Rey left the window and he heard the door open as he entered the cabin. Edon was sure it was the first time he’d ever been in there. Since it had been built he’d outright ignored it.
“What is happening?” Cass whispered.
“We choose you,” Edon replied. “We want you to be our mate.”
With that he pulled out and moved her on to her side before slipping back into her again, feeling intense pleasure at the heat of her body.
Rey entered the room and looked down at them, his fingers hooked into claws.
The world paused and the moment trembled.
“Come to bed,” Cass whispered.
*
Only once before had Cass been in a bedroom with two men and that had turned out to be a disaster. A stupid college night of bravery meeting alcohol and before anything could happen she panicked and fled. Later, she was glad she’d run out on them, although it was still a few years before she realized the fantasy of two men was not about
men
at all.
After learning of Eos and Trammell from Nia, Cass had put their unusual arrangement out of her mind. She could barely handle one Alpha, let alone two.
Then Rey had appeared in the doorway and some insanity had taken hold of her and spoken though her lips.
Come to bed the insanity had said.
Rey moved toward them, his eyes blazing and Cass stopped breathing entirely.
“You have to relax,” Edon whispered in her ear.
Easy for him to say. He’d just come in her and was in fact still inside her and had her body between him and Rey. Rey would have to get through Cass to get to him.
Rey moved up on to the bed, leaned forward and sniffed her neck and then scraped it with his teeth.
Cass felt herself pulled under the water.
As she’d seen them from the window this morning, they moved in unspoken agreement. Rey kissed his way down her neck until he reached her breasts. As he did, Edon began moving inside her, gently thrusting back and forth.
Rey lay down beside her, his hands on her waist, a nipple in his mouth and Cass breathed in the scent of the two Alphas.
Everywhere they touched her seemed to connect a line of fire. Edon’s hand on her hip, Rey’s fingers on her breast. Edon’s lips on her neck, Rey’s on her throat.
Edon and Rey moved together and Cass found herself pressed between them. Without effort they moved and soon she was on her back, Edon moving in and out of her, Rey atop her.
“You are our mate,” Rey said, reaching his hand around the back on her neck and grasping her hair.
Cass didn’t answer but moved her body instead.
Then, Edon slipped out and without a pause, Rey pushed in, filling her with his enormous girth.
There was no break in rhythm, just a continuance of intense pleasure. Edon beneath, Rey on top and her between them. It was like yesterday morning, trapped between them except now naked and horizontal. She could feel Edon’s cock resting in the curves of her ass, a hard thick line.
Edon bit her neck as Rey sped up and Cass felt the building heat between her legs flow out from her core. She groaned, biting her lip and looking up into Rey’s eyes. It was too much for him and he bared his teeth as he came inside her.
He remained there until he and Edon moved together again and she found herself laying on her side, Rey behind her and Edon in front.
A burst of anxiety took off inside her as she looked into Edon’s hazel eyes but he kissed her and then nuzzled her neck. At the same time, Rey kissed the back of her neck and then pressed himself up against her, the heat of his body a sublime comfort.
The two Alphas continued to kiss her before they finally slowed and lapsed into sleep. Cass felt tiny between them, their bodies like the rock walls of a castle, protecting her
“We choose you,” Edon whispered, his eye closed and voice drowsy.
We.
Cass felt the heat of their bodies, the exhaustion of lovemaking, the warmth of the day pulling her under toward sleep but her mind was still spinning.
She’d known one girl at college who’d had two boyfriends. They lived in a big creepy house together, she made them dress alike and they all sunk down into Goth weirdness. She’d sit out near the library and make out with one and then the other. It had been gross and everyone had been relieved when they flunked out and vanished.
That girl had had those two pasty boys on a short leash. Looking at Edon in front of her and feeling the size of Rey behind her, she doubted she’d be able to control either of them one bit. And dare to mention a leash…
They hadn’t killed each other so that was bonus. But she hadn’t answered when Edon said they’d chosen her. Lost in pleasure but unsure of what to say she’d let her body speak for her.
It had said
yes
.
It had been a yes a long time coming. A deep dark secret desire Cass never breathed a word of to anyone. One it had taken her ten years to work up the nerve to even admit to herself she wanted.
And now… now it was here. It had happened and she was pressed between two sleeping werewolf Alphas.
The terror of getting precisely what you wanted rose in her and she tensed. Then Rey moved his hand on her back and Edon shuffled and between one moment and the next, the fear disappeared.
Nia had told her Eos and Trammell had broken apart when their mate had favored one over the other.
As she lay between the two Alphas, Cass swore to herself she would never do that. She’d chosen this path and no matter what, she would make it work.
It had to.

Kira Temple final chat transcript, March 2006, before her disappearance.
Cass swam in a sea of dreams. Werewolves and cool green forest, bathing in warm water and eating hot roasted meat sprinkled with salt. A touch, stroking down her thigh. Past, present, future, the real and imagined blurred together.
In the past week since she’d come to the den, every time she slept, she dreamed.
In all the dreams, wrapped around them, appearing from nowhere, were the Alphas. Sometimes pulling her into bed. Sometimes running through the trees. Sometimes she was a nymph riding on a wolf in the twilight. Sometimes she was a teenager taking a different path.
There were times when sleep was full of spikes, the dangerous past hauled up and still found to be sharp and deadly and she would wake, gulping air, until Edon or Rey would move and she would feel their touch and the terror would vanish.
Sleep came easy under their ministrations. Panting and still trembling, she’d collapse and one or both would curl up around her. Rey had a habit of biting her neck if she talked after mating, the touch of his teeth dragging her under. Edon would smile and pull her close and in his embrace she’d slip into sleep.
But rest did not come easy.
The werewolves were insatiable, wanting her day and night and that was a delicious problem to have. Although they were nocturnal, since the attack half the pack was up during the day and the other half during the night. Both Edon and Rey seemed to be awake at all hours. Although the cabin with its soft bed and hot water sat close by, Cass slept in the den at night, protected by the werewolf pack.
Cass tried to sleep during the day but it was near impossible. There were birds, actual songbirds, twittering away outside her window! And even with thick pelts trying to keep the room dark, light found its way in.
Then, just when it felt like she’d gotten to sleep she’d awake, an Alpha sliding into bed beside her, pulling her from sleep with the touch of his fingers, the sharpness of his teeth, the insistent hardness between his legs. She couldn’t resist, her body responding instantly and the warm haze of sleep would turn into crazed heat as one or both of the Alphas drove her wild.
Sometimes she awoke to both of them sleeping with her. Sometimes she was alone, Nia shaking her awake to bring her food, to take her to the spring to bathe.
Cass felt she was in a sordid sleep deprivation experiment. Never adjusting to a proper sleep cycle. No idea what time it was. No set meal times and only the rising and setting of the sun to mark the days passing. Just the Alphas, in her dreams and her days, their touch a call and an anchor.
She woke up at the light fingers on her thigh. She blinked through heavy eyelids, the blur before her resolving into Edon, asleep. As she watched him she felt the touch trail up her body, dipping over her curves. Although it seemed no time at all since she’d been last pinned under a strong werewolf, she moved, pressing herself back and feeling the hard length behind her.
Rey, Rey, Rey.
She felt the touch pause and then start again, Rey’s finger tracing up between her shoulder-blades.
Rey pushed himself closer to her and she felt her body respond. She often slept naked, Rey insisting she did and then pulling clothes off her if she didn’t. Although he was utterly domineering and scared her on some levels, there was a joy and excitement in disobedience. He would find her dressed and then silently strip her down, even as she struggled against him.
As she moved she saw Edon open his eyes, a slit, and the first touch of a smile on his lips.
Edon, Edon, Edon.
The two Alphas were so different in some ways but so alike in others. Edon was civilized but with a wildness simmering below it. Rey was wild all the way through. The wild one desired her and took what he wanted. The civilized one held back and then broke free. Both were good for the ego.
Cass was surprised in herself to find she wanted both of them equally. On the surface of it Edon was civilized but wild, dangerous but in control whereas Rey was simply dangerous. It seemed Edon would be the better choice but her body had decided: both, please.
Although Edon hadn’t been civilized much since she’d arrived. Between the attack and sliding into her bed at all hours, they hadn’t spoken about, well, anything. Cass was used to the silence of tension in relationships. Her parents had been masters of it. Huge screaming fight at night and the next morning eating breakfast as though nothing had happened. She’d come down from her room once to find her father sitting there with a blood-soaked bandage around his head from where her mother had smashed him with a whiskey bottle. They’d all pretended nothing was wrong as he sat there quietly seeping.
So a week without discussing status, what
is
this, what does this mean - it was nothing. Cass could do it with her eyes closed. Even the impending fertile time some two to three weeks in the future was pushed out of her mind.
Cass smiled as Edon moved forward and touched his nose to hers. Behind her, Rey ceased his lazy finger circles and began to track his hand down her back, heading for her hip. She was already tilting her hips back, ready for him to slide into her. There was no pattern in their mating but small scenarios had started to appear. Rey would take her from behind, holding her hips while Edon bit her neck and sucked on her nipples. Then, as soon as he came, they’d swap with no pause and she’d find herself being held by Rey while Edon sank into her.
It was, simply put, bliss.
She felt Rey move close, the tip of his cock touching her sex and then a voice called out from behind the room pelt.
“Alphas! You’re needed!”
Kita.
Rey growled behind her but leapt out of bed anyway, shifting as he went. Edon touched his hand to her neck and followed, pulling half the blanket off her. Within a moment Cass was alone, left with an aching between her legs and a trill of fear running through her.
Another attack?
*
Rey had become addicted to the human’s soft flesh and even though he considered it very un-Alpha to be controlled by any desire, he’d found himself unable to resist.
In the week since they’d brought her to the den, she’d changed his preferences.
Instead of the hard muscles of werewolf females he now preferred soft curves. There was a time he enjoyed watching the werewolves walking about in human form, savoring the firm lines of their bodies, the sleekness of them but now they were moving scenery. He’d no more interest in them than he had in trees.
Now he dreamed of soft flesh. Of hips and heavy breasts and curves in the skin. He saw her lips when he closed his eyes and her scent seemed to cling to him, possessing his mind. Rey had even taken himself out to his favorite spot in the mountains but there was no escape. The howling sound of the wind itself seemed to be a moan escaping from parted lips. That she was as insatiable as him appealed to his wild nature and her alternating defiance and submission to his commands seemed to be like a rope wrapping around them, pulling them closer together until there would be no escape.
When Kita called out to them, Rey felt a surge of anger run through him. If it was invaders, they wouldn’t live long to regret entering his territory. If it was a false alarm, punishment would be meted out.
