With
a blinding smile she moved in close to him and wrapped her arms around his
neck. She raised her hand to caress his prickly cheek in wonder. The love she
felt for her mate shined in her eyes. “There you are.” Rising up on her toes
she pressed her lips against his in a passionate kiss. She was getting used to
seeing him in his beast form but she definitely preferred him in this one.

Her
lips were warm and sweet against his and Teagan’s body was quick to respond to
her. With a growl, he moved her backwards, carefully pinning her against a
large tree. Unable to resist her heat he rubbed his growing erection against
her soft body. His hands ran down her flanks to cup her curvy bottom as she
groaned and wrapped her legs around his waist.

Teagan
examined her bruised face, and the bite on her neck and let out a low growl,
wishing he could kill Salvatore all over again. “Gods Ava. I could sense your
fear and knew something was wrong. I checked in with Claymore and when they
told me you had left the compound I went nuts. Thank the gods that the others
trusted my instincts. Ethan gave the order to abandon the warehouse we were
about to go into so we could search for you and the dam thing blew up.”

“I
heard Salvatore talking about the trap. I’m so glad you are all okay. I’m so
sorry Teagan. I didn’t know what else to do. He had Patrick. I hoped you would
be able to track me through our bond but I wasn’t sure if it was even
possible.” Ava looked at his beautiful face with tears in her eyes. She hadn’t
been sure if she would ever hold him like this again.

“Don’t
ever leave me again Ava.” Teagan’s expression was fierce as he looked into her
crystal blue eyes. “If anything ever happened to you, I think I would go mad.
Gods, how I love you.”

Ava’s
laugh was part sob and part laughter as she looked into the face of the man she
loved more than life itself. He loved her. How was it possible that someone
could love her the way that Teagan did. Never in her life did she think that
she would be able to experience love like this.

“I
love you too. I promise I will never leave you. Nothing will ever separate us
again.” Her vow given she returned her attention to Teagan’s full lower lip.
Kissing him deeply she drug her tiny teeth softly across his bottom lip,
drawing a growl from him.

Pulling
away from the kiss, Ava looked at him in concern. “Teagan wait, what about your
injuries.” Ava gasped as Teagan answered her by grinding his shaft against her
core. The friction was delicious and she arched her hips, keeping him in
contact with the sensitive bundle of nerves.

Keeping
her against the tree for leverage he released her bottom and pulled the torn
front of her shirt below the curve of her breast. Pulling the lacy cups of her
bra down, he exposed her full breasts to the cool night air.

Both
rosy tips instantly pebbled and with a groan he lowered his head to sample one.
Continuing to rub his shaft against her hot core, he added to the sensation’s
overwhelming Ava as he pulled one of the stiff peaks between his lips. The cool
night air on her skin combined with the heat of his mouth was amazing.

“Teagan!”
Ava gasped his name as pleasure ran through her system. She ran her fingers
through the strands of his long hair and grasped his head to her exposed
breasts. Teagan licked and nipped his way to her other breast and continued his
assault on the other peak. She ran her hands over the skin of his muscular back
and cursed the clothing that kept her from touching the rest of him.

“Gods
Ava, forgive me, but I need to be inside of you.” He knew it was wrong to take
her, pressed against the bark of the tree but he couldn’t seem to stop. Another
male had dared to try to take her from him and the need to mark his mate rode
him hard.

Reaching
around him he slid her shoes off of her feet and then let her legs slide to the
ground. Kneeling before her he quickly unfastened her jeans and slid them,
along with her panties over her hips and pulled them free of her shapely legs.

Sliding
his hands around her hips he growled low and rubbed his face against the smooth
skin of her stomach, breathing deeply of her scent. Ava couldn’t help but
squirm as his warm tongue circled her belly button, and his rough beard tickled
her skin.

Pulling
one shapely leg over his shoulder, Teagan placed teasing kisses to the inside
of her thigh making Ava’s toes curl in anticipation of what was to come.

Still
not giving her what she hungered for, Teagan slid his fingertips through her
slick folds, and slowly eased his fingers into her hot core. He groaned to find
his mate slick with her need for him.

“Teagan!”
Ava moaned and couldn’t help but arch her hips against his exploring fingers,
moving agonizingly slow inside of her. With a growl Teagan nipped the inside of
her tender thigh as punishment for her impatience and gripped her hip with his
free hand, stilling her movements.

Ava
waited in breathless anticipation and sighed in pleasure as finally his hot
tongue slid across her swollen nub. Her patience was rewarded as Teagan feasted
on her deeply. His tongue circled and teased while his fingers slid inside of
her. Ava gasped as he gently sucked her into his mouth and then barely let her
feel his teeth grazing her flesh. Whispering his name, she leaned her head back
against the tree, groaning at the odd mixture of rough bark at her back and
warm male at her front.

Sensing
his mate was close to the edge Teagan released her and quickly rose to his
feet. Not wanting to take the time to remove his boots, he made quick work of
his own clothing as he unfastened his jeans and pushed them down to his knees.

Teagan
pulled Ava’s legs back up around his waist. Finding her slick and eager for
him, he groaned as he buried himself deeply into her welcoming warmth. Ava held
on to his neck and arched her back in bliss as Teagan’s heat filled her.

Pulling
back he slid deeply into her, grinding his hips against the one spot sure to
drive her over the edge. Ava gasped as he repeated the motion, driving into
her, and pinning her small body between his own and the unyielding tree. Ava
tensed, expecting him to pound into her quickly only to groan in frustration as
he slowly eased himself from her silken depts. Teagan continued to tease her
without mercy as his slow pace kept her just on the edge of bliss.

Knowing
he wouldn’t last much longer, Teagan began moving faster, driving into her
slick heat until he felt her clenching his shaft tightly. Ava gasped his name
in pleasure as she came apart in his arms. Tingles of pleasure crashed over her
as she peaked. The walls of Ava’s core clenching him tightly pushed him over
the edge and he roared as his seed jetted deeply into her warmth. Thrusting hard
into her soft body he drew out every bit of pleasure as they both slowly
returned to earth.

Gasping
for breath he held her clenched tightly against his chest. Ava could hear both
of their hearts beating rapidly in time with each other. Resting her face against
the curve of his neck she enjoyed the feeling of their two bodies joined
together as they both caught their breath.

Leaning
slightly back from her Teagan admired the site of his mate in the moonlight.
Her lips were still swollen from his kiss and her full breasts were still
flushed from his tender assault. The light from the moon danced across her
skin, and glanced off of her ebony locks. The moonlight embraced his mate, she
was beautiful and she was all his. Ava laughed at the admiring look he gave her.

Pulling
her away from the tree Teagan pulled her close and ran his hands over her back,
quickly looking for any damage his love making may have caused. “Did I hurt
you?” Teagan looked at Ava in concern.

“I’m
fine.” Ava knew she probably had a dopey satisfied smile on her face right now.

Ava
groaned at the loss of his warmth as he withdrew from her body and let her legs
slide back down to the ground. Ava’s knees felt like jello for a moment but she
quickly regained her balance. She watched in disappointment as he pulled his
jeans back up and refastened his leather utility belt.

Still
worried about her he knelt down in front of her and turned her around so he
could check her bare back side for any scratches from the tree bark.

 Ava
couldn’t help but giggle. “Teagan! I’m fine, really!” She shrugged off his
inspection of her back side and turned to face him. Cradling his face in her
hands, she tilted his face up to meet her eyes. “I. Am. Fine. Vampire,
remember.”

Realizing
she really was fine Teagan gave his little mate a wolfish grin right before
placing a quick smack on her back side. “Hey!” Ava squeaked in alarm and then
groaned as his warm palm rubbed away the sting. 

“Remind
me to get you back into this position later once I have you back at Claymore.”

“No
way!” Ava protested but couldn’t help the tingle of heat his words caused her.

Teagan
helped her back into her clothing and did his best to repair her gaping blouse.

“We
need to get moving. We still have a lot of ground to cover before we can meet
back up with the others.”

Ava
looped her arms around his neck and gave him a tender kiss. “Lead on.”

Teagan
tensed in her embrace for a moment and then relaxed again. “What is it?”

“Just
Daniel. He must have followed our scent.”

Ava
laughed and gave him a cheeky grin. “Well I for one am glad he didn’t find us
sooner.”

The
laughter in Ava’s eyes was suddenly replaced with pain and confusion and she
was slammed back against the tree and pinned beneath Teagan’s body. Horrible
blinding pain spread across her chest but she didn’t know why.

Teagan
roared as his mate screamed in pain again as the second arrow pierced their
bodies. The rogues must have found them even though he couldn’t pick up any
trace of their scents in the area. Even now the only scent in the woods was
Ava’s and Daniels. What new trick was this? Dam it! How could he have been so
careless! He and Ava were both pinned to the tree by two thick arrows that now
protruded from his back.

Reaching
over his shoulder her tried to reach one of the arrows, causing Ava to moan in
pain as the slight movement caused the arrows to shift in her small body.

“Teagan!”
Teagan was relieved as Daniel raced to their sides.

“Hurry
Daniel! Break off the back of the arrows so I can get Ava free!”

“Now
why would I do that?” Teagan froze as Daniel sneered at him. What the hell was
going on? Tingles of warning raced down his spine.

“Daniel,
break off the god dam arrow.” Teagan snarled at him and let the inherent power
of his alpha reinforce his command.

Daniel
could feel Teagan flexing his alpha muscle but still managed to shake off the
command.

“You
see cousin, I won’t be taking orders from you anymore. Nor will I be taking
them from your father.” Raising his arm, Daniel flashed the bow he had been
holding. It was one of the enhanced bows made specially to accommodate the
superhuman strength of an Lykan.

“What
the hell are you doing?” Teagan snarled at him.

Suddenly
Daniel slammed his hand into Teagan’s neck. It had been all too easy since he
couldn’t defend himself without harming his precious mate.

Ava
could do nothing but stare in horror as Daniel’s fist open to reveal a syringe
filled with some sort of blue liquid that he quickly injected into Teagan’s
neck.

“Daniel
no!” She cried helplessly, fearful of what it all meant.

Pulling
a gun from his back he pressed it against her temple. Teagan snarled at the
sight of his mate being threatened. His beast roared to be set free but he
didn’t dare for fear his shift would further harm his mate.

Daniel
cackled with glee. “Now, cousin. You will remove your medallion.”

“You’re
fucking crazy! Have you lost your mind?” Teagan roared at him. A sudden an
uncontrollable rage was beginning to roar through his system.

“No!
You’re the one who’s going crazy. At least that is what I will tell everyone.
You see dear cousin, you are going feral. The injection I gave you is the same
one that Salvatore has been using to create his rogues.”

Teagan’s
face paled as Daniel gleefully delivered the news. “I found it on the first
raid of Salvatore’s hotel. While you were all off saving the world, I was
planning. At first I tried slipping it into the Jack Daniels I gave you but
when that didn’t work it became apparent that it would have to be injected. I
knew if I was patient an opportunity would present itself and here we are.”

“God
Daniel, why would you do this!?” Teagan took deep breaths, trying to control
the rage that he felt building inside of him. Fear shot through his system,
would the serum work on an Lykan?

“Your
family’s time as pack leader has come to an end. You are going to go feral and
rip your poor little mate to shreds. I will of course volunteer to hunt you
down and exterminate your sorry feral ass. Isn’t that what you and your father
ordered to have done to my brother?

“The
embarrassment of the pack leader’s son going feral will force your father to
step down as pack leader. The pack will be outraged, I’ll make sure of it.”
