It has finally happened. Shannon and Luca have gotten married. Everyone has come to Italy for this special occasion, and I mean everyone. I look around at all the friends and family that have come into our lives.

Everyone is sorting their shit out and finding happiness. Well almost everyone. My eyes land on Nico. My little brother is so unhappy. I owe him so much for what he did for my family. I will never be able to repay him for putting his life on the line for my little princess.

I can only hope that my sons will be like their uncles and not their father. Nico and Michael have become even more important to me in the last few years. There will never be another day where I don’t proudly talk about my brothers and my sister. And never again will any of them call themselves Zuko.

“Don Donati, it is a pleasure to meet you,” an Irish timbre pulls at my ear.

“Cole, is it,” I say as I turn to face Wyatt Black and his green-eyed, buzzed cut replica.

“Aye, Cole is the name but everyone calls me Brooklyn,” he shrugs.

I throw my head back and laugh. “But you are from Ireland,” I say with a smile.

He smirks with a gleam in his eyes. “Aye, but my father moved the family to the States when I was a teen. Myself and a few of my brothers just returned home a few years ago to handle business, getting back to our roots,” he waves off.

“Yes, but I here you will be in my neck of the woods from now on,” I reply.

“Like I said we lived in New York for years, before going back and forth for the family business. So you are in my city now,” he says with a smile that takes the bite out of his words.

I chuckle. “You Blacks can shit talk,” I say looking at Wyatt.

“We back that shit up too,” Wyatt snorts. “You have seen it for yourself. Beside this one here is an O’Brien.”

“I have,” I laugh. “What can I do for you?”

I know this is not completely social. That is confirmed when a smile covers Brooklyn’s face. I eye him and Wyatt.

“Your wife’s new friend, I want her,” Brooklyn states matter of factly.

I furrow my brows and look between the two men. It takes a second before I realize who he is talking about. Valentina has hired a new nanny. They have become like sisters in the last month they have known each other.

“And how do you know that she is my wife’s new friend,” I lift a questioning brow.

“Because I am the one she is running from. I am the reason she showed up on your doorstep. It is my business to know everything about her. DJ is just as Irish as I am. Born and raised there. Don’t let that beautiful brown skin fool you. She hides that sexy ass accent of hers well,” Brooklyn says as his eyes find the woman in question.

He is right. I noticed in her interview that at times a slight accent would slip into her speech. She is a very attractive woman, although I wouldn’t have known she was born and raised in Ireland if I had not done a deep background check on her. This new information, however, is intriguing.

“So what does this have to do with me,” I ask.

“I am a man of respect. You are a friend of my family’s. I just want to let you know that one of the women under your roof belongs to me, and I am coming for her,” with that Brooklyn turns and walks away.

I roar with laughter and shake my head. Wyatt laughs with me and pats me on the shoulder. We both watch DJ fidget as she eyes Brooklyn from across the room.

“That fucker has some screws loose,” Wyatt chuckles.

“We all have one,” I laugh.

“Yeah, speaking of which. Is Nico going to be okay? He is not the man I first met,” Wyatt says with a tinge of concern.

“He will be fine. My wife has made it her mission to see to it,” I smirk.

“So… how does it feel to be Don Uri Donati,” Wyatt smirks.

“Same Uri, different day. I feel no different. I have been running things in the background for the Donati family for years. Now I am just doing it out in the open for the Caprisi family,” I turn to look at him. “We are all doing what is right. It will create a fresh start.”

Wyatt doesn’t look at me. He knows what I am talking about. “Yes, I know. It is the only reason I agreed to it,” he nods his chin toward his family, including the brood of Irish kin that has come along for this event. “They all mean well. This will cause them to do well.”

“Exactly, Sam is smart. He knows what he is doing,” Uri replies.

“Yeah, and for once I hope it doesn’t start a war,” Wyatt chuckles dryly.

I toss my hand in the air as if presenting a known solution. “And if it does, we’ll just make them hush.”
