It’s no problem.” I replied,
thinking back to Mr. Teller’s brusque manner. I was about to
ask Carl about how he was finding his internship when the color
drained from his face as he looked out the window.

Confused, I turned.

Elliot was striding in, his gray suit fitting him perfectly. At first
though, I was upset that he’s not looking at me. But then I
noticed the glare on his face.

Clara,” he nodded to me. “Can
you tell me who this man is?”

I instantly got annoyed –
was
he jealous?

This is Carl Teller – an intern at my
firm.” At this Carl stood, his legs locked together in anxiety.

No, it’s not.” Elliot turned
with anger in his eyes to face Carl. “Get out – and get
your things from the firm and leave.”

Carl was shaking now, his eyes on the ground. Elliot seemed to swell
in size and tower above him. Carl looked to me once more before
dashing past Elliot and leaving. I stood, indignant.

What was that about?” I half screamed
and threw the barista girls a dirty look as they look scandalized.

Sit down, Clara.” Elliot commanded as
he took Carl’s vacated seat. I sat, though I wondered why I was
being patient at all. Elliot saw my expression and rushed to speak.

Carl was not that man’s name. His
name is John and he was planted by my sister to learn about your
habits. I imagine that during his time in your firm he’s being
taking note of where your comings and goings.”

I sat in silence for a moment, shocked by the noise.

Why?” Was all I could choke out,
looking at Elliot.

Because Ophelia hates me and she was no
doubt hoping that you were up to multiple elicit activities.”

The pause was tense.

Which I hope you haven’t.”
Elliot said, a smile breaking out.

I laughed, still shocked and shook my head incredulously.

He was looking at me and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

I immediately regretted that decision because Elliot was instantly by
my side, gripping my arm and hauling me out of my seat. Outside on
the sidewalk he held open the door of his limo for me and I slid in.

Text your office that you’re taking
the rest of the day off.” Elliot said to me before turning to
his driver. “Take us back to
the
Countess
, please.”

Time seemed to stop once Elliot and I stepped off the elevator. He
pulls me into his arms, kissing me intensely.

I’m sorry about my fucked-up family.”
Elliot whispered in my ear as he kissed my neck. I dropped my bag to
the ground and shrugged off my coat in response – he chuckled
into my mouth.

The moment I stepped across the bedroom door I knew that I was no
longer in control. Elliot slinked towards me and unzipped my dress. I
raised a hand to undo his tie, but he grabbed it and slapped it down
softly. He leaned forward and bit my neck and I winced. He took both
my hands and drew me closer to the bed.

He undressed me, but did not allow me to sit. I waited, impatient for
his touch as he kissed down my body, beginning at my neck and
continuing down. He kissed my hipbones, belly button and thighs until
I was tingling. I couldn't help but raise my legs every few seconds,
as though urging him to touch me faster.

When he found my sex, he found me ready. I blushed in the dim light
as he kissed me there. His tongue moved in sequence with my rolling
body and he listened closely to my moans and whines and reacted in
accordance to them. I was close – so close. When I was at the
point of begging, I knew he would stop - to tease me and teach me
patience. When he ceased moving his tongue I was lost in a world of
desire.

Oh.” I sighed, my head rolling back.
I made several attempts to touch him, but each time he dissuaded me
with a kiss on my hands and arms.

With a devilish grin I took his full length in my hand and felt him
expand as he watched my nipples harden in accordance to this. Slowly,
keeping eye contact, I spat into my hand and rubbed it into his
member. I moved him up and down, slowly at first. I squeezed gentle
at first but then I tightened my grip and watched with satisfaction
as he rolled his head backwards in enjoyment.

I sank to my knees and as I did, he groaned – knowing what’s
coming. I touched my lips to the tip at first, he quivered. I looked
up, eyes on him before I sweepingly took his full load into my mouth.
Thankful for my lack of a gag reflex, I sucked and roamed my tongue
over the sensitive spots. I watched him swell again and I knew he was
close. Slowly, I cupped his testicles in my hands and squeezed. This
continued for what seems like an eternity, but I knew that I was
enjoying it just as much, if not more than he was.

Quickly, Elliot stood up and slowly pushed my hands away from him and
I knew that he must be impossibly close. I became eager with
anticipation to have him inside me – I needed him and wanted
him simultaneously. This need only mounted further when he took a
moment to take it my breasts, silhouetted in the half light. He
looked me up and down and his sex seems to stir, catching my
attention and I shot him a wicked grin.

I watched him sit on the edge of the bed. He
pulled me down over him so that I was resting on him briefly. I was
cautious at first as I initially thought of his huge presence but
that thought is wiped from my mind as he plunged inside me, his hands
gripping my breasts with a fierce grip. I screamed in shock as I felt
how big he was – how could I have forgotten?

He filled me as he bounced me up and down. My breasts moved violently
as I moaned again and again.

I clenched my thighs together and watched him moan as he felt the
tightened space within me. I was surprised, I instantly felt
increasingly stimulated. I continued to clench my thighs together
tightly as I bounced up and down, my breasts moving viciously. I
couldn't help but lean backwards as a reflex, my back arching, and my
hands outstretched behind me, my fingers twisting around the sheets.
Elliot moaned as I leaned back and I knew this angle was good for
both of us. He gripped my hips, helping me move up and down more
quickly still.

Suddenly, he removed a hand from my hip. I barely noticed until I
felt him press a finger to my clitoris. He pressed hard at first, but
then moved in rapid circles and I cried out in pleasure. I could feel
myself building, faster now and I wanted to beg him to stop and go
harder simultaneously.

Up, down, up down.

I wasn't sure how long we continue this way, before he stopped
suddenly and pulled me off him. My confusion lasted only a few
seconds before I was turned onto my stomach by Elliot grabbing my
waist. I felt my breasts press against the duvet only momentarily
before Elliot pulled my behind up until it was perked up into the
air. I had a moment to breathe before he forced himself into me with
vigor and I yelped in shock. I was at breaking point before he ever
leaned around and touched my clit again while thrusting himself into
me all the while. I screamed to tell him that I was close and he let
go of me, but increased the pace of his thrusting so that I was
forcefully shoved forward with each one until my hands found the
headboard and I drove my nails into the leather.

Come on Clara!” He hissed in
exultation as we come spectacularly together. He slumped onto my back
for a moment. We lie back on the bed wasted, a mess of tangled,
sweaty limbs, until sleep found us. This time I went to sleep
confident that this will not be the last time I fall asleep next to
Elliot.

*****

I woke in the morning to the same ray of sun that woke me beforehand.
Like the last time I woke here, I was alone.

I stretched a hand across the cold side of the bed, instantly
saddened by his absence. I peeked through my lashes to glance at the
LED lit alarm clock by the bed, as I glanced I noticed a hole in the
wall over the bed that certainly wasn’t there last night. I
looked back to the clock. I jumped when I realize that I’ve
slept through the rest of the day and night. It was past midday. Why
didn’t Elliot wake me?

My question was about to be answered, I think, as the door to the
bedroom opened. Elliot walked in with a couple of newspapers in his
hands.

He noticed I was awake but didn't return my smile. I noted instantly
that he looked stressed and paler than usual. I mirrored his frown as
I sat up, gathering the sheet around me. Elliot walked over to me,
sat at the very edge of the bed and sighed.

He leaned down and kissed me on the forehead, slipping the newspapers
into my lap.

It took me three seconds to see the leading article on all three.

I didn't even see the words – all I saw were the images that
seemed to burst before my eyes.

Elliot unzipping my dress. Elliot pulling me on top of him,
breasts bouncing against his rock hard abs..

Us, last night – all over the New York news world.

This wasn’t what caught my attention, though it should. I
peered at the top right-hand corner of the inky front page, frowning.

What’s the date?” I asked
incredulously to Elliot.

He answered, clearly surprised as to why I am not taking this
perfectly seriously. I got up and dashed to the bathroom and begin to
count the days in my head. My heart was pounding like a drum as my
hand slipped to my stomach. Elliot followed me in.

What’s wrong, Clara?”

I’m late.” I whispered as he
looked to me. “My period is late.”

Chapter 6

Life as I once knew
it seemed to fade away after that moment and lead to the moment when
I was sitting at the clinic – confused and tired. Thankfully,
Elliot held my hand as we waited.

Five
weeks.” The doctor said, looking up at me with a smile.

Five
– that made perfect sense and no sense at all at the same time.

After
that, Elliot was
all business
.
He insisted that I give over his case to another trusted lawyer, as
being heavily pregnant with his child around the time of his court
appearance would not only damage his case but the stress was sure to
be bad for the baby and me.

I was immediately
anxious as to what a child may do to our relationship as we were only
new to the dating thing, and this added complication may not bode
well, though it was clear that I shouldn’t have worried. The
doctor left the room for a moment and Elliot turned to me, taking
both my hands in his.

I
will be here. Every step of the way, Clara. I want you to know that.”
I peered up to see his icy blue eyes imploring me to believe him. And
I did, I really did.

It seemed that the
fire, the arson, his family – they all slipped away and became
inconsequential. It was us now – Elliot, me and this child.

We left the hospital
hand in hand and Elliot told me he wants to take me somewhere, so
that I could know how serious he was about wanting this child. I was
cautious at first, but excited then.

Miles, his driver,
took us a few blocks from the hospital until we reached a suburban
area of the city which I had never ventured into before. It was a
secluded area and looked at odds with the backdrop of the city
skyscrapers. I was shaking, either from the cold or the shock and
Elliot rubbed my arms to warm me up.

His rueful smile was
enough to melt my heart.

We pulled up outside
a small cottage-like house with honeysuckle growing around the door
and a mildly overgrown garden. It looked so distinctly unlike
anywhere else in New York that I smiled widely. It looked like an
excerpt from a fairytale.

My
mother lives here.” Elliot said softly.

I looked around,
confused. I had never asked him about his relationship with his
mother, as I had assumed that it may be similar to his relationship
with his sister. Surely such a sibling squabble would be a conflict
of interest for the one remaining parent?

Miles opened my door
for me, and Elliot didn't let go of my hand as he slid out next to
me.

Tell
your mother I send my regards, Sir.” Miles told Elliot and
Elliot smiled graciously.

Walking up the small
garden path I realized that this is where Elliot grew up. He didn't
bother ringing the chiming doorbell, but walked straight in, pulling
me after him.

Mom?”
He called out.

The hallway is small
and quaint. Crocheted pictures of family slogans adorn the walls and
yellowing patchwork bunting follows the banister upstairs. Elliot
lead me to a room to our left and I found myself in a cozy family
sitting room. Pictures of Elliot, Ophelia and Henry litter the walls.
I laughed openly at a gap-toothed one of Elliot in preschool and he
had the good grace to blush.

El?”
A woman’s voice caught me off guard as a small lady walked
around the corner. She was tiny, surely less than five feet, with
aging blonde curls and icy blue eyes – undoubtedly Elliot’s
mother. Her skin was wrinkled with a few freckles dappled here and
there – I could tell that she was once a beautiful young woman.

Mom.”
Elliot strode forward and kissed her on the cheeks, grinning. She
blushed with happiness as he kissed her. Her eyes found me and popped
in surprise.

Elliot,
you never told me you were bringing guests.” She scolded,
softly laughing as Elliot beamed.
