"You must be insane. I only came here to hear the awkward after moments, which may I add, weren't all that awkward. I think I’m in love with the both of you right now, you are so cute!"

Cayden rolled her eyes. "Oh, that's just what I wanted."

Brooke blushed.

Wade suddenly turned serious. "Cayden, if you do one stupid Cayden thing to lose this wonderful woman I'll kill you."

The tall woman sighed dramatically. "Why are you here? Isn't Queer Eye on television or something?"

"I'm taping it, I wouldn't miss this for the world. Not even Carson."

Brooke smiled, and winked at Wade, but didn't forget the original topic. "Teeth, now." she reminded the frowning brunette.

Cayden furrowed her brows even deeper, pouted, then dragged her feet to the bathroom.

Wade popped up from the floor and giggled happily. "So, what was it like? Tell me all about it, baby girl! Well, not
all
about it, but, you know. Ooo! I'm so happy for you!" He began to fix her messy hair and grinned wildly.

"Oh, Wade, it was wonderful! Cayden was charming, super, spectacular, amazing..."

Wade's eyes widened and he looked towards the bathroom. "
Our
Cayden?"

"Yes! She made me feel so at ease, so special... she was incredible, and oooo, what a lover." Brooke said, her eyes turning dreamy.

Wade's mouth hung open. "
That
Cayden?" He pointed to the bathroom.

Brooke laughed. "Yes, that Cayden. I never felt anything like that in my life! She was so patient, and sweet. Oh Wade, she's so terrific, and understanding. I knew it was there, I
knew
she was more than just the sum of her parts." Brooke smiled and sighed. "I just knew it."

Wade pulled Brooke into a bear hug. "Oh my god! Honey, I think you're in love! That's fabulous! I'm so happy!"

Cayden showed up as the two of them were jumping up and down, spinning around in circles. "I hate to break this to you, but that dance went out with Devo."

"Oh, come here and shut up you big ol' softie!" Wade jumped on Cayden and gave her a bear hug too. "This is so wonderful!"

"God, Wade." Cayden protested and squirmed away.

Wade just smiled knowingly at her. "Now, watch it you, I love this woman," he pointed at Brooke, "You better treat her right, or I'll try my best to hurt you."

Cayden couldn't help but grin. "Yeah, yeah. I happen to like her just a wee bit too. I intend to keep her around a while so don't you worry."

Brooke wrapped her arms around Cayden and sighed contentedly. "Good. I want to be around for a long time."

Cayden circled Brooke with her arms, and they stood there basking in their admissions.

Wade couldn't resist, and made it a group hug. To his amazement, Cayden didn't shoo him away. "Brooke, I really don't want to remind you honey, but your mother." He whispered, hating to break the mood.

Brooke sighed again, but it wasn't a happy one. "You're right, let's go, Cayden."

The tall woman, took her time unwrapping herself from Brooke and quickly ran her fingers through her hair. "Do I look ok?"

"Don't ask me, I'm biased." Brooke said with a smile.

"You both look like you just rolled out of bed." Wade offered.

"Gee thanks, you're a pal." Cayden replied sarcastically. "Well, it's now or never, let's go before I chicken out."

Brooke grabbed Cayden by the hand and pulled her to the door.

"I can't believe this is my Cayden, look at you girl! Just going willingly and everything!" Wade shook his head and folded his arms over his chest. "You should have met Brooke a long time ago."

"Why, thank you." Brooke said, tugging Cayden through the open door. "I
am
good for her, aren't I."

"I like her this way, you just keep her whipped." Wade teased.

"I'm right here you know." Cayden could be heard complaining as Wade closed the door.

Harriet paced the house, furious that Brooke left her cell phone at home. She was so worried at the time that she drove Bert right out of bed, and now he sat in the living room scowling at his wife.

"Harriet, it's not like it's the middle of the night, you never worried at all when she was out with Grant until all hours."

"Well, she wasn't living here then. I can't possibly sleep while she's out gallivanting around the city all night!"

"It's hardly midnight, she's not going to turn into a pumpkin. Geez Louise." Bert complained, folding and refolding his legs.

"It's the coach that turns into a pumpkin, not Cinderella, and what does that have to do with anything anyway? She was only going out to dinner, what could be taking so long?"

Bert raised his eyebrows and then frowned. He just had a very good idea about what they could be doing and it didn't please him. "Just don't ambush her at the door."

"I'll do whatever I want, she's my daughter and she is late and didn't call to let me know where she is. I'm very mad Bert."

"You'll live."

Mrs. Hewitt stared at him in shock. "Bert! You can honestly say you're not the least bit upset?"

"Of course I'm upset, but I'm sure the time just got away from them, that happens when... you know... "

Harriet gasped. "Why'd you have to say that for? I refuse to believe they're having sex." she covered her eyes with her hands.

"Hey, I don't like it any more than you do, but Harriet, what can we do?"

Mrs. Hewitt shook her head rapidly. "No. They're just walking around window shopping."

"At midnight?"

"Bert!"

"Almost an hour and a half?" Jodie shouted into the phone in disbelief.

"Yes! I swear! You should have heard it! Cayden rocked Miss Brooke's world, and let me tell you, the feeling was mutual."

"Wade, I just can't believe you listened at the door."

"I wasn't listening at the door, I was checking every so often and happened to get the good stuff. I was terrified I'd hear instructions or something, I don't know if I would have lived through it."

"So what was Brooke wearing? What was Cayden wearing? Who was louder? Tell me, tell me!"

As soon as they entered the building, Brooke slowed her step. Cayden had an idea what they were in for and knew leaving Brooke at the door and running away wasn't a good idea. She poked the blonde in the back and urged her forward. "The sooner we get there, the sooner it will be over."

"I know, but..."

"No buts, come on."

Brooke took a deep breath and put her key in the lock. The door was pulled open fast, and there was Harriet. "Uh, hi mom?"

Mrs. Hewitt's eyes were slits. "Where were you? Why didn't you call? Do you know what time it is?"

Brooke backed up and Cayden stepped forward, smiling a charming smile. "Hello, Mrs. Hewitt, we are so sorry, we were having such a great night that time just got away from us."

Harriet folded her arms over her chest and harrumphed, turning from the door and allowing them entrance. Bert gave Brooke a sympathetic look as she walked in, and she pouted at him.

"What could you have been thinking young lady, look at the time, its almost..." Harriet stopped talking and gave them then once over. Her eyes widened from their slits to really huge, then she covered her mouth in horror. "Bert! Look at what she's wearing!" She exclaimed, pointing at Cayden.

Bert looked at the tall woman, then Brooke, and shrugged. "What?"

"They had sex!" Mrs. Hewitt threw herself into a chair dramatically.

"Because Cayden changed her clothes?" Brooke asked, trying to hide her reddening face.

Cayden cleared her throat nervously and stepped a few feet away from everyone.

Harriet waved a finger at Brooke. "I know what you did. I can see it all over your face."

Brooke wanted to die, and Cayden was right behind her. The tall woman sidled up to Brooke and smiled weakly. "Boy, it sure is hot out there." She tried cutting in.

"Mother! I'm a grown woman for crap sakes, if I want to have sex, I don't need your permission, and I certainly don't have to explain myself!"

"You did?" Harriet asked covering her mouth again.

"Harriet, what in God's name has gotten into you?" Bert wondered.

"You allow it?" She asked her husband.

"No, I mean yes, I mean it's not up to us! Leave the poor girls alone."

Cayden and Brooke edged closer to Bert.

"What's the big deal ma? You knew I was sleeping with Grant, I was living with him! Is it because Cayden is a woman? All of a sudden it's terrible? You bought me the bra to seduce her in the first place! What happened?"

Harriet looked guilty as she lifted her eyes. "I don't know."

"Mother, I don't understand what's gotten into you, if you're mad because I didn't call, then fine, I'm sorry, but if you're mad because I had sex, well you'll have to get over it because I liked it and I'm doing it again."

Bert coughed nervously and Cayden turned magenta.

"How about those Knicks?" The tall woman suddenly asked, licking her dry lips, hoping she wouldn't have to actually bring up Uzbekistan.

"Oh yeah, they're something else." Bert replied, nodding rapidly. "Did you see the game last night?"

Cayden nodded, even though she didn't know a thing about it. "Boy, I can use a drink." she said, trying to get Bert into the kitchen, and give Harriet and Brooke some time.

"Me too, let's go look in the fridge." Mr. Hewitt agreed and they went off to the kitchen.

"Alright mom, tell me what's going on. Now." Brooke insisted.

"Nothing. I just, well, I don't want you to, I like having you here, and..."

"So you think because I slept with Cayden that I'm instantly moving in with her?"

"Isn't that what lesbians do?"

Brooke laughed. "No... at least this one doesn't."

"So, that's it? You're a full fledged lesbian now? Will you be wearing rude T-shirts, cutting your hair and dying it orange?"

Brooke raised a curious eyebrow.
Orange?
"Ma, just calm down. I'm not changing a thing, I'm still me. I'm not moving out any time soon and I certainly won't be doing anything to my hair." Brooke took her mother's hand and smiled. "I don't know where you get this stuff from."

"I read. I watch television, there's lesbians all over the place now." She said looking up at Brooke. "You know, I'm not mad that you had sex. I'm uncomfortable, just a little bit, as any mother would be, I guess I was afraid to lose you. Grant stole you away from us, we hardly saw you at all."

"Oh, mom, Cayden certainly isn't Grant, that's for sure."
