They stood still and listened,
not hearing anything they went over to the door and Angel stuck his head out
the door and listened. He could hear steps coming up the stairs and quickly
pulled his head in and closed the door. He quietly pushed the bolt through and
they waited.

They could hear the Renegades
talking to themselves as they came up the stairs but not what they were saying.
They listened and heard them stop at the door above and could just hear some
voices. One of the voices was very commanding and they felt it to be the
Renegade who was casting the spell.

Angel and the others used their
magic to feel the spell up in the room above, only to find it had been stopped.
The Renegade had stopped the spell when the others arrived but with them there
he will have the four of them now to cast the spell and that will make it
stronger.

Suddenly they heard them up in
the room casting the spell again and quickly using their magic felt the spell
to see how strong it was. To their horror they could feel the spell was now
very strong and getting stronger as the main Renegade got to enhance his spell
as he cast it.

Angels little group using their
magic went out to the old spell and the area around the hole just hoping the
healing spell would be able to hold them back. They found their hope dashed as
the old spell started to peel back. Then they could see other little areas just
starting to do the same. It was spreading and there was nothing they could do
to stop it.

Medwin Asked Angel what he had
seen in the spell? ‘Angel tell us what happened when you went into the spell
that pushed you out.’

‘I went deep into the spell to
see what the difference was in it, for there was something so very strange
about the spell and the magic in it. I got to where I could feel the magic, the
strange magic and what I found was Evil. The magic is just so evil that
anything it touched would make it hard to fight. That is what is changing the
spell and making it fight the old spell and the old spell has not got a
chance.’ He looked at them and they could see on his face the fear he had held
back from them.

‘It is now time to fight the
Renegades, now we fight or we die for they will not stop until the Wizard
School is in the sea. We are the only ones who can stop them and we must do it
now. The time has now come to free the Renegades dragons; we must end this
now.’ Angel moved to the door so they could go and confront the Renegades.

The Final Battle Begins

They slowly climbed the stairs up
to the room the Renegades were in. They could feel the magic in the air as they
slowly got closer to the room at the top of the stairs. As they reached the
top, there came another ripple in their magic.

This ripple was a lot stronger;
it felt like the spell was crying out to them for help. Angel moved to the door
and poked his head around the corner of the door to see where they were. As he
looked he could see the main Renegade with his back to him and the other three
were spread out around the room but all looking at the main Renegade. He was
the one controlling the magic in that room.

Then it struck Angel the three
other Renegades could see the spell the main Renegade was casting. He could now
see it with his normal eyes and not through the magic he normally uses. Looking
at the other Renegades face he could see the amazement in their eyes being able
to see the pattern of the spell.

With them being able to see the
spell they are now able to fix the areas that are not very good. As they repair
one little patch they can feel the spell getting stronger all the time. Angel
was wandering how the Renegade was able to do that for as far as they knew no
one was able to do that except them.

Angel pulls his head back and
moves back to the others where he tells them. ‘The Renegade has somehow come up
with a way of seeing the spell just like we can. With him being able to do that
the other Renegades can now repair the patches the main Renegade has missed.
This allows him to keep building the spell up and making it bigger so that it
affects the spell quicker.’

‘What can we do, the ripples that
we feel are getting more urgent all the time. They are coming quite often now.
We need to do something and soon, but what?’ Medwin looked at them, his face
unable to hide his fear.

Shylyn looked at them, knowing
what she was going to say would put them all at risk. ‘It’s like you said when
we left the room we are going to have to fight the Renegades and now. We have
to go to the door and just fire as many energy balls as we can and then run for
the deck.’

Maive nodded her head as Shylyn
finished. ‘We must do it soon as I have a feeling we don’t have much time left.
Angel it’s up to you as you are the one who can control the magic better?’

‘Ok we do like Shylyn said and
just hope we can knock at lest one of them off in that room before the rest
come storming out the tower after us. Now I want you three to fire as many
energy balls at the three normal Renegades, while I fire at the main Renegade.
With luck they will not have come across the new energy ball. If I can keep him
busy shielding himself, you will be able to get a lot more shots off at the
others. Let’s do it?’ Angel looked at them and they all looked back at him.
Their smiles were a bit weak and they knew it.

Angel moved back to the door with
the others following. He indicated with his fingers were they would go. As he
looked at the Renegades he made sure none of them were looking at the door.
When he was sure they were not looking he indicated to Medwin and Maive to
cross to the other side of the door.

Soon the four of them were ready
with two on each side of the door. Angel looked again and looked back at his
friends. He gave a nod and they did the same back to him, they were ready as
they will ever be. He looked just one more time and gave the nod, he didn’t
yell as he wanted to surprise the Renegades. They needed all the edge they
could get.

Angel held up his fingers and
started to count down by dropping a finger as he counted in his mind. As he got
to his last finger they summoned up there magic and built the energy patterns.
As Angels last finger went down they all moved into the open doorway and fired
their spells.

Angel knelt down and fired his
spells at the main Renegade hitting him. The Renegade went flying back against
the wall as the energy ball hit him. Angel had another one heading for him but
could see the Renegades shield was up in time to block it. The first one had
hurt him but not enough to stop him.

There was a look of shock on his
face as the energy ball hit him, knocking him back against the wall of the
tower. He was very quick to recover and when he seen the next one about to hit
he had his shield up in time. He looked at the person who fired the shot and
could see he was only a kid. The look he gave was one of pure evil as he tried
to get up.

The others had been able to get
at lest three shots each off at the other three Renegades, knocking them hard
against the back wall. Their three shots hit them hard and they had not been
able to get their shields up. They were lying on the ground and it looked as if
they might be dead, when there were some groans coming from some of them.

Angel had still fired more energy
balls to keep the main Renegade busy enough so he would not be able to
interfere. But he didn’t think he would be able to keep it up much longer. The
others decided to fire some more before they could recover, as there was some
movement from them.

They got another two shots each
before some more shields come up. This decided them it was time to head out
onto the deck were they will carry on the fight. They all turned and ran down
the stairs as they heard the main Renegade bellow at them. They were very sure
he was not very happy.

They ran as fast as they could
down the stairs and had just got to the door at the bottom when there came a
large ball of fire. It hit the bottom of the stars and blow bits of the stairs
away. The fire ball when it hit blowing bits of the stairs around made them hit
the ground as bits flew above their heads.

They were quickly up and out the
door and across into the middle of the deck waiting for them to come out of the
tower. They stood there and waited knowing it was time to face their fears.
Just how strong are they and can they defeat four full grown Renegade Wizards.
They were about to find out.

They heard another fire ball hit
the bottom of the stairs and bit of rocks and dust come flying out the door.
They were close enough together so they could combine their shields if they
were attacked by a lot of spells.

Angel looked at each in turn
before he spoke to them. ‘When they come out of the tower door be ready to fire
the strongest energy ball you can, if we all do it together at the first one
that comes out the door we might be able to kill him. Be ready as I think they
are coming.

Sure enough they could hear the
Renegades coming down the stairs but they could not tell how many were coming.
There was still a bit of dust blowing out the door of the tower when one of the
Renegades appeared at the door.

Angel, Medwin, Shylyn and Maive
were ready when they saw the Renegade in the dust at the door. They all fired
together and there were four energy balls as big as their heads shooting
towards the Renegade. The first one hit his shield and his shield flared a
bright pink.

The other three balls hit
together and his shield went down with him taking two of the blasts full in the
chest. They propelled him back through the door and back into the tower where
the other Renegades waited, then from the window above their came a large ball
of fire.

Angel had his shield up just in
time to deflect it away as the others brought up their shields. Medwin was the
first to recover from the surprise and sent an energy ball up at the window
were the shot came from. It went in the window and they heard a blast in the
tower with dust blowing out the window.

Medwin knew he had missed when
three Renegades came out the door firing as they come running. The fire balls
hit their shields with their shields holding. Then the Renegades fired more
fire balls which hit their shields causing them to flare bright red with flames
spreading out around the shields.

Angel knew what they were trying
to do and yelled at his friends. ‘They are trying to make us use full shields
and so stopping from firing anything at them. I have an idea let’s let them
think and see what happens, but be ready. When I give the word we fire four
energy balls at the one closest to us.’

The Renegades kept firing their
balls of fire at them making them use a full bubble of a shield. This made them
think they could not use their magic, and so they came closer to see who was
causing them so much trouble. When they got close enough they registered
surprise on their face for all they saw were just four kids.

The main Renegade just laughed at
them and spoke. ‘What do we have here just four kids being a pain. You were lucky
to get one of us but your luck has just run out. You will know while we keep
your shield up in a full bubble you are unable to use your magic. You have no
chance against full grown Wizards now you will pay dearly for your
interference.’ He just laughed at them as the other Renegades got closer for a
better look at them.

Angel and his friends called on
their dragons for their magic. As they looked at the Renegades they picked the
one closest and then they drew on their dragons magic and fired four energy
balls at the closest Renegade. The balls hit him right in the chest knocking
him back across the deck.

The other two Renegades quickly
got their shields up and moved back across the deck out of the way. The look on
the Renegades face was one of pure evil as he could not believe what had just
happened. They had knocked one of his wizards out across the deck from a full
enclosed shield.

The main Renegade walked back
over to the Renegade they had just hit to see if he was still alive. He found
him still breathing and then turned his attention back to the four kids who
just stood there within their shields. There were smiles on their faces as he
looked at them.

His expression turned ugly for no
one smiles at him and gets away with it. He builds up a spell and casts it at
the four, hitting them squire. They go flying backwards and he does the same
again and they get thrown back even further. Their shields are still holding
and this makes him even Angrier.

He is about to fire another spell
when four energy balls come shooting straight at him. He brings up his shield
just in time as they hit and knock him backwards across the deck. No one does
this to him; his thoughts were starting to get out of control for he has never
had anybody do this to him, especially not kids.

Angel had been waiting for his
attack knowing it would come but he never expected it to knock them over the
deck. The second lot had knocked them even further away. They lay there for a
minute as the Renegade goes and checks on the one they had hit.

Angel could see he was going to
do it again so they quickly got up and cast a spell of there own, this time
they fire energy balls which hit his shield and pushes him across the deck. The
other Renegade is standing to the side watching the fighting going on with the
kids.

He works his way around the deck
so he can get a spell cast at their backs when a fire balls comes at him. His
shield comes up and he blocks it and is about ready to fire one his own when
the main Renegade fires again at the kids.

The ball of fire hits the kids’
shields which are still holding against their most powerful wizard. These kids
were something they had not bargained on and were going to have to rethink on.
The renegade moves back to stand beside the main Renegade who is still angry at
what is happening.
