He walked toward me without saying a word, reaching for my shirt and pulling it over my head. “And I told you a while ago…” he unbuttoned my jeans, “…we are a family now. There’s no one to watch her, we don’t go.”

“Leo…”

He covered my mouth with his and my hands instantly went to his chest as I leaned into him. He backed me up against the wall, threading his fingers through my hair and angling my face to where he wanted it so he could deepen the kiss. By the time he pulled back, I was breathing heavily, and my body was wound tight.

“I fucking love you,” he whispered, looking down at me with hooded eyes.

My heart warmed, and all I wanted to do was climb into his arms and stay there forever. “I love you, too.”

“Then hurry up and get those jeans off, ‘cause I need my woman tonight.”

I laughed softly. “What happened to… I don’t fuck with my girl in the same room?” I teased, remembering the first conversation we’d had.

He smirked. “I’ll meet you in the shower.” He kissed the corner of my mouth before stalking into the bathroom.

I smiled and shook my head as I heard the spray of the shower start. Walking over to Macy, I tucked the blankets around her and kissed her on the forehead. “Goodnight, baby girl. I love you,” I whispered, before turning to walk away.

“I wuv you,” a sleepy voice whispered behind me, stopping me in my tracks.

My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn’t help but grin like an idiot as I stood in the dark room. A wave of emotion rode over me that I couldn’t explain, hitting me like a ton of bricks.

Like an avalanche.

The bathroom door eased open, and Leo stood naked in the doorway. “You coming?”

“Yeah,” I answered, walking forward and wrapping my arms around his waist and laying my head on his chest.

His lips brushed my hair. “Everything okay?”

“Perfect.”
