“Oh God, Dani, I was so worried about you,” Margo interrupted as she came practically running into the room, but before she reached Dani, Margo stopped short. Her eyes locked gazes with Vanderlan, and then she bowed before lowering to one knee.

“Oh shit, this is not good,” Dani stated aloud, and Vanderlan laughed then squeezed her hand.

“Margo, please stand. I thank you for your public show of respect, honey. I see we have ourselves quite the situation. Perhaps you may be able to clear the air?” Vanderlan asked, and Margo stood up and blushed as she looked at the vampire. Dani chuckled. Margo had good taste. That was for sure.

“She is special, sir. She is a healer,” Margo stated, and multiple responses and gasps of surprise traveled through the room. The only one who seemed somewhat calm was Vanderlan.

“I see. Who are her parents?” Vanderlan asked, and Dani stared at them.

“You know who my parents are?” Dani asked, pulling from Vanderlan and standing up.

“I am not certain, Dani. I swear this to you. All I know is that you are a healer and your destiny lies with the Fagan Pack.”

“She’s a healer? Then why after she had sex with Randolph and he bit her was he in massive pain, and her wound instantly healed?” Baher asked.

Dani was shocked at the blatant way they spoke of her and Randolph having sex. She was shy and embarrassed as she lowered her head.

“She has always had the power to heal, but until she finds her mates and seals the bond, she can’t heal her own wounds. You see, as far as we know, she is one of a kind. I am assuming that you, Vanderlan, are the vampire whose blood she shares?” Margo asked, and Vanderlan nodded his head.

“How did that happen?” Dani asked, surprised that she was even asking coherent questions.

“Not sure, really. The vamp would be the one to know. At some point, Vanderlan, you exchanged blood with a wolf or wolves. I believe that then one of those wolves mated and they had a child, that is, Dani. Then something must have happened to them. Wolves do not leave their babies for anything,” Margo explained.

“Hold the phone! Wait one darn minute. You’re serious. You’re saying that not only do I have vampire blood in me but also wolf blood?”

“Holy shit,” Miele stated.

“That’s an understatement. That’s just far out and no. No, I am not either. You are all fucking crazy!” Dani began to walk away when Vanderlan grabbed her hand.

Van was immediately against her back, his arm wrapped around her waist. Vanderlan began to breathe deeply and so did Van. Something primal and animalistic was happening here. She felt it engulf her body. Her neck burned uncontrollably and the star necklace was glowing bright.

“Holy shit!” Margo exclaimed.

Dani shook. She was wedged between Vanderlan and Van. Their massive, hard bodies aroused every inch of her.

She closed her eyes and embraced the feelings consuming her.

“This just got very complicated,” Vanderlan stated.

“Not happening vamp,” Van responded.

“No fucking way,” Randolph added, and then Bently, Miele, and Baher surrounded the three of them. The moment they all touched, Dani moaned as she felt the burning against the back of her neck cause massive pain. The star necklace fell from her neck and suddenly the room spun and she was engulfed in darkness.

“What the hell was that?” Van demanded to know as Vanderlan lifted Dani up into his arms and against his shoulder.

“You felt that?” Vanderlan asked, appearing surprised.

“I think we all did,” Miele added.

“She was in pain a moment, and she grabbed her neck,” Bently stated.

“She’s been doing that a lot lately,” Baher added.

Vanderlan lifted her a little higher against him. He knew this was an odd arrangement by the gods, but it was their destiny. He pushed her long, brown locks away from her face.

“Van, lift her hair up so they can see her neck.”

“Oh God, her necklace broke. This isn’t good,” Margo stated as she bent down to pick up the chain.

“What is this?” Van stated aloud as the others spotted what he was staring at.

“Is the mark on her neck wolf?” Vanderlan asked, knowing that it would be. She was the one he had waited for.

“It looks like a tattoo of a star but it is purple like the color of violets,” Van stated.

“She will be okay. The bond will take and we will work this all out. Somehow, we’ll work this out,” Vanderlan told them, and he squeezed Dani against his body and inhaled her scent.

“Give her to me now. She is our mate, and we will care for her.” Bently reached for Dani.

Vanderlan turned away.

“We will care for her together, wolf. She belongs to me as well.”

“So let me get this straight, you are telling us that Daniella is not only our mate but also yours?” Van asked as his incisors elongated. He was fighting his wolf just as his brothers were fighting their own.

Vanderlan nodded his head as he held Van’s gaze. The vamp’s legs were crossed as he leaned back into the single recliner, looking quite content. Van and his brothers, on the other hand, wanted to rip his fucking head off. A fucking vamp was mate to their mate? How the hell was that supposed to work? It wasn’t even heard of before.

He felt the slight uneasiness in his head and then a calming tone. At first Van leaned toward it as support and then reality hit him. He looked at Vanderlan.

“Get out of my head, bloodletter!” Van yelled then stood up and began to pace. Vanderlan remained reclined in the seat while Van’s brothers looked on the defensive.

“I mean no harm, wolf. I was trying to help you.”

“I don’t need your help. What my brothers and I need is for you to leave here.”

“That is not going to happen.” Vanderlan glanced toward the bedroom door.

It had been an hour since the incident downstairs. Margo had tried to offer some advice, but this situation was shocking, even to her, and unheard of.

Margo wanted to remain by Daniella’s side, but Vanderlan had refused her and so did the others. Instead, they sent her home and told her that they would contact her tomorrow if necessary.

“Tell us how you know that Daniella is your mate, too?” Van asked and Randolph growled low. Vanderlan looked at him with confidence and control.

“I am trying to remember when it was that I bit her relative. I would have to taste her blood myself to be sure when, but she seems strong. I thought I was after someone else.”

“You are not tasting her blood,” Randolph interjected.

“It will happen, Randolph. She will find much pleasure in it. I assure you.”

“Fuck that!” Bently yelled and stood up, prepared to fight.

“We could exchange blows over this or we could face the reality of the situation. There is more I need to tell you. While Daniella sleeps, I will explain how I located her.”

“She’s twenty-six years old. Why would it take this long for you to find her?” Miele asked Vanderlan.

“I was not searching for her, Miele. As you know, I have been busy working various cases for many packs related to you. Your pack in particular, as you should recall, has been under attack by rogues for quite some time.”

“Rogues follow all the packs and try to infiltrate them,” Baher replied on the defensive.

“That may be true, but your packs have been infiltrated more often than not. Also remember that you are one of the smaller packs.”

“We may be smaller than most, but we still rule what is ours. We will not be overtaken,” Van stated in a fierce voice.

“That is good to know, but it appears you may need some help.”

“Not from a bloodletter,” Randolph stated.

Vanderlan raised his eyebrow at Randolph.

“Fate has already stepped in, my friend. It appears that we will be getting to know one another very well.”

Miele stood up and began to pace.

“I don’t get it. Why? What seems to be the reasoning behind this?” Miele asked.

“There is a situation we need to discuss. I believe that our woman has been trying to capture a killer believed to be of the wolf.”

Van did not like the way Vanderlan was calling he and his brothers’ Daniella “our woman” as if he was included in this mating. But then Vanderlan’s words sunk in.

“You know of this killer? The one that seeks her out?” Van asked.

Vanderlan leaned forward in his chair.

“He seeks her out? He’s seen her?”

“She escaped the first time on her own, and the second time just barely, which is how she landed here under our care and protection,” Van stated.

“He cannot have her. Son of a bitch!” Vanderlan yelled and rose from his chair.

“Do you know who it is? Have you gotten any leads?” Vanderlan asked, appearing quite upset.

“None yet. Zespian called us in on the case, hoping that we would intervene and capture this wolf before he could do more damage,” Bently stated.

“Zespian is your uncle, correct?”

Van nodded.

Vanderlan release a short sigh then shook his head.

“Your uncle and I go way back. Does he know that Daniella is your mate?”

“Yes. We informed him last night so that we could get another team to continue the investigation and figure out where the rogue wolf is hiding,” Miele added.

“I will be sure to speak with him. In the meantime, we need to work out a schedule of sorts to watch over our mate. She will not be allowed anymore involvement in this investigation,” Vanderlan stated firmly.

“Bullshit I won’t,” Dani stated as she crossed her arms in front of her chest and stared at Vanderlan.

Dani had heard quite enough information from Vanderlan. As sexually aroused as she felt, she knew she needed to calm down and straighten this situation out. These men were not like human men.

“Daniella, how are you feeling?” Miele asked as he assisted her by taking her arm and leading her into the living room and closer to the other men.

“I don’t appreciate being left out of conversations that have to do with my life. Now, I don’t really give a rat’s ass who you think you are, any of you.” Dani eyed Vanderlan and then Van, Miele, Bently, Baher, and Randolph.

“I will not be ordered around or told that my destiny has been decided for me. Now get me my fucking clothes. I am so out of this loony bin.”

She was about to walk away from them when Vanderlan uncrossed his arms and held her gaze with his own intense one. His eyes began to turn red, and at first she was fearful, but then came such a calming sensation she nearly lost her equilibrium.

“Come to me, Daniella,” Vanderlan whispered. She wasn’t certain if he’d said the words aloud or if she heard them in her head. She swallowed hard as the sensations enveloped her body. The voice could have been her pussy’s voice, since that was the main body part that seemed to be at full attention right now. These men turned her into a horny, wanton woman.

She fought the sensation and shook her head. His eyes grew brighter red.
