The following herbs are suggested for this condition, but please see an herbalist who can make up the right formula for you. I have used the herb poke root (phytolacca) to help in the healing of ulcerations caused by this condition. The following are also helpful: marshmallow root (soothing to gut), goldenseal (helps to stop bleeding in times of flare-up), comfrey (muscle calming), and echinacea (helps to fight infection and to create a good bacteria count).

You will need to supplement to make up for the lack of nutrient assimilation that is a problem with this condition. Take multivitamins daily. Also, a yeast-free liquid iron is helpful in addition to a multiple vitamin to make up for blood loss.

Zinc levels tend to be very low, so supplement with zinc citrate.

A deficiency of magnesium is also very common. Magnesium citrate is needed. You really need a complete mineral supplement, as many other minerals are usually low.

Vitamin B complex is important too. And make sure you get enough folic acid, especially if you have been on medications.

Fish oils, which are high in omega-3s, can help to diminish the symptoms.

Take L-glutamine powder before meals.

The bioflavanoid quercetin may help with smoother muscle contractions and to limit inflammation. You need to take it before meals.

Liquid chlorophyll before meals can help a lot in healing the intestines.

Sialic acid concentrate or n-neuraminic acid can help to heal the intestinal mucosa.

EXTRA TIPS

You absolutely must get the help of a nutritionist. Do not struggle on your own.
