“We did fly and we did make love,” said Nyal in a calming tone.

“What happened?  How did I get here?” she asked, not recognizing anything around her.  They appeared to be in a structure in the middle of a large garden.  None of the plants looked familiar to her.

“You collapsed again,” Ishme started.

He went on to tell her how Cassie had a vision at the event but it was too late to contact her and tell her of the coming danger,  but she was already gone.  How they had to return to the ship because their wings were about to erupt and they could not remain on Earth, waiting for Becky, with their wings in view.

They left out that Nestor decided to put them in stasis while they waited to see if she would be rescued.  They had become despondent with worry.

“…So Markus brought you here to be healed,” Ishme concluded.

“I’m not in pain anymore.  But why don’t I feel like I need months of therapy and mood-altering drugs?” she asked.

“You required soul healing,” said Nyal. “Queen Aditya healed your soul, allowing you to push the negative far enough away that you would not be held back by it.  The memories will not prey on you.  They have faded, so you can move on with your life.”

Becky leaned forward and picked up the sheet.  Wrapping it around herself, she turned to sit cross-legged, facing Ishme and Nyal.

“Is she okay - and the babies?  She shouldn’t risk herself like that!” she said, settling herself down.

“You can chastise her yourself.  The probe came back two days ago, and much has happened,” said Nyal.

“The probe is back?  What day is it?” she asked.

“We are on Far Star Station, but on Earth, it is December twenty-first,” said Ishme, putting a hand on her knee.

“I know I got home on Thanksgiving.  What happened since then?”

“As we told you, Markus waited in your home.  Earth is on the far side of the sun from where it was when we arrived.  He put you in stasis for the eleven days it took just to get to the Station, doing what healing he could on the way,” answered Ishme.

“Then he had to go right back because he promised Tammy he would be back for Christmas to be with her and the children,” Nyal added.

“Whoa!  Markus and Tammy - I know they were sitting together at dinner.

“What happened with Sarah and the guys?”  Becky asked.

“After you - left - Sarah volunteered to step in and take control of the HeVan’s Gate Project in Wisconsin,” answered Ishme.

“You don’t know this,” Ishme continued, “but she gave herself a false background.  Her father had died and her mother married an abuser.  Her stepfather killed her mother and then killed himself when she was in school one day.”

Becky immediately began to tear up.

“And there I was, thinking she had the perfect life and I had the tough one.  I was such an idiot!” she said, shaking her head from side to side.

She realized she felt hair hitting her face and shoulders.  She put her hands up and felt her head.

“What…?” she pulled it forward.  “How did my hair grow – like - six inches in what - six weeks?”

“Your healing was accelerated,” explained Nyal.

Ishme looked around him.  “Our wings came off while we slept; we need to run a suturing wand over our backs…”

“Are you in pain?” Becky asked, quickly leaning forward to look at their backs.  “Where’s that suturing thing?”

As she bent forward, her stomach grumbled loudly and they all laughed.  Nyal got up to get the suturing wand, as Ishme spoke.

“I think I need to feed you,” said Ishme.

“I am kind of hungry.  No, actually, I’m starving.”

Nyal healed Ishme’s back and then Ishme did the same for him.  Together, they presented their wings to Becky.

“These are for you to display in our home,” they said to her.

“This means were officially married, right?” asked Becky.

“Yes, we are now
Joined
.”

“Good.  Because I’m pretty sure that I’m pregnant.  I can’t wait to get started having a family of my own,” she said.

Getting down from the bed, she looked forward to sharing the rest of their lives together.  It was going to be a very good life.  She couldn’t wait to get started.

Recipe for HeVanly Stuffed Crescents

HeVanly Stuffed Crescents

(This should be used as a picnic by the fire with the person/persons of your choice.)

Ingredients

2 packages bake and serve crescent rolls

Fresh spinach (depends on how much you are making, I use 1 cup, chopped)

Bacon crumbles

1 or 2 boneless, skinless, chicken breasts

1 jar of your favorite Alfredo sauce

1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan and/or Romano cheese

Salt, pepper, dried basil (to taste)

Directions

1.  Preheat oven per the instructions on the crescent roll package, usually 350° F.

2.  Thoroughly rinse the spinach, dry, and then chop into small pieces.  You’ll need about a teaspoon of chopped spinach per crescent.

3.  It is best to cook the bacon earlier; one or two pieces are plenty.  It should be well cooked so it crumbles easily.  Or you can mince it with a sharp knife.

4.  Boil the chicken and then dice into one-inch cubes.  This can also be done ahead of time.

5.  Use a cookie sheet and if it isn’t non-stick, spray it with a non-stick spray in preparation.

6.  Combine diced chicken and Alfredo sauce in a bowl.  Only use enough sauce to lightly coat the chicken.  Add the bacon and chopped spinach and stir.  Add more sauce as needed to keep moist and clump ingredients together.

Add salt, pepper, and dried basil to taste - I usually add a teaspoon of each.

7.  Line up all your ingredients and open the package of crescent rolls.  Peel off the first piece of crescent-shaped dough and seal together two sides on the large end to form a small cup.

8.  Put a little shredded Mozzarella in the dough cup.

9.  Use a small spoon to scoop chicken mixture into the dough cup.

10.  Add a little more shredded Mozzarella and seal up remaining side; dough will stretch.

11.  Place on cookie sheet and sprinkle with grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.

12.  Once all the crescents are filled, place cookie sheet into oven and set timer for 12 minutes.  It will take from 12-14 minutes to bake to a golden brown.
