Of course that bitch couldn’t wait to fucking call Megan and make more than what she knew out of what she saw. More than what the fuck had really happened.

He stalked to the swing and sat next to Megan, grabbing her hand when she tried to stand. Pulling her onto his lap, he held her against him, hating how stiffly she held herself.

“Megan, baby, I ain’t too sure why the fuck you been goin’ off the fuckin’ chain the past two fuckin’ days, thinkin’ I’m interested in this bitch. This ain’t like you at all.” Of course he
did
know, but admitting that shit wouldn’t get him anywhere. Kendall had probably made what she saw as bad or worse than what his boy did. “Either you fuckin’ trust me or you fuckin’ don’t, baby. You can’t fuckin’
say
you trust me, then when bullshit like this come up, you fuckin’ lose your shit.” No response. He couldn’t fix the shit, if he didn’t know what Kendall told Megan.

Instead of demanding answers, he decided to try another tactic. “I got another fuckin’ call from that Torpedo-fuckhead, baby.” He kissed the top of her head and told her about the conversation. “I’m gonna have to re-evaluate how I’m handlin’ this shit. Motherfucker keep callin’ me. Ain’t respectin’ what the fuck I’m tellin’ him.”

“Kendall and I have been arguing a lot recently, Christopher,” Megan told him, not addressing anything about Counts. “She’s been making all kinds of crazy accusations, so when she called me a little while ago, I thought that was just another lie of hers. Then, she described Daphne. White-blonde hair, beautiful figure, gorgeous face, and I knew you were with her again. Daphne never seems to be around when Kendall is at the clubhouse.”

Meaning Kendall wouldn’t know what the fuck she looked like if Daphne hadn’t been with Christopher today. At the moment, the reason Megan and Johnnie’s bitch argued wasn’t even important. He wanted to know about this.

“She said Daphne
hugged
you. Put her arms around your waist. You pushed her away when you saw Kendall.”

“That bitch also tell you she tried to run my fuckin’ ass over? I jumped the fuck outta the way. Daphne was followin’ my fuckin’ ass and,
fuck
, Megan, what the fuck you want me to say? You know I ain’t cheatin’ on you.”

Silence, and then, “I know,” in a soft, hurt voice. She got to her feet and he didn’t try to hold her.

He’d stopped kicking Cash’s ass for this. Maybe, if he would’ve finished fucking the motherfucker up, he would’ve missed both Kendall and Daphne, and Megan would be well on her way to forgiving him.

He wouldn’t concentrate on any-fucking-thing today if she was so fucking angry and hurt. Two fucking days in a row Megan had gotten information about the same bitch. Why Daphne was suddenly every-fucking-where, Christopher couldn’t fucking imagine.

“Megan, baby, gimme some pussy.”

“I had intended to.”

“If you gotta do your lockout, let it be tonight. Just gimme some pussy
now
to hold me the fuck over. This evenin’, me and you can go ridin’, and I’ll keep my motherfuckin’ hands to myself and my cock in my pants.”

Encouraged that she hadn’t run off, he stood and went behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. He nosed her silky hair, resting his hand on her belly. She didn’t pull away, increasing his confidence. Still holding her, he backed to the swing and sat, tugging her down with him.

Her ass pushed into his swelling dick. He grunted, biting her neck, her tiny groan and loosening muscles satisfying him.

He shoved her short dress above her waist, all the blood in him racing to his cock when he discovered her pussy out.

“You dressed for me,” he whispered hoarsely, fingering her wet pussy.

“No,” she said, her breathing uneven as she started a slow grind against his fingers. “I had undressed for you. I put my clothes back on for me.”

He nipped at her neck. “You was waitin’ for me naked?”

She nodded.

“Face me, baby,” he demanded, half-afraid she’d get up instead. She turned to him, settling her feet on each side of him.

They stared at each other. It took her a moment, but she leaned forward and pressed her lips against his, cradling his face between her hands, forgiving him. That whatever momentary fucking doubt she had was gone.

Freeing his dick, he rubbed his cockhead against her clit.

“Christopher,” she breathed, his name on her lips one of the best fucking sounds in the word.

Christopher guided his cock to her pussy hole. “Fuck, yeah,” he grunted as she sank onto him.

She covered his mouth with hers again, working her cunt against his dick. Her hair fell around them, a golden curtain, lifted by the breeze that blew her scent to him.

The smell of fucking and
her
went straight to Christopher’s head. As much as he wanted to allow her to lead, he couldn’t fucking take it, so glad to be back in her pussy. Gripping her waist, he thrust up, his position, her widened thighs, allowing deep penetration.

“Come, Megan,” he said against her lips, knowing he’d blow his load very fucking soon. He hadn’t fucked her since yesterday morning.

Bouncing up and down on his cock, she trembled, releasing a soft cry. She tightened her pussy walls, knowing how to control him with her body.

Cum shot from him and into her before she collapsed against him and laid her head on his chest. Even when their breathing returned to normal and his cock had softened, they stayed joined. He didn’t want to move. She felt so fucking good. With her in his arms, all the bullshit washed away.

“The kids will be home soon,” she said finally.

The kids. Her words reminded him… “Where the fuck they at, baby?”

Lifting off his lap, Megan got to her feet and straightened her dress. “Bunny took them to the park, so we could have the house to ourselves for a couple of hours.”

Squaring his cock away, he stood. “Megan, baby, I’m so fuckin’ sorry I ruined this mornin’.”

“It’s okay, Christopher.” She offered a smile, then stood on tiptoe to kiss his chin. As usual, he bent to offer his lips instead. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” he returned, stopping her when she would’ve walked off. “Why this botherin’ you so much?” They were better than holding shit in, walking around all bent the fuck out of shape. They were fucking friends. “That bitch don’t mean shit to me. What the fuck the real problem, baby?”

“Why is she suddenly hanging around you, Christopher? Why is she in my face all the time?” She shifted from foot-to-foot. “I might be overreacting and I might not be. One small flicker starts a raging inferno. She’s that flicker that
you’re
allowing to get out of hand. If my reaction to her is different, it’s because yours is.”

With a last glance at him, she turned on her heel and walked away.

Fuck.
Maybe, his ass had gotten too used to Megan looking the other way when the club bitches were around him. Besides, she was right about how he handled the situation. He’d never allowed a motherfucker alive to threaten his relationship with his wife. A bitch would be out and an assfuck would be fucked up. Instead of taking his boys and leaving Daphne’s presence, he’d hung around the park and entertained her bullshit. Today, he hadn’t picked her up and thrown her the fuck off the property.

Was all this domesticity making him fucking soft? Having no physical threat to his family fucking muted his reaction. Not everything had to be answered with blowing a motherfucker away. But, fuck. He’d gone from killing on a dime to…
this
. He’d almost given Cash a pass, until Megan got involved.

Had Christopher become so comfortable with his girl’s acceptance that he’d gotten careless with her feelings?

Chapter Thirteen - Ophelia

“What are we doing in this neighborhood?”

Cash’s neighborhood to be specific. As Kendall directed Fee to the location of their meeting, the landmarks became quite familiar. The red, white, and blue flags of a car dealership. The spire of a church. A strip club. One of the many stop signs defaced with writing right near the intersection that led to the series of dips, turns, and unpaved streets.

Kendall pointed to a spot right in front of the bar and grill Fee knew well. “I told you I have a meeting.”

Once she parked, Fee got out of the Navigator and halted at the front bumper, waiting on Kendall.

“Chauffeurs open the doors for their passengers,” she grumped after stomping to Fee.

“Assistants don’t.”

“Assistants do whatever their bosses tell them to do.”

Oh my goodness, but Kendall had been at her most argumentative the past two days. Putting the divorce case behind them relieved Fee. She’d foreseen smooth sailing ahead. However, she preferred ten cases where spouses were at each other’s throats to another hour of Kendall’s disagreeability. “You’re right, but chauffeuring has never been in my duties. Why are we starting now?”

You
work for
me
. I don’t answer to you.”

Fee gritted her teeth, swallowing back her irritation. “I thought we were becoming friends. As your friend, I can question you.”

“You’re on the clock, Fee. Remember?”

Whatever. Instead of saying that and turning their bickering into a full blown argument, Fee nodded. “Yeah, sure.”

“Oh God, you’re so fucking sensitive. Even worse than Meggie. Of course you’re my friend. You’re my family and my assistant. I adore you. You’re smart and trustworthy. I’d trust you with my life. My
children’s
lives,” she added with meaning, touching Fee and further proving she’d made the right decision to stay silent, and act as Kendall’s support system. “I’d trust you with my deepest secrets. Otherwise you wouldn’t be here with me.”

Fee grabbed Kendall’s hand, squeezing with gratefulness. She’d lost contact with all of her friends after suffering so many losses in so short a time. Her mother’s death had devastated her. The abuse at Mike’s hands stole all her self-esteem. Once her sisters and nieces were murdered, she broke completely. Without Cash being there for her, she wasn’t sure where she would’ve been at this point.

She’d wanted Cash as her own. It was just recently…Saturday night…yesterday in the park…that she realized how much she liked
them
. They each had qualities she valued. Cash was chaos and strength. Stretch was peace and calm. She saw herself as the bridge between the two, the missing link they each needed.

In light of everything, pointing out her feelings wouldn’t appease her brother.

He already blamed himself for the decimation of their family. Without Meggie, Fee wasn’t sure what would’ve become of him. Neither she nor Zoann had been in any condition to offer him the type of support he’d needed to get through that darkness. They’d reassured him that it hadn’t been his fault. Val had helped Zoann through her heartache. Cash had stepped in for Fee, bringing in Stretch not long after.

Fee had been so into Cash, she hadn’t cared, until the second time and Cash and Stretch had sex. Before then, she hadn’t realized Cash was bi.
That
hadn’t bothered her. It was comprehending that she’d been competing for his affection with someone he had an established relationship with.

Now, Kendall was giving her the opportunity at friendship. It took more than approval to be a friend. It took trust. Without it, no relationship had any meaning, romantic or platonic.

“Did you have something to tell me?” Kendall snatched her hand out of Fee’s. “You’ve been staring at me like a moron for two minutes. I’m going to be late for my meeting.”

Fee giggled at Kendall’s abrasiveness, hugging her on impulse. “Thank you for being you. For taking me under your wing. Being my friend and trusting me.”

Returning the embrace, then stepping back, Kendall softened her look with a smile. “I mean every word.”

Fee considered Kendall, not ready to start off again. Being in Cash’s neighborhood, remembering all the times she’d spent in his bed, at his house, overwhelmed her. She needed to unburden herself to someone. Kendall might even offer advice. “You’d really trust me with your life and your secrets?”

“Of course. We’re friends. That’s what friends do. Trust each other.”

“Right.” Fee swallowed, nervous at exposing her affair. She hadn’t had the best track record in judging people. But Johnnie adored Kendall and, for all their arguing, Meggie also liked Kendall. “I need to tell you something,” she whispered, like a dumb ass. No one was near them. “You have to keep this under wraps, though.”

Kendall’s eyes lit up. “That juicy, huh?”

Fee nodded.

“Continue.”

“Your promise, Kendall.”

Raising her right hand, she made the sign of the cross over her heart. “My lips are sealed.”

Fee drew in a deep breath, hoping she made the right choice and ignoring the little warning voice that told her to proceed with caution. Kendall was more than her boss. She was family, who was showing herself as Fee’s friend. “I’m having a secret affair with Cash and Stretch. Christopher has forbidden it. I think I’m in love with both of them and I don’t want to end our affair.”

Kendall’s brown eyes widened and her mouth fell open. A moment of silence stretched into a minute. The long consideration sent Fee’s unease skyrocketing.

“Well,” Kendall muttered. “Well. Wow. I…Forget your brother. Cash and Stretch would kill each other if they found out you’re sleeping with both of them.”

Oh, so that was the reason for Kendall’s silence. Embarrassment swept through Fee and she shifted her weight. “Um…”

“Oh! Dear me. They know…” Voice trailing off, Kendall stared at Fee, before her hands flew to her mouth and she gasped. “You’re sleeping with them at the same time?”

Fee cringed at Kendall’s shock and disapproval. She reminded herself she’d face this from everyone. If Cash saw her response, he’d feel justified in keeping her at arm’s length. If Christopher saw it, he’d use that as further excuse to forbid her away from them.

Her reaction would give the world license to point fingers and call her a freak. Being in a “normal” relationship certainly hadn’t worked in her favor.

“You
are
sleeping with both of them!”

Lifting her chin and staring Kendall in the eye, Fee nodded. “Yes, we’re in a triad.”

“Oh my God! Outlaw will kill them and lock you away. Are you out of your mind?”

“I love them.” The conviction with which she said those words amazed her. Without a doubt, she knew they were true. Despite still feeling threatened by Stretch, she couldn’t imagine having to make a choice between him or Cash.

“How do you know you love them? What do you all do together? You can’t spend a lot of time together if you have to keep this a secret.”

Kendall’s words dampened Fee’s newfound certainty.

What
did
they do? They had sex. Lots and lots of sex. She and Stretch ceded to Cash’s demands. He was the alpha in the relationship. The two of them also competed with each other for Cash’s attention. They drank and watched television. Every now and then, they went to the bar that Kendall seemed to be headed to. Still, she couldn’t see them not in her future. They could make it work, if they put forth the effort.

“We’re all friends,” she said finally. “We find things to do.”

“And you love both of them?”

Another bout of defensiveness assailed Fee. “You can love two people at the same time.”

“I’m well aware of that. Some of us will always carry a torch for their first love.” Bitterness tinged her tone. “Others have feelings for fucking barbaric jerks that don’t deserve the time of day, so, yes, I believe you can love two people at once.”

All of Kendall’s words sounded quite personal, as if she had firsthand knowledge. She rubbed her temples, then paused. “Wait. Does Meggie know?”

“No.”

The gleam entering Kendall’s eyes removed the pall that had fallen over her. “Really?”

“I considered telling her, but I didn’t want to put her in the position of having to keep this from Christopher.”

“You’re so right, hon. She’d run to him and then he’d kill them. Of course, whatever he does, she forgives. That makes her a horrible fucking friend.”

“Oh no, Kendall! Don’t say that. I appreciate your loyalty to me in this matter, but Meggie’s great.”

“Of course she is. She’s a little doll.”

Ignoring Kendall’s sarcasm, Fee turned the conversation back to her relationship. “Until we find a way to convince Christopher to accept us, me, Cash, and Stretch will continue to meet in secret.” She wouldn’t add that Cash was happy with their current state of affairs.

Kendall started walking again, forcing Fee to follow behind. “Well, be prepared to have a clandestine affair for the rest of your fucking lives. Outlaw will never accept such a situation for you.”

“He has to,” she insisted as they reached the entrance to the establishment. “Eventually.”

She was over twenty-one. Who she ended up with was
her
business, not his. She only needed the courage to say that to his face.

“We’ll continue this conversation later.”

Opening the door, Kendall left Fee no choice in the matter. The place hadn’t been opened for the day very long, and the lunch patrons hadn’t started arriving yet, so the atmosphere was quiet, unlike the rowdiness of the night crowd.

“Table for two?” a hostess Fee didn’t recognize asked.

Kendall craned her neck and smiled. “No. I see who I’ve come to meet.”

A group of men with notepads in front of them and pens in hand sat at one table. Their meeting was already underway, and Kendall was a stickler for time. The only other occupied table had a lone man, with a scruffy beard, who wore sunglasses.

“There he is.” Kendall pointed to him. “Counts!”

“What kind of name is Counts?” Fee asked, not expecting or receiving a response as they hurried to the table.

“Good morning,” Kendall greeted, ignoring the near noon hour.

“Who’s she?” Counts’s low tone disguised his true voice.

Fee rolled her eyes at all the secretive behavior. Not waiting for an invitation to sit, she pulled out a chair and dropped into it. Kendall threw her an irritated glance, but took the other seat and hung her purse from the chair. A gift sat in the fourth chair.

Shit! Had she forgotten Kendall’s birthday?

“This is my cousin,” Kendall explained with a happy smile. “Fee, this is a friend of mine.” Before either of them responded, she picked up the menu. “Let’s order a light lunch.”

“I’ve already eaten,” Counts said in that same ridiculous tone.

“Well, I haven’t,” Kendall announced, and summoned the waitress.

“Neither have I,” Fee said with a sniff, turning her attention to the menu and placing an order soon after.

“How’s everything going?” Kendall’s question broke through the tension.
