Chapter
21 – Sara

Pure bliss was how I would describe my mood. Finally being with Lucas was just wonderful. His caring and loving touches were all I wanted and all I could think about. My body was still tingling from last night and even though I was a little sore, it was still perfect.

“I know that face,” Rachel yelled out from her office as I
strolled in.

“Shut up, Rach,” I shouted back as I walked into my office.

“Someone got laid last night. Or was it this morning?” Rachel sang out while she leaned on her door frame.

“Rachel, leave her alone,” Betty jumped in
. “A lady doesn’t kiss and tell.”

“She does if she was with Lucas Sharp
.” That brought giggling from Charity as Rachel pushed on.

“Fine,” I huffed.
If I didn’t give her something she would not leave me alone.

“Yes, we did it. Yes, it was perfect. No, I am not giving you details
.” I stared at her and mustered my stern look at her.

“You never let me have any fun,” Rachel whine
d and walked back into her office.

The work day was flying by.
I had been so busy since I started this morning. I couldn’t remember being this busy in a long time. Charity kept piling on more work for me.

“Charity, what is going on today? Am I this far behind in everything
?” I asked when she brought in another file.

“No,” she simply stated, “you just needed to catch up a few things
.” She was looking all around the room and I knew instantly that she was hiding something.

Poor girl c
annot lie.

“What are you hiding?”

“Nothing.” Her dark shiny hair covered her face as she observed the ground.

“Yes
, you are. Spill it.” I used my “lawyer” voice on her.

“Well, I thought that if I got you caught up then you could take Friday off. You have been working hard lately and I knew Lucas was home
.” I could tell she was leaving something out, but that sweet girl was trying to give me some time off.

“Well, that is very sweet of you
.” I patted her hand.

It would be nice to sleep in and spend time with Lucas.

Between the two of us, we did catch up all the work. I made sure that Charity took Friday off also. She was worried about being paid, but I insisted that it would be fine. I was getting stuff packed up for the night when I finally noticed that my phone was flashing. I had missed a text.

Lucas:
wanna have dinner?

He sent it almost an hour ago.

Me:
I was busy, sorry. What time 4 dinner?

I was double checking to make sure I had everything when
my phone buzzed again.

Lucas:
no biggie. I understand. 7 okay?

Me:
Perfect.

“Well, I have not seen that smile in a very long time,” I heard Rachel say as she came into my office and sat down.

“Yeah, it has been awhile. Besides, what is up with you? You have been giddy lately and more snarky. Is there someone in your life, Ms. Sliver?” I had noticed lately that Rachel has been texting more with a grin on her face. She only did that when she liked someone.

She shrugged
. “I guess. You about to head out?”

“Yep, right now.
I am meeting Lucas for dinner.” I looked up and realized that Charity and Betty were in my office too. All three of them had solemn looks on their faces. “Okay,” I sang out, “what is up?”

Rachel got up, walked over to Charity
, and took a paper from her hand. Rachel took a deep breath before she handed it to me. I didn’t even realize that my hands were shaking until I reached for it. Even though I knew what it was before I looked at in, my stomach was still doing flip flops. I looked down and saw that it was a subpoena for Jake’s attempted murder trial.

“Charity, will you make sure that I have a clear schedule for this,” I tried to say in my most formal voice.
It didn’t work because I could hear my voice cracking and tears filled my eyes. Charity nodded.

“Hey, are you going to be
okay?” Rachel placed her hand on my shoulder.

I closed my eyes to keep the tears at bay.
“Of course, we knew this was coming.” I opened my eyes and looked down at the paperwork in my hands. It was then that I noticed the last page, an updated restraining order. It was good through the trial date. Jake had been out on bail and he had not been in contact with me at all. I had not even seen him since that night. I cleared my throat and tossed the paperwork on my desk.

“Well, you ladies have a good night,” I grabbed my stuff and rushed out the door
, not wanting to think about it anymore.

When I got home I let the tears come. I could
n’t help but let them fall. I still felt the pain, but continued not to talk about it. After what seemed like a river of tears had fallen from my eyes, I stopped myself from crying anymore. Tonight I would focus on Lucas and our night.

I quickly order
ed the food, rushing to get ready and prepare for the evening. I put on extra eye makeup to hide my puffiness from crying. Soon after that the food came; I paid for it and sat it in the oven to keep warm. I heard the knock on the door and the smile plastered itself to my face. I could not wait to see him. I raced to the door and opened it. “Hey, beautiful.” His husky voice was astounding and made me weak.

“Hey,” I breathed back to him as he walked in and shut the door.

Yep, I can’t breathe.

Lucas gathered me in his arms.
His body was hard to the touch and I wanted more of him. I wanted him now. As if he was reading my mind, he pushed me against the wall and lifted me up. My legs wrapped around him as if they had a mind of their own. He was already hard and I could feel him against me.

I squeezed my thighs tighter.
His sexual moan shot through me like a bullet. I dug my fingers through his soft hair as his tongue went deeper into my mouth. I felt his hand on my breast, gently pulling. When he pinched my nipple I began to rock my hips against him faster. He grew harder against me.

He removed his hand from my breast and placed i
t on my back. It was meant to steady me against him as we moved toward the couch. He gently laid me on the couch and broke our kiss to nibble at my neck as he made his down. His hand worked on the hem of my shirt as he pushed it up. I sat up so he could completely remove it, then unsnapped my bra. I grabbed his shirt and practically ripped it over his head and threw it down. Lucas began to work his teeth and tongue on my nipples. I ran my hand down his back and sides, trying to be careful and not tickle him. My hands found their way to his belt. He let out the sexiest groan as I undid his pants and zipper. With that throaty sound I began to stroke him. He was throbbing in my hand and I began to go faster.

“Sara,” he moaned.
He grabbed my jeans, unbuttoned them, and pulled them down with lighting speed. My body opened up when Lucas placed his fingers inside of me. I threw my head back, arched my back and wanted more of him. His fingers knew exactly what part of my body needed him the most and I began to pant louder. I thought I was going to explode but Lucas stopped. I almost let out a whine when he did. He got up, grabbed a condom from his pocket, rolled it on and shucked his jeans off.

He was the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. He truly had the greatest body.
I still couldn’t breathe as he settled back down on me. My legs spread wider to accommodate his length between my legs. The look in his eyes was filled with love and desire. It was so incredibly sexy.

He rocked into me
; I was pretty sure I was going to die from pure pleasure. Lucas cradled his head where my neck and shoulder met and I grabbed his back. He instantly tensed up.

I pulled back
. “Lucas.” I could barely breathe but I could tell he tensed in pain.

He stopped moving
and looked down at me. “Be easy on my back. I have to play tomorrow.” He kissed my lips before I could say anything and pushed himself further into me. I could almost feel my eyes roll back into my head.

I grabbed his shoulder as he sped up.
The room filled with the sounds of our panting and I wanted to touch him everywhere. As my orgasm built up again, all I could do was say his name over and over. I yelled out his name as we both exploded together. We didn’t move as we stared at each other, trying to catch our breath.

“I
’m guessing you missed me today,” Lucas was the first to speak. All I could do was laugh.

A real laugh.

Chapter 22 – Lucas

“I actually planned to have dinner first,” I heard Sara yell from the kitchen as she gathered the food. She was placing it on the table as I came from the bathroom to get the rest of my clothes. I had picked up my shirt and went to put it on as Sara gasped.

“Oh my gosh, did I do that to your back
?” I turned to see a shocked and hurt expression plastered on her face.

“Yes
, you did, and I paid hell for it in the locker room today from the guys,” I laughed at her.

“Oh, Lucas, I am so sorry. So very sorry
.” She looked like she was about to cry.

“Hey
, beautiful, they don’t hurt. Well, they don’t hurt a lot.” I had forgotten about them until we were on the couch and she went to dig into my back again.

“Hang on
.” She ran down the hall to the bathroom and came back holding a bottle, bandages and Q-tips.

“Sara,
its fine.” She pushed me back until I was sitting on the couch.

“Hush and turn around
.” I rolled my eyes and turned around. She began to clean the wounds. Once she was satisfied with bandaging me up, I turned back around.

“I am really sorry
, Lucas. I don’t know why I dug in so hard like that,” she said in a soft voice.

I shrugged. “I will consider it a war wound.”

“Ha! Ha!” she fake laughed as I stood up and put my shirt on. We walked hand in hand to the kitchen and ate. I was getting a little nervous about telling her my plan. I wondered if she would be upset that Charity helped me. She made small talk about being busy at work and that was when I saw an opening to execute my plan.

“Coach D let
us off for a three-day weekend. So, after Thursday’s game I am free until Monday morning.”

“Nice,” she exclaimed
. “Do you have plans?”

“Yep, I do
.” I stood up and headed over to my jacket.

Please let her say yes
,
I silently prayed.

I grabbed the e-ticket that I printed out and hand
ed it to her. She looked confused as she read it.

“Montreal? You want me to go to Canada with you?”

“Yep, I want you to meet my family.”

“Do what?” she shouted
, her eyes huge from shock.

“I know
.” I held my hands up in surrender. “I know that we have not been together long, but this is the only chance that I see for you to meet my family. Plus, you get to see where I grew and I would like to show it all to you.” I was almost begging for her to come with me. I had already told everyone about Sara and my mom was dying to meet her. My mom knew how long it had been since I had someone in my life that I cared this much about.

“Wait a minute; this ticket is for Friday morning, and what if I am busy?”

I laughed. “A little elf told me that she would make sure you were off.”

“Charity,” Sara hissed through her teeth and I laughed harder. Sara hung her head and was still staring at the ticket, “Lucas
, I am not sure.”

“Why?”
My heart was pounding. I really wanted her to go with me.

“Well, this is a big step and
I’m not even sure the status of our relationship.”

“What? Do you mean like if we are boyfriend and girlfriend?”
Did she really not know how much I loved her?

Wow where did that come from?

She shifted nervously in her chair. “Well, yeah. I mean are we just friends having fun or are we serious? I’m not sure.”

I tr
ied to hold back a smile as I reached for her hand. “Sara,” she looked up at me, “would you do me the fine honor of being my girlfriend
and
going home with me this weekend?” I was trying to sound as formal as possible without cracking up. The thought that she didn’t know what she meant to me was funny. She was so perfect in my eyes.

She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, “Sure, why not?” I saw the corners of her mouth twitch as she held back a smile.
I laughed at her. I laughed at my girlfriend.
