"Face it Cayd, he likes you and wants to be near you. And stop waving them around, something may fall out onto your sandwich."

Blue eyes narrowed. "The only thing that will fall out of these is cat hair."

"Then it's a good thing you didn't wear them. How would you explain that to Brooke?"

"ARHG!" Cayden snatched the sandwich and stomped off to her room. "I need to put pants on."

Just as Wade popped open a beer for Cayden, there was a knock on the door. he opened it and grinned. "Hiya sexy.' They kissed and Brooke walked inside. "She'll be right out, here, have a beer." He handed her Cayden's beer.

"Thanks! It sure is humid out." she drank gratefully and sat down. "Is she in the shower?"

"No, she's shoving food down her throat and putting on pants. So! Tell me, what's it feels like to be in love with
that
one." he pointed to the bedroom.

Brooke giggled. "She has her moments, but I guess it's good. I know I don't want to be away from her for any length of time, and when I am with her, I can’t get close enough. I want to be in her skin, but I don't want to smother her so some definite restraint is involved."

Wade opened is mouth to speak when Cayden bellowed from the other room.

"Plain ham on bread? I'm gagging in here? Where the hell is my beer?"

Wade looked sheepish and Brooke's eyes widened.

"Oh, you bad boy." The blonde got up and hurried towards Cayden's voice. She tapped on the door as she pushed it open and was pleasantly surprised to see Cayden standing there in her panties. Her back was turned and Brooke couldn't stop the wolfish grin from stealing her lips.

"Good grief Wade, I'm choking to death in here, my back is sweating and Brooke will be here any second! I need to find pants!"

"I think you look fine just like that."

Cayden spun around and blushed. "Oh, hi." she said her face turning dark red.

"It's just my opinion, but I have no complaints." Brooke handed over the beer and stood back to admire her lover.

Cayden drank, never taking her eyes from Brooke. "You're staring at me, my... it."

Brooke nodded. "I happen to be very fond of
it
."

Cayden chuckled. "Well, either you strip down to your panties, or stop gawping, cuz it's no fair."

Brooke made like she was going to open her pants, when Wade interrupted.

"Hey, do I have to take the hose to you two? How's about some socializing?"

Brooke frowned momentarily. "He's right you know. We should..."

"Yeah." Cayden agreed. "We'll be right out!" she yelled.

"Trust me?" Brooke asked.

The tall woman nodded, a little puzzled.

Brooke reached into the open drawer and pulled out some shorts. "Here, decision final."

Cayden grinned and put on the shorts. "Hey, do you trust me?"

"Of course."

Cayden fidgeted a little and pursed her lips. "Do you think we have to talk?"

"About what?" Brooke wondered.

"I don't know. Us?"

"What about us? Is something wrong?" Brooke began to panic.

"No!" Cayden hugged Brooke for reassurance. "Nothing like that. It's just I thought maybe, well, I don't really know.... this is like the first time... I spoke to Jo and Wade...."

Brooke cut her off. "Cayd, it's alright. Do you love me?" The brunette nodded. "Do you trust me?" another nod. "Well the same here. I think that as long as we agree on that, we can work anything through."

Cayden nodded mutely, still uncertain.

"Okay, well, what did Jo and Wade say?'

"Jo said what you said."

"Great minds and all that." Brooke grinned. "What pearl of wisdom did Wade give you?"

"Wade told me to chill out, put my big girl panties on and deal with it."

Brooke laughed. "I have a question for you. Do you think it's normal to want you every second of the day?"

Cayden's eyes widened. "God I hope so. That's how I feel."

Brooke felt instant relief. "It doesn't scare you?"

"Sure... this whole thing scares me a little, but knowing I'm not alone, makes a big difference."

Brooke stepped into Cayden's arms and rested her cheek against the tall woman's chest. Cayden's heart beat soothed her like it would a nervous puppy. She looked up into loving blue eyes and smiled happily. "You'll never be alone."

"Promise?" Cayden bent her head to meet Brooke's lips.

"Promise." Brooke whispered before her lips were claimed in a kiss filled with love, honesty and hope.
