FTERWORD: A STORY OF SOMETHING TOO HIDEOUS FOR THE EYES~

(translated by Withered

My name is Jin.
Did you enjoy “Kagerou Days II -a headphone actor-“?
While I was writing this novel, just about every day was extremely hot, well over 30°C. It was in an environment similar to the world of writing. So every day they let me do my writing while eating pizza, with the air conditioner turned down to 23°C.
I feel like I was leeching off of the other people at the office, so I apologize.

Oh, that’s right, in the afterword of my previous work, “Kagerou Days -in a daze-,” I said “If this is unsuccessful, next time I’ll have to write a romantic school comedy!” but thankfully, I received a much higher response than expected, so thank you (smiles).
So, that’s not the reason of the romantic school comedy stuff this time around.
The reason is simply because I had a hunger for love, so please rest assured!
This time, I was working on writing a novel, a single, a live performance, and other things at the same time, so by the end I was pretty much on the verge of going crazy.

No no, it wasn’t too much work at all. Really.
Just thinking about writing the third volume is enough to make me throw up everything I ate into the toilet, but since I’m looking forward to writing it, there’s no helping it!

Slowly, my HP gauge has been reduced, recently changing from yellow to red.
I’m writing this afterword immediately after finishing the second volume while half asleep, so I keep thinking, “What if I mess up and write some dirty jokes on accident here and there……” and worried my tits off thinking about it.*

Well, I think my editor (ikebo*) is planning on completely cleaning it up by the time it gets to the readers, so it’s fine. Definitely. (

s note: To respect the wishes of the writer, everything has been published as it was originally written)

Speaking of dirty jokes, in the previous volume’s afterword I kept cracking up over “tchin-tchin* (a kind of rose).” Apparently my mother (age 52) went around my hometown saying, “I’m going to do my best to promote it a lot by saying things like ‘My son wrote a novel!’” so because of those jokes, whenever I got a phone call from her, I got a huge headache.

However, when my little sister (age 18) said “My big brother’s novel would be a good read for my friends’ children!” I actually felt strangely excited.
Friends of my little sister, are you reading this? I’m the big brother (grins)

Speaking of my little sister, she said that I’m very similar to Shintarou.
I disagreed with her because in all honesty, I think Shintarou is a considerably unpleasant character. I wasn’t happy at all with her comparison, but then I started to change my mind.

“Isn’t this a good opportunity?” I thought.

In the novel, Shintarou got along really well with the ladies, maybe in the real world, I can get flirty with girls too. Yeah, clearly there’s no way I can go wrong there!
Actually in the first volume, Shintarou’s computer broke, and recently my computer also broke from a mysterious error all of a sudden. I think because of this, we have a very deep connection.
In this novel, Shintarou had some pretty good things happen for him. I bet that pretty soon I’ll get a ticket to go to the amusement park too. I’m really excited!

On that note, I’ve been thinking, “It’s about time that a cute girl who would never disappear pops up on my screen and starts talking to me.” So every night, I’ve been pulling down my pants and waiting patiently…… For some reason, she still hasn’t appeared. I really wonder why.

But the other day, no matter how many times I kept closing them, these ads for adult sites kept popping up.
Although not what I had in mind, I’ve been keeping myself sane by talking to those ads. Thank you, God.

Ah, with this, I believe it’s time to say goodbye.
I really had all kinds of support this time; thank you very much.
And from here on out! Thank you for your support!
I’ll see you in the afterword of the third volume as well! Bye now!
