“Thank you,” he exhaled as he slipped the ring on her finger. “The big stone came from my mother’s ring and the little stones came from my Yaya’s. I looked in a few stores, but in the end I decided that I wanted a ring that was as special as the woman who was going to wear it.”

“It’s perfect.” She kissed him again before she stood up. “Let’s get out of here and into a hotel room. I want to show you how good I look wearing just this ring.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah.” She took his hand and led him out of the office. “I missed you this week. I think we’ve got some serious making up to do. I don’t think you’re going to be able to walk tomorrow. If you can, I’ve done something seriously wrong.”

“Good God, I love you, Maggie.” He grinned at her.

“You’d better, because I love you too.”
