“Good morning, Freshmen.”  Melissa’s breath stopped at the sound of the familiar voice – though now it was smooth and low, not raw and ragged.  “I am Professor Ian Green, your head of faculty.” 

His eyes sought her out and held her gaze for a moment.  “I’m very proud of our intake this year.  I see numerous possibilities for you.  It’s going to be a very exciting term.”

Melissa let her breath out in a long hiss, her heart fluttering in her chest.  Exciting was certainly the word.
