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English-speaking Southerners, they wanted the family bloodline to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.

Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true Southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.

Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
