My dad sighs with relief and understanding of why I would help given my background. “Okay, let’s go get him.”

I sprint to my car with my dad in tow. Flinging the door open, I try waking Caydon up. “Caydon?” I lightly tap him on his face.

“Move out the way, Reece. I’m going to carry him to the shower. That should wake him up.” I step to the side and let my dad gain access to my car. “Holy shit.”

“What dad?” There is more worry on his face. He ignores me. Using all of his strength, he lifts Caydon from the car. “Dad, what’s wrong?”

“It’s Caydon. Annalisa’s son.”

Oh shit!
Everything just became complicated.

“Do you want me to call her?”

My dad huffs and puffs shuffling Caydon through our front door, then down the hallway to the bathroom. “No. Not yet.”

“Okay.” I help by turning on the shower. From there, I don’t know what to do. The next step is for Caydon to get naked. Seeing Caydon naked, for the first time, with my dad in the room, is not my idea of a good time. I’m uneasy and it shows.

“Reece, hang outside for a few minutes until I get him cleaned up. Get him some fresh clothes from my room. Throw a few towels down on the couch.”

I nod and do as my father tells me to do and wait by the couch. Within a few minutes, a slurring Caydon and my angry dad stumble to the couch. Caydon lays his head on the pillow and begins to snore. It’s a good sign. My dad, on the other hand, is not so happy.

He plunges into his chair. “What happened?”

Shrugging my shoulders, I answer. “It’s his twenty-first birthday. He took twenty-one shots. And I know he was pre-gaming before he got there.”

“Jesus, Reece. What kind of friends let someone drink that much?” He’s really angry.

The kind of friends that you don’t need. But who am I to judge?

“Caydon and I are not exactly friends. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t care for me…which should make for a real interesting Thanksgiving tomorrow.” I laugh trying to find the humor in all of this.

My dad smirks. He gets my dry humor. “What the hell am I going to tell his mom?”

“The truth. Her son is an ass. He drank too much. His friends are douchebags. The end.” I might be taking it too far.

“Reece.”

“Dad.” I cock my head to the side.

“She’s worried about him, Reece’s Pieces. His girlfriend strings him along every chance she gets. Caydon has some self- esteem issues. His dad left before he was born. I knew his dad from high school…real asshole,” he explains. “He was the quarterback for the football team. Annalisa was the head cheerleader. They dated off and on in high school. Caydon’s dad got a scholarship to play football. Annalisa stayed here. She got pregnant with Caydon when his dad was a sophomore in college. Needless to say, Caydon’s dad didn’t want anything to do with Annalisa after that.”

He left me’.

The picture my dad paints gives me a clearer picture of what I’m dealing with. “Annalisa doesn’t have to worry about Caydon’s girlfriend. She’s engaged to someone else.”

My dad snickers. “Really?”

“Yep. He was with another girl tonight. It definitely wasn’t Hannah.”

“How did you get involved in all of this, Reece?”

“I’ve seen someone who has been in distress from drinking too much. I couldn’t leave him there.”

Yes, Caydon is cute. And when he doesn’t speak, I find myself thinking of him in ways my father wouldn’t approve. That is not why I chose to help him. Truthfully, I chose to help Caydon because I’ll be damned if another person I know dies for the sake of a good time. It’s a selfish way to die.

“You’re a good kid, Reece.” Within seconds my dad’s arms are wrapped around me.

“I’m not a kid anymore, Dad.”

He releases me and lets out a sigh. “Yeah. I can see that.” He’s tired. The incident is too much for him. If he can’t fix it by using his fists, it can’t be fixed. “I have to call Annalisa. Do you mind looking after him while I make the call?”

“Dad, when you are done get some rest. I’ll watch him.”

“You sure?”

“Yep. Go.”

“Okay.” He gives me a hangover cocktail to give to Caydon when he wakes up. Then he prepares to go to the bedroom to inform Annalisa that her son is a drunken asshole.

I place the concoction on the table. I jump to my feet and hug my dad. “Thanks, Dad.”

He smiles and gives me a kiss on my forehead. The sweet gesture makes me feel like I’m a little girl again. The feeling I get from it is comforting and makes me feel safe.

After my dad leaves to call Annalisa, I plop down in front of Caydon. It may seem creepy but I like watching him sleep. Besides, when will I get the chance again to enjoy his dark lashes and plump lips? However, it’s like I’ve done this before. Watched him.

Gosh, his lashes are so dark and long it looks like he is wearing mascara. It’s unfair. Girls go through tubes and tubes of makeup just to get lashes like that.

The rise and fall of his chest calms me. Hesitantly, I touch the inky black piece of hair that falls onto his forehead. My hands are not satisfied. As if they have a mind of their own, they gently touch the bottom of his lip. For a second, it looks as if my touch makes him smile in his sleep.

“Why don’t you like me?” I whisper to myself. If I am being honest with myself, his animosity toward me bothers me. I ask myself why I care. The more I think about it the more exhausted I become. My lids close over my eyes.

Caydon whines in his sleep and I’m immediately attentive again. His eyes slowly open. Confusion fills his light brown eyes. His head drops to the left and we are face to face. Caydon gives me a drunken smile. He hiccups and I immediately put the bucket under him.

“Do you feel like you are going to get sick again?” I ask.

Caydon is still in a drunken stupor. His movements are slow and his speech is slightly slurred. “Nah. I’m okay.”

His eyes close and I think he is going back to sleep again. They slightly open again and focus on me. “You’re so pretty.”

“You’re so bent. Go back to sleep,” I say. Drunk people say stupid shit.

Caydon slowly extends his hand to touch my hair. ‘Drunk’ Caydon seems to like me. “Yeah,” he slurs. “I’m fucking shitfaced.” He laughs to himself. And, I feel like I’m not privy to what is going on in his head. “I think about you…you know. You’re always naked when I think about you.” Then he giggles again.

There is an old adage that says, ‘A drunk man’s actions are a sober man’s thoughts’. I wonder if it is true. My mom used to tell me all kinds of interesting things when she was drunk. When my mom was drunk, she told me how much she hated her parents. Whenever my mom’s parents were present she said how much she loved them. ‘Drunk’ mom apologized for being a crappy parent. ‘Sober’ mom avoided talking to me at all about her drinking. Caydon’s admission confuses me. I don’t know what to think.

“Caydon, you need to drink this.” I hold the orange hangover cure in my hand. He nods and tries to sit up unsuccessfully. With one hand, I boost him to a sitting position. He lies back on a pillow for support. I hold the drink to his lips and advise him to drink. He takes sips here and there, breaking to rest his head. I’m kneeling in front of him, positioned between his legs. His legs squeeze me. My eyes meet his when he does this. I’m not expecting the amusement that dances behind them. He takes another sip and his legs squeeze me tighter. I don’t try to get away. But I am afraid that I’m going to spill what is left in the glass on both of us. “Cay, I’m going to spill this if you don’t stop.”

Caydon gives me a lopsided grin. “Do you want me to stop?”

Yes…no. I don’t know.

“You’re drunk,” I state the obvious. “You don’t even know what you want.”

He laughs again. “You didn’t answer my question. I don’t think you want me to stop.” He takes the glass from my hand and places the glass on the end table. “Come here.”

Damn him. Damn Caydon with his long lashes and pretty lips. “You don’t even like me.”

“Here’s to us starting over,” he gabbles, pulling me onto his chest and drawing my mouth to his. He tastes like orange and mint. He must have brushed his teeth when he was with my dad because there is not even a hint of vomit.

As our lips move in unison, I believe I felt the earth move.

The thought of wrenching myself away crosses my mind. But I enjoy the floating, dazed feeling kissing Caydon gives me. Caydon sucks the bottom of my lip and I’m lost in him. My body takes over and my legs lift to straddle him. Caydon likes the new position and cups my ass bringing my heat to his erection.

What I feel excites me and scares me at the same time. My mind is aware that I’m inexperienced. On the contrary, my body is acting like I know what I am doing by gyrating against Caydon’s cock. By the sound of it, Caydon likes what I’m doing. Between every breath he tells me that I’m driving him mad.

Caydon trails kisses along my jawline to my earlobe. “Damn, you feel so good. Keep grinding against me,” he whispers in my ear.

I obey. Well, my body does. My mind hasn’t caught up with my body’s reactions. As a matter of fact, my body is doing a pretty good job pretending it knows what it is doing. Caydon and I are practically fucking with our clothes on. And I have never fucked before. Thankfully, Caydon is still drunk because he seems unaware of my inexperience.

Caydon slides his hand up the front of my shirt, cupping my breast on the outside of my bra. “Ah,” I cry out.

“You like that, don’t you.” He bites the bottom of my lip. “Tell me more about what you like, Reece.”

“I like how this feels.” I refer to him touching my breast.

“Say it.”

“I like you touching me.”

For someone who could barely walk two hours ago, I’m shocked how quickly Caydon removes my bra. My shirt is yanked up and I feel Caydon’s hot, moist mouth on my nipple. He licks and sucks both breasts until I’m panting and grinding harder into him.

“Ah, fuck.” Caydon swears. I feel his hips meet mine as our pace quickens.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

* * *

Caydon

I don’t know how I got here. But I sure as hell like where I am. Reece is straddling and riding me as if her life depends on it. I fucking love it.

There are three things that I’m absolutely sure of. I am still pretty wasted. I know what I’m doing but everything seems like a dream. The other part I’m sure of is that I don’t have a fucking clue how I ended up here with Reece. But I know I don’t want to be anywhere but here with her.

I place my hands firmly on her ass and force her down making contact with my cock. Damn, if that doesn’t make me want to blow my load, I don’t know what will. I repeat the action over and over again while sucking on her flesh.

She stills and I can feel her hold her breath. Once Reece finally releases the breath, she whimpers in my ear. It hits me like a ton of bricks. She’s coming. I’m convinced that I’m dreaming because it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

I tug at the back of her head, guiding her face to me so I can kiss her. She yanks herself away from me. “I’m sorry. I can’t believe that happened.”

Reece is embarrassed. That’s definitely not part of my dream. “Hey, it’s okay. Come here.” I try pulling her back to me. She resists and jumps from my lap.

Seriously?

“Caydon, I’m sorry. I can’t. I just can’t.”

“What’s wrong? I thought we were having fun.”
I was having a lot of fun.

“You’re drunk. I’m sober. You could accuse me of sexual assault in the morning.” She lets out a nervous giggle.

“Yeah, that’s not going to be a problem. Stop joking and come back to me.” I try taking hold of her hand.

“Caydon, please stop,” Reece whispers.

Don’t. Want. To. Stop.
I see how I affect her. Imagine what I can do if I am inside of her. My alcohol infused dick could give her pleasure the entire night. I grab her and place her back on my lap. I push my cock up through my jeans so she can feel me. She makes an ‘uh’ sound and picks up with the grinding motion that worked her into an orgasm five minutes earlier.

I unbutton the top of her jeans and slip my fingers down into wet center. And she is fucking wet. She begins to buck against my hand. It’s not enough. I want more. Greedily, I slide two fingers into where I want my cock to be. It’s a tight squeeze and I hear her suck in her breath. My eyes go wide with understanding. She’s a virgin.
Fuck. Yeah.

I won’t be a dick and try to take it from her.
Tonight.
But I’ll be damned if someone else tries to steal that prize. Reluctantly, I take my hand out of her pants. I kiss her softly, slightly sucking on her bottom lip.

“I think that’s enough for tonight. Lay here with me?” I ask. As painful as it is to leave my dick in the condition it is in, I’m not going to push her to do anything she’s not ready for. She’s confused at my sudden lack of interest in her pussy. It’s okay. I also see relief in her eyes, too.

“I better not. I can sleep in the chair. I don’t want my dad to see me sleeping with you. He might get pissed.”

“Your dad?” Drunken flashbacks of me getting pulled from a car by a big guy appear. To make matters worse, I recognize the guy. It’s my mom’s new boyfriend.

I try to make sense of this. He’s not Reece’s dad. Is he? He could be Reece’s brother.
No.

“The guy who helped me?” I ask.

“Yep. My dad.” She answers as if she’s reading my mind.

“My mom’s boyfriend. Fuck.” I thank God I didn’t get caught with my hands down Reece’s pants. Her dad could annihilate me.

“Yeah, awkward, huh?” she jokes.

I’m still too fucking tanked-up to deal with this. My face must tell all because I see Reece studying it.

“Caydon, relax. It’s not like we are related to each other. I mean...I get it. If they get married, you don’t want to be the guy who hooked up with his step-sister,” she says laughing.

“Has anyone told you that your humor is seriously twisted?”

“Once or twice.”

My head starts to pound. I chalk it up to the alcohol. I wince in pain. Within minutes, Reece has aspirin in my hand and a full glass of water.

“Get some rest, Caydon. We can deal with this in the morning. And, don’t worry, I know whatever this was between us tonight will be nothing tomorrow.”
