Jake didn’t hesitate, either, climbing in right behind her, planting kisses on her shoulders and on the nape of her neck.

Holly shuddered when he tugged her gently backward against him. Turning her head to the side, she looked right into his eyes, and like magnets their lips locked in what Holly called
Titanic
style. She loved kissing Jake, no matter the ways, positions, or circumstances. When the strain became too much for her neck, Holly twisted her body around and climbed on top of him.

Jake’s hands grabbed her butt cheeks and pulled her harder against him, while his lips trailed from her jawline, down and across to her shoulder, and then farther down to her breast.

She moaned breathlessly as he gently sucked on one of her nipples, following it with a groan when she felt his manhood harden.

“You like that?” he asked, thrusting his hips upward.

“You know I like whatever you do, Hooligan.”

Grinning, he kissed her again. The bathroom seemed to heat up even more, and it had nothing to do with the water’s temperature. Suddenly, Jake’s butt lost traction and his body slipped, splashing water over the edges. They tried but failed to not make a racket.

“Shhhh… Sam is sleeping,” Jake whispered, a naughty grin evident on his face. “Are you warm yet?”

Holly nodded, still giggling, immediately following it with a yelp when Jake climbed out with her in his arms.

“Just don’t slip on your way out of the bath, please,” she begged him. “That would be the cherry on the top if we ended up breaking our arms or something tonight.”

“That’s not going to happen. I’m not a klutz like you.”

“Oh, please! What happened in the bathtub a couple of seconds ago?”

“Shut up,” he growled, pinching her backside. Jake wrapped her, as well as himself, in a towel keeping the warmth the bath had left them with trapped, picked her up once again and carried her through to the bedroom.

Holly dropped her towel and climbed into bed; Jake did the same but covered her body with his, pulling the duvet over his back and both their heads.

The foreplay in the bath had been enough and without wasting any time, Jake sheathed himself inside her, pulling out slowly and then plunging back in with slightly more force.

Holly’s mind reeled, and her muscles clenched as heat warmed her from the inside out. She’d happily have sex with Jake every single day of her life and never complain.

Holly was a screamer, of that there was no doubt, although she’d tried on a few occasions to keep it in. She’d eventually given up and opted instead to concentrate on not being as loud. After all, one could scream internally—although still somewhat audible—in the throes of sex if one tried hard enough. In the end, it was still a struggle as Jake drove her insane time and time again.

The sweet spot between Holly’s legs began to itch, and the pit of her stomach felt as if it was going to explode. Sometimes, she felt as if she would burst right out of her skin; that’s how Jake made her feel every single time. She bit his shoulder to keep her squealing at bay, but the groan from Jake told her that he absolutely loved it whenever she went semi-vampire on him.

Her orgasm kept on building and she dug her nails deep into his back.

In response, Jake thrust harder and deeper, accompanying his movements with grunts.

Holly bit down harder on his shoulder, convinced she must have drawn blood, but while her teeth remained attached, her mouth opened in order to release the whimpering that had built up. “I’m close,” she ground out in his ear.

Jake’s response was to clamp his lips down on hers, drawing her tongue into his mouth. They dueled, sucked, retreated and teased, until Holly’s toes felt as if they were going to curl backward from the pleasure that rippled up and down her body. She shoved her face into Jake’s neck, again struggling to muffle the sounds of pure ecstasy.

And then it came, that over-the-top, exploding feeling that lasted, sadly, for about ten seconds. Holly rode him fiercely until she was spent, collapsing like a rag doll thrown onto a bed or dropped on the floor.

Jake stopped, pulled out gently, and rolled onto his back, breathing like a freight train.

Mustering every bit of energy she could in order to speak, Holly managed to croak, “I hope this is never going to stop.”

Jake snorted. “The only time it will stop is when I’m six feet under.” Pulling himself up on to his elbows, he said, “I’m damn thirsty, need something to drink. You want anything?”

“Yes, please. Just some water.” She watched him get up off the bed and walk butt naked—proud of it, too—to the closet where he retrieved a pair of shorts and pulled them on.

When he noticed her ardent look, he cheekily drawled, “Wipe your mouth, Bee Puke, you’re drooling.”

Holly was gob-smacked. “You’re full of it, aren’t you? But, I’ll admit… that’s one fine looking ass, Mr. Peters.”

Chuckling, Jake left.

Snuggling into the pillow, she took a couple of deep breaths to calm her heart.

Fuck, what on earth am I going to do?

She didn’t know how she was going to cope with seeing him only once or twice a week. Her insecurities wreaked havoc with her mind, but she still couldn’t help thinking about the new female interns who would work right beside him.

If Jake needed sex as much as they were having it lately, who was to say that he wouldn’t…

Stop it, Holly! Jake isn’t Brandon, not even close.

She didn’t really believe he’d do that to her.

You just have to remind him what it is you can do that others didn’t seem to get right. You just have to remind him of how you make him feel.

She giggled at her thoughts, which were kind of running rampant. Just then, Jake walked into the room.

“What are you giggling about?”

“Get your ass here, and you’ll see.”

“I like that, and I’ll save you the trouble of having to ask twice.” Jake placed the glass of water on the nightstand, jumped into bed, and pulled the covers over them.

And Holly got ready to give him another of the biggest orgasms of his life.

“FUCK!” JAKE WAS OUT OF BREATH. “WHAT THE HELL, Bee Puke?”

Holly’s grin was naughty. “Did you enjoy that?”

“Did I… What?” He looked at her disbelievingly. “Are you shitting me? That thing…”—He twirled his finger about—“…you do with your body. Is that even possible?”

She laughed outright. “I seem to be fine, so I’m sure it is.”

“How do you do that?”

“Oh, no. It’s a secret, mister.”

He pulled a face, kissed her one more time, and then slid his arm under her body and promptly fell asleep.

The sun streamed into the room the next morning, waking them both up. Holly hadn’t felt any aches last night, but she sure felt them this morning. Maybe what she was capable of doing with her body wasn’t normal at all.

“Good morning, beautiful,” Jake croaked beside her.

“Morning, Hooligan,” she said sleepily.

Jake groaned. “How long am I going to hear that for?”

“Until the day you die.”

“I need to shower,” Jake mumbled, getting up.

“Go. I’m way too pooped to get up just yet.”

He walked to the bathroom, smiling.

Holly heard the shower start, and if her body hadn’t been pounding the way it currently was, she would’ve joined him. But the way she felt at that moment, she did not want to have sex for the next couple of weeks.

She laughed inwardly, thinking how that might just be their solution after all. To have crazy hot sex, sex that would leave her body aching for days, and then maybe she wouldn’t miss him that much. But she knew that was a lie. Jake was so much more to her than someone to have sex with. He was everything she’d ever wanted.

Crawling out of bed, she walked like a penguin to the closet. She had approximately two minutes max to get ready, otherwise she’d make him late and he would more than likely never let her do that to him again. She grabbed a pair of shorts and a T-shirt.

Today was the day they would go back home; the holiday was over. She really wasn’t looking forward to it, as Jake would start his internship the following week. Never in a million years would she have thought that she’d fall for a doctor, and not just any doctor, a freaking neurologist at that.

Holly fanned herself just thinking about it, when she felt his arms around her. She hadn’t even heard the shower turn off.

Jake kissed her on the cheek, following that with a slap on the ass. “We should hurry, we still need to pack.”

“Aye, captain,” she joked.

“I’ll show you tonight what a captain is capable of,” he teased, making her laugh.

“Oooh, I can’t wait.”

“Don’t start, we really don’t have time, sweetheart.”

“I’m not starting anything,” she argued.

“Oh, no. You are just driving me insane.” He pulled her into his arms.

“You are the one who’s always starting things. I’m just an innocent bystander.”

“An innocent what?” He pretended to cough.

She giggled again. “You heard me just fine.”

“Right. Innocent bystander, indeed. We’ll see how innocent you are tonight.” He walked to the door. “I’ll make us a quick breakfast. I’m starving.”

“I’m sure Bernie has already cooked up a storm,” she yelled after him, glad that he’d left without taking things further. She wouldn’t have been able to have sex with him again in any case without showing her discomfort.

She slipped on her shoes and walked out of the room slowly.
Fuck, what was I thinking, twisting my body like that?
Maybe Jake was right; if she ached that much, it couldn’t be good for her body.

When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she caught Bernie’s eyes, but was elated over the fact that both Jake’s and Leo’s backs were turned to her. It was evident that Bernie was on the verge of saying something, but Holly shook her head. She kind of managed to continue walking in as normal a manner as possible. However, Bernie wasn’t one to be fooled and chuckling went back to placing fresh bread in the toaster.

They were ready to leave at around mid-morning. Dani arrived just as they finished packing the SUV, ready to collect the keys from Jake again.

“Don’t be a stranger, Holly. And don’t break this one’s heart, you hear?” She winked.

“Me? Never,” Holly assured her.

Jake grabbed Dani and pulled her in for a bear hug. “We will see you soon, I hope.”

“I’ll probably see you again in five years. Doctors don’t get many breaks.”

“Now, Dani, don’t go scaring Holly,” Jake teased.

Waving their goodbyes, they got on road for the journey back home.

Jake had started his internship a month ago. She had to admit, it wasn’t that bad. She saw him a couple of nights during his first week, even if it was only at eight in the evening, although he normally stayed until around ten. She missed staying with him and wished that she could just move in with his ass, period.

But the week that followed was tough. Jake’s shift began at six, so he never visited as he was extremely punctual, which meant that Holly didn’t see him for seven days straight.

The week after that things reverted back to normal, but then night shift began again.

She was missing him terribly and couldn’t wait to see him—one more day to go—which would be his first full day off.

She marked the day with a huge red marker on her calendar as he’d promised that he was going to spoil her rotten, and make up for all the horrible evenings he’d had to work.

Lately, Holly had been feeling a little tired and hadn’t had much of an appetite. She hoped it wasn’t the flu, or something she’d caught which would ruin her night with Jake completely. That would be just her luck.

She’d been surprised when Jake phoned her at midday the next day, telling her that he’d reserved a table at an Italian restaurant that one of his father’s friends owned. Apparently, the man constantly asked Jake when he was going to visit him for a good bowl of pasta.

“I don’t know if it’s a good idea, Jake. I… umm, haven’t been feeling too good, lately.”

“You coming down with something?”

“I’m not sure. It doesn’t really feel like the flu, but I feel lethargic.” It was the best word she could come up with.

“That’s not nice, Bee Puke. But I miss you, Holly, and I promise that after tonight you will feel fresh again. Please?”

Holly snorted. “Okay, then. Pick me up around seven at Bernie’s.”

“You took that beat-up Beetle to work?”

“Don’t insult the Beetle just because it’s not a BMW.”

Jake chuckled. “We’ll have to do something about that.”

“Uh-huh. One day,” she replied.

“She you later, Bee Puke.”

“Later, Hooligan.”

As soon as Holly disconnected, Marabella raised her eyebrows. “Are you okay?”

“I don’t know. But I do know that I don’t feel well.”

“How long have you been feeling like this, sweetheart?”

“A day, maybe two. I’m sure it’s just a stomach bug or something.”

“Nevertheless, Holly, you should go to the doctor.”

“I promise I will, just not today. It’s the only night we can really spend time together.”

Marabella stroked Holly’s back. “You have to get used to it, Holls. Doctors rarely have lives outside of hospitals.”

“Tell me about it.”

Bernie and Leo looked just as worried as Holly was when she slumped into the house at five-thirty. But she continued telling everyone that she would be just fine. Bernie made her a cup of coffee and she had to admit, she felt somewhat better after that.

Seven o’clock finally arrived and Jake picked her up, which made her feel ten times better. What if she was feeling this way because she wasn’t seeing him as much anymore? Perhaps that was her ailment; she’d gotten Jake fever. It sounded pathetic, even to her. Holly was of the mind to pull herself together.

Once they entered the restaurant, the first thing Holly noticed was that it was cozy and extremely Italian. Jake introduced her to Maro, the owner, and were thereafter led to one of the tables in the corner.

The service was very personal; she noticed that quite a number of patrons knew one another. She now understood why Jake loved this restaurant so much, as everyone spoke to everyone, laughed at one another’s jokes, and the ambiance was relaxing.

Alone time with Jake was minimal, as it seemed every second person stopped by their table to greet him, wanting to know how he was doing.

Holly merely watched, smiled on occasion and sipped slowly on her drink. And just like that she suddenly felt dizzy. She closed her eyes quickly, hoping that whatever was going on would pass, fast.

What the hell is going on with me?

Hot flushes traveled up and down her body. She eyed the drink she was having and taking a deep breath, placed the glass on the table, sliding it to one side, and then got up.

Placing her hand on Jake’s shoulder to get his attention, she said, “I’m just going to the ladies’ room. I won’t be long.”

Jake winked and continued speaking to a big guy who just couldn’t stop babbling about his motorcycle.

Once away from the commotion, Holly entered one of the stalls and closed the door. She put the lid down on the toilet and dropped onto it. She now knew that having agreed to tonight had been a mistake, but she couldn’t have canceled on him. She’d missed him so much, and then when he’d begged… she just couldn’t have denied him.

The main door opened and two women’s voices filled the room. They kept yapping about their day. Their conversation turned and Holly found herself smiling.

“That guy in the corner is just simply gorgeous,” the one girl said.

“I have a list of things I would like to do with him,” her friend added.

Holly couldn’t help but wonder why some women were always like that. She didn’t mind the ‘gorgeous’ comment but the ‘things they wanted to do with him’ irritated the living crap out of her.

She blocked out their voices from her mind and concentrated on her spinning head. When she took a deep breath, the dizziness began to abate. She was sure that the drink she was having was to blame; something in it didn’t agree with her.
