As they waded further into the fetid depths of the infection’s grip, the sense that they may have traded the punishing frying pan for the voracious fire struck all of them. There was much more to escaping than simply getting away, and that fact was becoming more apparent with each nervous breath. Was being on the run any better than hiding and waiting?
