. It is easier to remember the names in such a case because while you are speaking on the phone, you can note down their name straightaway. Then you can associate it directly with the matter of discussion or with their voice rather than the face. Concentrate on the texture of the voice like husky, sweet, sharp, loud etc. or his accent.

Q30. My work requires me to meet new people every now and then. I tried remembering their names by turning it in to a visual image but found it a little difficult and time consuming. What should I do?

Ans
. ‘Practice makes a man perfect.’ Although in the beginning you may find it difficult, it will become a habit if you practice it regularly. You can start with your phone book and rehearse the names from it or try remembering names of people where it is not necessary to remember so that you are not under any pressure, like some salesperson at a departmental store
