“Oh gods, what are you doing to me?” She didn't really care if he answered. She might not like the explanation he had to give. Besides, it didn't matter. Nothing mattered but this, the two of them. A need burned inside her so hot she just knew she'd die from the pleasure of it, so intense it hurt.

Draven reached up and grasped the ropes of her hair, tugging back until it stung her scalp, a large hand cupping her still heated ass cheek. Would he smack her again? Would her cunt jump and clench as it had that first time? Surprised by her open yearning, Mia knew that was exactly what she wanted. And that was exactly what she got.

“Take me, Mia.” Two sharp smacks spurred her on even faster. “That’s right, take your cock; it’s all for you, only you.”

Her heart rocketed to her throat. He meant it; she could
feel
the truth of the words in her gut.

“Yes!” Her insides quaked, a momentous building of something she was afraid to face. Unlike when he had his face between her thighs, sending her flying over and over again, this orgasm threatened to steal her very sanity. Two more smacks on the opposite ass cheek sent her spiraling, whirling out of control. “Oh gods! Draven!”

The room was spinning. Mia couldn’t hold on. She felt Draven surge up into her, felt him deep in her womb. His orgasm only sent her higher, caressing where no man had ever managed to reach, completing her in a ways she never dreamed possible. This wasn't a simple mating; it was definitely more than just sex. He had been right when he’d whispered in her ear she was about to die, because just at that moment, her heart stopped and her consciousness fled as she gave everything over to the cyborg that had all too recently been her enemy.

Mia had no idea how long she had been unconscious, but she knew it had been longer than a few minutes—much, much longer. The events that had all too recently taken place came crashing back to her before she opened her eyes. She recalled being captured, though how she still couldn't quite puzzle it out. She remembered being injected with those damnable nanomytes right before Draven had given her the most intense pleasure she’d ever experienced in her life. Thinking about it reawakened a gnawing need between her legs, though she fought like hell against it.

He was watching her. She refused to open her eyes to confirm it, yet she knew it to be true. His presence was a sure as if she were watching him, watching her. Her skin heated wherever his gaze lingered, and unfortunately, his gaze was all over her.

So this was being a bloodthrall. Funny, she didn't feel enslaved. The need was there, yes—the urge to open her thighs and allow him full access was almost overwhelming—but she felt perfectly able to call him a son of a bitch and mean it with all her heart.

“You might as well open your eyes now, Mia mine. I know you’re awake.”

“What the hell happened?” she demanded, so not ready to give in to his sensual mastery again so soon. She needed to keep her wits about her. “I know I’ve been unconscious for a while. Care to tell me why? Was it those infectious computer pests that made me pass out?”

Stars, he was gorgeously, gloriously nude, his light golden body all ripped to perfection. How tempted she was to climb on top of him again. Her nipples tingled, hardening at the possibility.

“You didn't pass out, you died. I told you that you would.”

Mia blinked at the huge cyborg as if he had just short-circuited. Died? She was perfectly fine. In fact, she’d never felt better. Her limbs felt ready to spring, her heart rate steady, her breathing clear and easy. The tiny aches and pains that went along with her chosen line of work were completely gone. That was interesting.

“Ha ha, very funny. I feel great.” But the intense seriousness in his gaze gave her pause. “You are kidding, right?”

“No. The nanomytes were activated by your orgasm, coded by my seed. As soon as I came inside you, they began their work changing your body, rebuilding anything that was broken or injured and strengthening you. You had to die, your heart and breathing stopped in order for them to do their work. Now you are much like I am, only coded for me as mine alone.”

The words were all simple enough to understand; however, all together like that, they made no sense to her. It was a jumble of nonsense that couldn’t possibly be true. Dead? Stopped breathing? Like him? Coded? What the fuck?

“I swear by all the stars in the heavens I am about to shoot you full of laser holes if you don’t take that back.”

The oaf had the audacity to actually smile at her. A full-blown, smug grin with his massive chest all puffed out and everything.

“It is true. My nanomytes have changed you, making you my perfect thrall.”

“I am no one’s slave!” Mia was furious. Uncaring about her nudity, she jumped to her feet, ready to go toe-to-toe with a man—cyborg, whatever—she had no hope of defeating hand-to-hand.

“You think thralls are slaves?” Draven asked incredulously. “Bloodthralls are no one’s slaves. What made you think they were?”
That brought her up short. Her only honest answer was rumors, and she should’ve known better than that. The eagerness with which she had swallowed the juicy tidbit had been based on wanting to believe it, wanting justification for what she had made a living doing—hunting down cyborgs and turning them over to CyborCorp, the major corporation that not only built – or gave birth- to the damn things, but essentially ran the government in this sector.

“Uh, everyone knows it.” It was such a weak answer, and she knew it.

“Woman, the nanomytes simply ensure you share my long life, make you able to bear my children. They also ensure you are able to handle the size of a cyborg. We are not built like children as too many of your human men are.”

Ain’t that the truth
? Mia asked herself, shifting a little where she stood. The suggestion of Draven declaring she would bear his children, albeit implied, had set her womb aflame with need all over again.

“And I suppose it makes me all wet and needy for you, doesn’t it?” she demanded, eagerly eyeing his growing erection.

“It makes it easier for you to accept me,” Draven growled, stalking closer. “The need I smell is your own need calling to me.”

“It is?” Mia squeaked, taking a step back but knowing there was nowhere to run. Not that she really wanted to run in the first place.

“No, that is your body calling for me. Your mate.”

Mia did run; just not very fast or very far. Death by sex hadn’t been an altogether bad experience, but she needed a little more practice to be sure.
