“Who are you telling to go get a
room?”
Yohana
growled. Her teeth lengthened and she
started to follow, intent on dealing out some punishment, but
Per
pulled her close, imprisoning her in his arms.

“She’s right,” he growled.

“No one tells me what to do.”

“I’m telling you.”

“You don’t own me.”

“Oh yes I do. I’m your True Mate and
you’re in heat.”

Yohana
paused as she glared at him. Suddenly his words sank in.
“Oh fuck.”

“Yeah.
No shit. I just hope they have a room available.” He caught
her hand in his and tugged her from the ballroom.

When
Yohana
followed him more willingly as he led her toward the ballroom exit,
Per
sighed
, relief running through
him. He didn’t want to fight with her.
Especially not in
public and not here.
Just before they made their escape, Melinda stepped
in front of them both.

“Leaving so soon?” She smiled. “I
thought you planned to bid on some of the auction items. If you leave now, Will
won’t be happy.”

Yohana
growled, stalking forward. “Back off.”

Yohana
isn’t feeling well so we’re leaving early.” Per followed so he could prevent
his Mate from ripping Melinda a new one, if he had to.

“Oh?” Melinda looked
Yohana
up and down. “I can see that she doesn’t look well.
Red-faced.
Sweating.
What happened?
Did you get more exercise than you’re accustomed to when you were out dancing?”

Per groaned as
Yo
snarled. She took an aggressive step forward. Per caught her around the waist
and pulled her back against him.

“Come on, bitch,”
Yohana
taunted. “You think you’re fitter than me? Just try
me. I’ll gut you like a fish.”

Melinda’s eyes widened and so did
her smile. “She must have had too much to drink. How fascinating. Perhaps we
should let Will know about this?”

“She’s not drunk, Melinda.”

“No, I’m not, Dr. Mel. I’m quite
sober.”

“Mental
illness then?”

Yohana
pulled herself sharply from
Per’s
embrace and stepped up to Melinda, getting
right in her face. “It’s hormonal. The worst case of PMS you’ve ever seen, and
you’re right in my line of sight.
Time to duck and cover
before the explosion, honey, or you’ll find yourself getting treated for a bad
case of stupid and dead.”

Melinda stared at her. “Is that a
threat, Mayor
Whitewolf
?”

“I never threaten. I don’t have to.”

Per held back another groan. Her
fangs had elongated so that just the tips of her canines skimmed her lower lip.
Melinda gasped and took a step back.

“Isn’t that nice,
Per
,
darling? She’s getting over her case of stupid. Keep backing off, Dr. Mel, and
you just might escape the case of dead too.”

What
are you?”

“A very
possessive female.
If you so much as look at
Per
again, I’ll know it and you won’t enjoy the
repercussions.”
Yo
began to walk past her and
Per
relaxed, until she stopped even with Melinda. “Oh, and
if you do anything to hurt my man again, you’ll regret it. Per is under my
protection so you keep away in
every
way. Do you read me?”

“Yeah.
Absolutely.”
Melinda threw him a
terrified look and all but ran away.

“That wasn’t helpful,
älskling
.” Per caught her around the waist and
pulled her close

“Yes, it was. She will stay out of
your way from now on because I just made her piss her panties.”

Per smiled. “
Ja
,
you probably did, at that.”

“I did. She ran to the bathroom when
she left us.”
Yohana
gave him a hug. “Now let’s go
find us a room. I need to fuck you blind.”

“Now that’s sounds like a plan.” Per
threw back his head with a laugh and they headed for the front desk to book a
room.

Chapter Ten

“Can I help you, sir?”

“Yes, we’d like to book a room.”

Yohana
fought her growl…again. The woman working the front desk of
the hotel was all but eating
Per
visually.
Bright smile.
Wide eyes.
Dilated pupils.
Yo
could even
catch the whiff of aroused woman. The wolf inside
Yo
wanted to rip the girl’s throat out.

Instead, she leaned against her Mate
and pressed a kiss to his throat.
Claiming him.
Per
froze and she wasn’t sure if it was because he was turned-on, because her fangs
were just a touch too close to his jugular or because he was pissed that she
warned the other female off.

Yo
pulled him closer and nuzzled the spot just beneath and
behind his ear. He shuddered. Grasping her by the hair, he turned and planted a
fast, fierce kiss on her before turning back to the clerk as if nothing had
happened.

But something had happened all
right.
Yohana
was on fire. Her skin felt tight. Her
clit pulsed and she felt her pussy grow slick with need. Her heat cycle had
kicked up a notch. She rubbed against Per.

The desk clerk cleared her throat.
“We don’t have any rooms left.”

“None?”
Per tried to stop her undulations but to no avail.

“We might have a suite,” she
suggested.

“Please look.”

Yo
rubbed against his body, leaving her scent behind.
Marking her territory.
She reached under his jacket and
caressed the small of his back, teasingly tugging his shirt out of his pants.

Yohana
, stop.

I don’t take orders. I give them.

She purred mentally, pressing kisses
against his neck while she wormed her hand under his belt and into his slacks.
He caught her hand before she could do more damage, but she couldn’t stop the
teasing chuckle.

You will stop until we get to the
room.
His gaze captured hers, making her
shiver in anticipation. All of those Alpha impulses radiated in his glare.
Daring her to take him on.
Her lips curled into a taunting
smile, but she slid her hand out of his pants. He started to relax until she
let her hand fall lower to cup his ass and give him a squeeze. He jerked.

Damn it,
älskling
. Enough!

Yes, dear
, she teased, bringing her hand back to his waist, enjoying
the growl of irritation that escaped him.

“Um.
I.”

“A room?
Do you have
anything
?”
Yohana
asked as the woman stood there dumbfounded with her mouth open.

The desk clerk looked back at her
computer screen. “The honeymoon suite is available, but that’s the only room we
have left.”

“We’ll take it.” Per pulled out his
wallet and dug out a platinum piece of plastic.

Platinum?
Maybe I should be nice to you.

Like money would really impress you.

No, it doesn’t. But I can pretend if
you want.
He chuckled. She leaned in to press
a kiss against his jawline as the desk clerk took his card and completed the
paperwork for the room.

Seriously,
Yohana
.
Stop. I’m holding on by a thread and you do
not
want me to lose my control here in the lobby.

Very
well, lover.
I’ll play
nice.

Thank you.
Yo
took a step back but kept her hand on his arm as he signed
them in and handled the valet issue for his car.

“Per?
I thought you were going to bid on some of the auction
items.”

Per whipped around and placed
himself between her and Dr. Frieze. Hiding behind the good doctor stood
Melinda.
Yohana
narrowed her gaze, glaring at the
woman. Melinda was more persistent than she’d given her credit for.

“We needed to get away.
Yohana
isn’t feeling well.”
Yohana
tried to look sick, but Will wasn’t buying it. She could tell.

“I’m sorry to hear that,
Yohana
.” Will studied her.

“You can never predict when you’ll
want to vomit.” She shrugged, her gaze fastened on Melinda, who colored at the
obvious implication.

“Sir, here’s your room key. Do you
want the strawberries and champagne
that come
with the
honeymoon suite?”

“Honeymoon suite?” Will asked, his
lips twitching with amusement as he looked back and forth between them.

Per shrugged wordlessly, allowing
Will to draw whatever conclusions he wanted. Melinda scowled.

Since no one addressed the desk
clerk,
Yohana
did. “Yes, we’d like the strawberries
and champagne. And can you send up some chocolate syrup too, please?”

“Yes, ma’am.”
The desk clerk blushed but nodded.

“Chocolate
syrup?”
Melinda’s voice rose on the last
word and
Yo
smiled.

“I like chocolate and strawberries
together.”

Will chuckled. “Well, I hope you
feel better soon,
Yohana
.”

“I’m sure I will.”

“I’m sure you will too.” He turned
to Melinda, “Let’s go back to the party and leave these two to their…plans.”

“Of course,” Melinda said through
clenched teeth as she allowed Will to lead her away.

“Relentless, isn’t she?”
Yo
murmured.

“Evidently
so.”
He looked down at the key then back
at the desk clerk. “Please have the things there as soon as we get to the room.
I don’t want to be interrupted after we’ve settled in.”

She swallowed, looking at
Yo
then back at Per. “Yes, sir. Room service will meet you
at the door.”

“Good.”

Per took her hand and tugged
Yohana
after him, toward the elevators. She followed
willingly.
Eager to get upstairs as another wave of fire
swept across her skin.
She gasped. He poked the elevator button, looked
at her and then punched it again.
And again.

“Pressing it multiple times doesn’t
make it come faster,”
Yo
murmured.

“It doesn’t? That technique works
with females.”

Yohana
looked at him for a minute then laughed. “Hold that
thought, stud.”

The elevator doors finally opened to
discharge several people. Per tugged her into the car. Two men approached the
doors but
Per
stepped forward, a low growl in his
throat. His display dissuaded the men so they left. When the doors closed,
Yo
grabbed his jacket and tugged him toward her. She shoved
him against the wall and clutched his hair, pressing her mouth to his. He
groaned and gathered her in, his hands roaming down her back, finally cradling
her ass as their lips meshed. Hot tongues teased. Frantic hands stroked. Soft
gasps echoed. Per went for her zipper and tugged.

“Just don’t tear this dress,” she
groaned. “It’s brand new.”

“As long as
you don’t rip my jacket.”

“Deal,” she moaned as she tugged his
shirt completely out of his pants and began the task of unbuttoning each button
with fingers that felt as if they were encased in gauze.

He kept pulling at her zipper as she
ground her pelvis against his. Finally the slider moved and the teeth parted,
giving him access to her bare shoulders, at least until he reached the level of
her bustier. When his fingers traced the undergarment, he groaned.

“You wore it.”

“Yep.
I told you I would.”

Jag
vill
knulla
dig
,” he whispered against her mouth.

They barely noticed when the
elevator came to a halt until the doors opened. They turned to find an elderly
couple staring at them with wide eyes.
Yohana
pulled
away from
Per
and they straightened their clothes in a
rush.
