The journey to “The End” for
Her Kind of Man
was one filled with winding roads, rough terrain, and inclement weather. It was definitely a challenge. In the midst of it, as with every journey, I found clarity. I was able to see the beautiful scenery, have lots of laughs, and sit with good company. I'm so thankful for this experience. And I appreciate the love and support I've received while on Allina's and Kent's adventure.

First and foremost, all thanks and praise to God. It is because of His Grace and Mercy that this is possible.

To my husband, Jason, you are my
one
. I love you more than I could ever fully express. Thank you for having my back.

To my children, Asante, Kaia, and Masai; I hope you all know how much I love you. You're smart, driven, beautiful, and mine. Thanks for inspiring me daily.

To my father and my brother, thank you for your unwavering support. No questions asked. I can't imagine my life without you.

To my Nanay and Tatay, I love you both very much. Thank you for accepting me in your life all those years ago and loving me like your own.

To my sister LaDonna, thank you for being you. And thanks for loving me for me. I appreciate you and love you BIG!

To my sister Kim, thanks for listening to and loving me. Your unwavering support means the world to me. I can't thank you enough for always being #TeamElle. Love you.

To my brother Joe, thank you for never putting an “in-law” at the end of my title. You are my true brother. When I created Kent, I'd always think, “What would Joe do?” LOL, I love you, and I'm so proud to be your sister.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank a few special people. These people let me vent, helped me focus, and cheered me on the whole way. To my writerly boo, Christine Hughes, you rock! I'm glad that we're still on this journey together. Thank you, Sheree, for being my insight. You are a godsend. Another special thanks to Crystal for being on my team. You have been a true friend to me and I'm so thankful to have you in my life. To my sis, Sheryl Lister, God knew what he was doing when we hooked up on Facebook. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. I'm blessed to call you my friend. To Tanishia Pearson-Jones, thanks friend. Who knew, at forty-one years old, I'd make new friends. I sure didn't. But I feel so blessed to count you as one of them. To Keshia, who knew you were right around the corner from me for all these years? I'm so glad that we connected. I also want to thank Danielle, Kimberley, and Shannon for being there for me in everything. I'm so happy I wrote a book you wanted to read.

To all of my friends and family, I can't name you all. Really. There are so many wonderful people in my life, people who've encouraged me, sat with me, cried with me, laughed with me…love you all.

To my agent, Sara Camilli, thank you for your calming presence. I definitely had some moments with this book.

To my editor, Megha Parekh, at Grand Central Publishing, thank you for pushing me always. I've learned so much from you. Thanks for supporting me the way you have. I also want to give a shout-out to the Forever Romance team. I've truly enjoyed this experience.

I also want to thank King Brooks from Black Page Turners, Sharon Blount from BRAB (Building Relationships Around Books), LaShaunda Hoffman (SORMAG), Orsayor Simmons (Book Referees), Tiffany Tyler (Reading in Black and White), Delaney Diamond (RNIC), Wayne Jordan (RIC), Radiah Hubert (Urban Book Reviews), and the EyeCU Reading and Social Network for supporting me. I truly appreciate you all. Also, thank you to Black Stone Bookstore.

Thank you, Beverly Jenkins, for everything. You have no idea how much you continue to inspire me. You've been so welcoming and supportive, I can't thank you enough. Thanks to all the many author friends who have been such a support to me; authors who have supported me, given good advice, written a blurb; you've all inspired me to keep going. I'm forever grateful.

Last but not least, I want to thank all my readers. It makes me feel good to know that you love my characters the way I do. I hope you keep reading.

I hope you enjoy the wild ride that is
Her Kind of Man
! It is definitely an experience.

Thank you!

Love,

Elle

Elle Wright was born and raised in Southwest Michigan near Ann Arbor. She learned the importance of reading from her mother and it was also her mother who, later on in her life, gave Elle her first romance novel:
Indigo
by Beverly Jenkins. From that moment on, Elle became a fan of Ms. Jenkins for life and a lover of all things romance. An old journal she wrote back in college became her first book (which she still wants to publish one day).
