He smiled hearing her
protest when
he slid out of her
, rolling onto his side
,
then began s
troking her hair
.

             
“Are you ok
ay
, r
abbit
?” 

             
“H
mmmm
,
” she hummed rolling onto her side to wrap her arm around his waist while throwing one leg over his. 
Touching his cheek, she felt her throat thicken with emotion.  “Thank you
,
Seth…” then placed her finger on his mouth to stop whatever he was about to say.  “Please let me finish.  I really need to say this.  Thank you for…” again she hesitated…”Thank you for taking your time with me.” 

             
“You are welcome
.
”

             
Stretching like a cat, h
er
voice
was sleepy
.  “I feel so good
right now
.
”

             
Seth
lifted the sheet over her
,
then
held
her
as she drifted off to sleep.

             
The light from the nightstand cast
gentle rays around them
,
but he was not relaxed
like her
. 
He felt an
overwhelming
rage begin to form deep within him.
He
always
knew
that whatever had happened to her had
to have
been
bad because her nightmares
were so intense
.   N
ow, after
making
love to her
,
he
had a
good
idea
that
some sort of
sexual
assault
was part of her secret
. 
Pulling together all the little pieces of facts that he did know about her
,
he figured he could come up with some sort of timeline
.

             
Seth
stayed
an hour waiting for Alex to be in a deep sleep.  Quietly he eased out of the bed
taking care not to disturb her
and then
took a quick shower.  Pulling
on his
sweat
pants,
he tied
the
drawstring
loosely
while he walked back into the bedroom to check on her
again
.  He smiled softly as he saw that she was
now
lying on her side
hugging
his pillow tightly.  Her breathing was deep
and undisturbed
. 
Seth wondered if she had any nightmares
lately
.
With long
silent
strides,
he walked
down the hallway
to his office. 
S
nap
p
ing
on the desk light
before turning on
his computer
,
he took out a set of keys
out of the drawer,
w
hile w
aiting for it to boot up
.
W
alk
ing
to the black file
cabinet, he
unlocked
it
,
then reach
ed
into the
back
pulling
out a black folder with an embossed emblem on the front.

             
Seth
quickly
opened up the folder, his eyes glancing down the first page, not seeing what he
wanted
flipped over to the next.  With a look of satisfaction,
he turned back to the desk, picked up the phone
,
and
dialed the number listed.

             
After two
rings,
the ringing
stopped
.
 

             
“Hello?”

             
“Mark,
it
s
Seth
.
”

             
“Hey!  Where have you been you old codger?  Coming back to the dark side anytime soon?

             
Seth smiled. 
“Right now I am fine right where I am.”

             
“State Trooper huh? You know they would have placed you some
where
else in the division.”

             
“
I didn’t go looking for this job, I
am
undercover.” 

             
“Yeah, I heard.  I also heard that you caught the guy 6 months ago.”

             
“Something else has come up Mark
,
t
wo things actually.”

             
“
Y
ou know it wa
sn’t your fault.  It wasn’t any
one
’
s fault.”

             
Seth
did not
respond to Marks comment.
“It hasn’t been that long Mark
, I will be back someday.  Right
now,
I need you
r help
to pull some information for me on
someone
.  I need whatever you can find
.
”

             
“Sure thing
,
buddy
, anything for you.
Is this classified?”

             
“No, should be fairly simple
,
and I will do some digging on my own
at the barracks. 
Her n
ame is…”

             
“Her
?!
”  Seth could feel the question hanging in the air
over the line
.

             
“Her name is Alexandra
Tuttle
.
Could have possibly gone by Grace at some point
,
and I have no
social. 
Seth
cringed at how little informat
ion he could provide to Mark.
“The only other piece of information I have is her
current
address.”

             
“All right, well, this shouldn’t take that long.  I will give you a call over the next couple of days.  We miss you
,
Seth
.
I miss you.”

             
“Miss you also
,
Mark.  Have you spoken to Jeanette at all?”

             
“Yeah, she is doing pretty good.  The baby is cute as babies go.  She asks about you every time I talk to her.  You should really call her.”

             
“I know.  I will.  Thanks again
,
Mark.”

             
“Sure thing
.

alk to you soon.”

             
Seth hung up
.
Turning to his
computer,
he stared
a
t
a blank
spread sheet
before starting to enter
all of Alex’s information.  He was sure if she ever found out what he was doing, she would be incredibly upset.  He knew that she was a ward of the state in
Maine
, pr
obably from very young to 18. 
He also knew that she was married after m
eeting her friend Charles and that marriage
did not
last long. 
Frowning
at the
screen,
he
hated seeing
all of the blank spaces.  Switching to another computer, he began accessing the public records
looking for anything that would pertain to Alex
.
  Two hours later, Seth
leaned back in his chair while rubbing his face.
His forehead
furrowed in
to
a deep frown.  He found very little on her
anywhere in the general publ
ic records, and having worked in the g
overnment for as long as he had
, knew that this was not a good
sign.  There should be
something
out there on her.  It was if she never existed before moving to
Grove
Street
.

             
Leaning forward again, his
chair squeak
ing in protest, his mind in deep thought
,
he
heard the
sound of the shower
.
  Closing the
folder
quickly
, he shut down the computer and
put
everything back into place
before
shut
ting
off the light.

             
Silently
,
he walked back to the bedroom
and then
stood
leaning against the doorway,
watching her.
She was so damn cute.
She had found a dress shirt of his and even though she was tall,
it came to mid thigh on her. 
She was in the process of moving the pillows and then bent over the bed trying to p
ull the sheets back into place.  H
e felt himself
becoming aroused
as the shirt rose
high
enough for him to see
bare
buttocks
peeking out
.

             
Quietly he walked over to her
placing
both hands on her hips.   Startled she stood up straight and then
immediately
relaxed as he bent his head to her
ear
, pulling her back against him
so she could feel the impact she was making on his body
.
  She moaned softly.

             
“Hello

.  What are you doing

aking the bed so quickly; y
ou don’t think
you’re
going anywhere do you?
”

             
“Hi

Her voice caught in
he
r thro
a
t when she felt how aroused he was
again

and instead of trying to hide
it,
he
pulled her even closer so that she could feel all of him
.

             
Alex felt a warm rush between her legs
,
and her face grew hot.  Trying to turn to face him, he held her firmly in place.

             
“I have to
go,
” she whispered.

             
“Oh, I don’t think so
,
baby.  Not yet.” H
e slid his hand over her shoulder and down the front of her shirt grasping a breast in one hand
, squeezing gently
.  Then with his other hand
,
went
around touching her at her core.
Seth moaned
into her neck when he felt how wet she was already.  Seth took both
of his
hands and placed them on her hips
s
teadying
them both.  He knew that she was probably sore from their first encounter and wondered if he should
even
continue.  Feeling her move her hips against
him
was all the answer he needed.   Taking one
of his hands
,
he

ently push
ed
on her back so that she
bent
forward
over the bed, causing
her hips
to
jut
out
making her more accessible to him
.
Her
whole body shivered in anticipation.
