He eased her through her climax, removed his fingers, and swirled away her release with his tongue. The unique, sweet taste would drug non-supernatural men. Glad of his ties to Heaven, Nix remained safe.

Chapter Forty-seven

Nix shifted up her body, the chafing of his jeans on her inner thighs evidence he hadn’t removed his clothing. “Orgasms look good on you, Mads.” A slow, easy grin exposed his dimples. “Did I forget to mention I am a god at sex?”

Madison laughed and her voice came out hoarse. “It’s impolite to gloat, Nix.” She kissed a dimple. They won her over every time. “I love these.” They’d been adorable when she first met him. Now, they were all kinds of sexy.

What he’d just done—
oral sex…Mmmm…so good
, her demon purred—she’d never tolerated it from Micah. She’d enjoyed every second of the decadent act with Nix.

His eyes narrowed and his frown grew lethal. The pads of his fingers skimmed the flesh around the wound on her shoulder where Micah had bit her in the shower. “Why didn’t you have Amos heal this one like he did on your forearm?”

“It is too personal. I was afraid he would read my memories.”

His attention zip-lined to hers. “He can do that?”

“Yeah. We chat telepathically, also.” Nix’s expression didn’t change. What did he think of that? “Zen reads minds as well. I can keep Amos out unless it’s close contact like that. Zen visits as he pleases.”

“Zen mentioned in the kitchen he could read minds, but he didn’t say anything about chatting telepathically.”

She shrugged. “He can be secretive.” She traced one of his scrunched-up brows with her fingertips. “Telepathy is as far as it goes with me. Does that bother you, Nix?”

“If you’re asking does that change the way I feel about you, the answer is no. I love you regardless of your talents—”

“Curse—”

“Or gifts.” He glared at her. “Don’t put words in my mouth, Mads. You’re not cursed, just different. But I am insulted you would think my love is so fickle.”

Madison didn’t wish to hurt him, but trusting him with her heart was so damn difficult. It’d been broken once. She didn’t wish to repeat that anguish ever again.

Did she love Nix as the lover she was about to receive into her body? She might, but how could she be certain?

I love him
! Lynx piped up.
I especially love that mouth and tongue of his
.

“I’m sorry, Nix.” And she meant it. “I’m used to people freaking out when they discover the broad boundaries of our abilities.”

“I’ll assume by ‘people’ you mean Sherlocks.” He waited for her nod before continuing, “I love you, so I forgive you. Allow me to heal the wound, Mads?”

Madison nodded and braced herself for the impact of his divine mojo. Nix kissed her as his fingers skimmed over the wound. Burnt heat, love and goodness, interspersed with the scent of an electrical storm, touched her senses, sizzled along her flesh and…it disappeared. Disappointed by the briefness of the taste, she reached up and touched her skin. The bite wounds were gone, her shoulder healed.

Locking her arms around his neck, she curled a leg around his hip. She undulated beneath him and pulled him toward her. “Your magic tastes like I imagine elixir of the gods would.” She claimed his mouth with hers and groaned into him at the contact. “Nix,” she objected when he shifted his mouth to her neck.

“Hmmm….” he rumbled against her throat, his wicked caress scattering gooseflesh wherever it touched.

“Remove your jeans for me.”

“In a minute.” He grazed his teeth along her collarbone and licked the puckered flesh of their transferred covenant.

Impatient with his timing, she used her weight and rolled him to his back. Straddling his thighs, she sat up and fumbled with the remaining buttons on his jeans. “I want you naked. Now. In a minute is much too late.”

He grinned as she finished unbuttoning his pants, running her lips over the fine trail of hair that disappeared below.

A charming path to guide her where she ventured, convenient for her.

She dragged her tongue along the flesh surrounding his belly button and his abdomen muscles rippled in the wake of her lick. Such power he granted her over him and she licked him again.

Folding the edges of his jeans back, she exposed the solid length of his erection. She ran a finger along the stiff extent. Nix snatched her hand away. She looked up at his tight expression. Mindful of her bandaged left wrist, his fingers were gentle, and his sensitivity damn near stung her eyes with tears.

“Not yet. That will lead to me inside you much too quickly, Mads, and I need to do something else first.”

“Too bad.” She pouted, but wiggled to straddle his dick. When her wet flesh connected with his partially exposed hardness, he groaned as she teased by swaying against him. “What could be more important than getting inside me, Nix?”

“This.” Nix ripped the tape off the gauze wrapped around her wrist and quickly tore off the bindings, exposing the irritated flesh where the sigil branded her. The red line that ran from it had lengthened and now tunneled halfway up her arm toward her shoulder. “I should’ve done this in the kitchen without asking. God knows I wanted to.”

“Don’t you dare heal me!”

Nix flipped her to her back, settling comfortably between her legs, the rough line of his jeans scrubbing her pussy. “That’ll be a side-effect, but not my intent.”

“Nix….”

He executed thrusting motions against her. At her groan, he said, “I’ll win the teasing game hands-down, every single time, baby.”

“Jerk,” she griped half-heartedly.

“This jerk is about to douse you with me, inside and out.”

She pondered that statement, but his power shot into her so fast, her mouth dropped open, but no sound exited her lungs. Pleasure hit her harder than the initial jolt of his mojo just minutes ago. White lightning, coupled with the scent of spring storms, deluged her body, ripped through her like a hailstorm and one-hundred-mile-an-hour winds. Their gazes held, locked as tight as his hand clamped on her wrist. His eyes flashed with something she couldn’t define.

Madison’s greatest fear was losing control and draining him of his power. In effect, killing him. Usha morphed to the surface amidst a bomb of golden light Madison recognized as the visible color of Nix’s messian.

“Pow—er…back.” Getting the words out was difficult, because of the intensity of his feeding and because her demon resisted their utterance.

The pulsation slowed to a bearable level.

“I won’t stop.” The crinkles at the corners of his eyes suggested he worried over her reaction to what he’d somewhat forced upon her. “Zenny said you needed this. Said I was your only…hope.” The final word was barely spoken, as if he hadn’t intended to utter it.

“I won’t ask you to stop.”

God, no I won’t
!

Want more
! Usha screamed.

“But I want it more personal than before, Nix. I want you inside me as you give it to me.” Something different than in the Sherlock bar when he healed her, and then in Hell. She needed to differentiate the two scenarios. “Inside me,” she reiterated.

Nix’s breathing grew choppy.

“Is something wrong?” she asked.

“No.”

“My eyes have changed to reflect my demon?”

“Yes, Mads, but that doesn’t mean anything is wrong.”

“Does it tire you or weaken you to feed me this way?”

“No. I feel a connection with you I cannot explain, and I fail to fully comprehend it.” He shut the power down completely and she bit her tongue to keep from demanding he turn it back on. “I taste your power and can track it after I’ve experienced it. To my knowledge, no demon holds that talent.” Ah…so that was how they found her after the Sherlock bar incident. “You taste different than before, a lot sweeter. That’s to be expected since you went all-inclusive with your demon DNA. There’s a new edge, a touch of darkness and cruelty that wasn’t a part of you in the bar, or Hell.”

“The new me.” She rolled him to his back and sat straight, watching him through her lashes. “I tried telling you I wasn’t the same woman as before.”

“No one ever remains the same. But you’d have never accepted your demon if not for me.”

“You weren’t to blame, Nix.” Untrue, but any blame associated with him was unrelated to any action he’d taken in Hell. Her succubus had begun to awaken when he channeled his healing heat inside her in the Sherlock bar. He’d just upped the timeframe. All roads eventually led to that one moment…acceptance or death. “I made a choice, one that I’d have made either way. I struggled with my demon before the tavern and Hell.” If she’d faced the same decisions outside of Hell, she might’ve chosen death. With Nix’s life at stake, she’d taken the alternative option. “You realize I killed the entity in Pandora’s Box, right?”

“Yes.”

“I took her power, Nix, and I’m fairly certain I can wield it now. So, it makes sense the taste of my demon would have a different flavor.” She leaned forward, nipped his chin, and rubbed her breasts against his chest. His nostrils flared. “You have no idea what that bitch put me through for five years. I enjoyed killing her.”

She sat up again and shifted back against his thighs. She trailed a finger along the hard length trapped within his pants. Nix released a ragged breath, and watched her movements. “She screamed and tried to hide in the Box from me. She pleaded with me not to kill her. Pandora was terrified of me—us—and I still sucked her power and murdered her with glee. Make no mistake, without her trapped to the Box, she would’ve overpowered me because she is—was—stronger than me.” His hand grabbed hers and their gazes clashed, held. “That’s the woman I’ve become, a woman without emotions, who can take another’s life with ease and no regrets. That’s the woman you want to fuck, Nix.”

“No,” he shook his head. “That’s the woman I love and I will make love to. Do you think there’s a Sherlock alive who hasn’t made the same choice? Who isn’t a little dark or cruel when he needs to be?”

Sherlocks weren’t the topic at hand, but she understood his analogy and shook her head. Knowing what she’d become, he still wanted to be with her. Made no sense, none whatsoever. “You’re too stubborn for your own good.”

“Me?” he chuckled. “You’re still trying to talk me out of loving you.” He clucked his tongue. “That’s very bad-mannered of you, baby, and I thought Southerners were known for their manners.”

“Being in love is so overrated.” She experienced it firsthand. “Friends with benefits is the new trend.”

“Friends with benefits is lonely and unsatisfying. There’s no emotional connection, just fleshly pleasure, without satisfying the emotional needs.”

Nix shifted a hand from her hip to glide up her side and rotate the pad of his thumb over a nipple. Madison had to work really hard to keep her mind focused on the topic. “You think you’ll get emotional satisfaction from fucking me?”

He pinched her nipple, a small reprimand, and her belly jerked with pleasure. “We’re going to make love, not fuck.”

Making love—fucking—what was the difference? She’d had the first one with a demon; she wanted the second with the Ark of Heaven. He could call it what he wished, but she’d take what she liked.

“I want these off.” She tugged on the waistband of his jeans. “Now.”

Together they worked the jeans down. He shoved and she pulled until they were around his knees. As her focus shifted to his penis, he kicked at the pants in an attempt to free his legs. He was hard and thick. Even though inexperienced in the variations of the male form, she didn’t think he would be deemed exceptionally long. Just average, but thick and gorgeous.

And he’s mine.

Mine, too
, Usha piped in as if she were being left out.

While he worked at getting his jeans kicked off, she bent and licked the slit of his crown. Nix hissed and stiffened beneath her. She didn’t wait for permission, but curled her tongue around the head of his cock and swirled.

“Fuck!” Nix said in a raw voice. Two swift kicks and she heard his jeans hit the floor. She went down on him, taking him all the way to the back of her throat. “Goddamn, Mads!” His fingers dove into her hair as she swallowed around his head.

He tastes good
, her demon purred.

Feels good, also
.

Swishing her tongue along the underside, she memorized the placement of each vein as she withdrew to the tip. Setting a rhythm, he tried to control the pace with his hands on the back of her head, but she refused to be rushed or slowed. The taste and texture of the man imprinted on her taste buds, and his grunts and groans were like aphrodisiacs she consumed.

By her hair, he jerked her head up. “No more!” He moved one hand out of her hair and traced her lips with his fingertip. “Who knew you’d look so good with my dick in your mouth? The reality was so much better than my fantasies.”

Madison grinned, kissed his belly and moved upward, licking his nipples before continuing onward. She tugged his hands off her and slammed them down on the mattress beside his head. The hard line of his cock pressed against her bottom. Achy with need, she wanted him inside her so badly.

She lowered her head as if she planned to kiss him, but shifted direction at the last second and nipped her sigil on the underside of his bicep. “I’m tattooed on you, but the only way for you to be imprinted on me is for you to take me. My succubus wants you inside me really bad, Nix.”

He shrugged off her hand and palmed her nape. “What do
you
want?”

She rubbed her lips across his and then met his intense gaze. “I ache for you worse than she does.”

Nix rolled her to her back so fast the change in their positions surprised her. He shifted his position slightly upward and the tip of his cock pressed against her entrance.

Phoenix Birmingham would be inside her soon, claiming her in the most primal act of nature known to man. Madison’s skin tingled in anticipation.

Nix kissed her. Nothing slow or gentle about this kiss, it was hard and demanding. He reached between them and slid a finger inside her.
