“Hold on there.” He reached out, placing a hand on her knee to stop her. Leaning on his elbow, he pointed at her and said, “I’d like to renegotiate the time frame, that’s all.”
Her eyes were all over his face, as if trying to read his expression and his thoughts. She chewed on her bottom lip before saying, “Well, I can see how twelve months would be a long time, especially since a lot of your stay here up until now has been sort of…umm…weird and frustrating at times.” She attempted a smile but failed. “If you’d like to make it nine months or even six months--”
Zach placed two fingers over her lips to stop her. “I was thinking of renegotiating a longer lease.” When she tilted her head in query he said, “Maybe, oh, fifty years.”
Her eyes got big and she grinned. “I think we can work something out.”
Zach pulled her onto him as he laid back down. “Mmm…you get me hot, you know that?”
Sam laughed softly as she moved her hips against his pelvis then said in her best Mae West impression, “Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?”
Tunneling his fingers through her hair, Zach kissed her, making a mental note to go out first thing tomorrow and buy her that French maid costume.
