My Hustler’s Keeper

-4-

SINCERE

Damn, I have to get out of this mess. I could have easily been the man on my own. Instead of making another nigga feel as if he’s the man. Damn, see what falling in love with pussy and being loyal to niggas will do to you,
I thought to myself.

“Baby, you ready?” Harmony asks, taking me from my thoughts.

“Remember the first night I met you?” I found myself asking.

She laughs.

“Yeah, I remember. Why?”

“You really were going to kill me?”

“Nah, I liked your style. Plus, the thought of me fucking you had a bitch going crazy on the inside. I couldn’t let a nigga like you go to waste,” she admits to me.

“So my style is what saved me?”

“Pretty much,” she says, getting dress for our playing God.

“So what saved Daniel?”

“His loyalty towards you. Now can we wrap this conversation up and go? I do have to work in a few hours.”

“Yeah, let’s get this over with ‘cause I’m getting tired of this shit.”

“You ain’t the only one baby.”

“I know. Don’t worry ma. I’ma get us all out this real soon.”

“Getting out means death. And you know that.”

“Don’t stress the little shit. I got this.”

** ** **

Sitting inside of Joe’s rented Toyota Camry, the three of us wait for Terry—

A local wannabe drug dealer, that’s a half million in the hole but has the nerve to be inside the strip club.

“What the hell is taking him so long? Get your fucking dick suck and bounce. I could have gone in there and killed him myself. We’ve been waiting on this nigga for the past three hours,” Harmony angrily states while looking at the time on her watch. “I’m getting sleepy. And I have to be at work in awhile.”

“Well, wake up ‘cause it’s show time. Ma, go give that nigga that sexy walk of yours. Bait him, and D and I will take care of the rest.”

“Fuck a sexy walk. I’ma put a bullet in his ass first for making me wait so long,” she expresses with anger before exiting the Toyota.

“Get ready D, ‘cause when she put her hands on his shoulder it’s over from there. I need her in and out.”

“I hear you.”

“Yeah, well I need you to understand as well,” I tell him, before looking at Harmony handle this nigga as if she is a ho on the stroll.

My heart breaks as I watch her put herself in danger. Although I knew she could take care of herself, still, it hurts me to put her in situations that could get her killed. Shit like this only makes me want to get us out of Joe’s hell cage even faster.

I watch as she swings her deadly hips from side to side, pulling Terry into her body party trap. I smile as she corners him with her hips. She then steps to the side and places her hands on his shoulder, which is the signal for us to come and take over.

“Let’s go playa’,” Daniel says, stepping out the car.

“Move in slow on this nigga. I don’t want him to hurt my baby,” I tell him before stepping out as well.

“I got this.”

“Yeah, you better.”  I watch as Daniel goes towards the left side of the car. I move in on the right.

From the look on Harmony’s face I can tell she is growing tired of Terry feeling her up with his eyes. Shit, I am too.

Moving closer to my prey, I smile as I think about how much this nigga is slipping over some pussy he wasn’t gon’ never get a chance to fuck, or better yet even smell.

“What up Terry?” I ask him, placing my Glock towards his face.

“Bout fucking time.” Harmony says, in an angry tone while moving out the way.

“I was about to send him to those gates myself. This kid has too much mouth on him, but not enough action.” She places her hands on his shoulders, and then kicks him in the balls, causing his body to drop.

“That’s for trying to grab my breast. Now where the fuck is my money?” she yells.

“C’mon, Sincere, it don’t have to be this way. Please don’t kill me. I told Joe I got him next week,” Terry begs while holding his ball sack.

“Nigga, you’re in here tricking off so I know you got the money.” I position my Glock closer towards his face.

“Next week Sincere. I promise I’ll have every dime.”

“Let’s take a drive around and I’ll think about whether I should kill you now or actually wait until next week.” I smirk while opening his car trunk and shoving him inside.

“Daniel, drive this nigga to the cemetery and have Frankie take care of him. Tell him Joe said make him disappear and he’ll come around later to pay him for his work,” I gave the orders to Daniel.

“Ma, come take a ride with me.”

“Baby, I have to be at work. I’m sorry but you have to kill him now,” she explains to me.

“Damn, I wanted to make this nigga suffer. I’m out of a lot of money for waiting on this nigga,” I say, opening the trunk back up.

“You know, it’s always a new one that you can make suffer.”

“Nah ma, after this we’re done. Hopefully in the beginning of next year, there ain’t going to be a next one.” I tell her.

I watch as Terry’s eyes grow wide in fear and sweat beads runs down his face.

“Trust me Terry, Heaven sounds a lot better than living in the cutthroat world any day,” I tell him, as I shoot three into his dome. One for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in which he will son be meeting.

“So you need me to drop you off at work?” I ask Harmony, as we begin to walk back towards the car.

“Nah, I’ll catch a cab. And besides, Joe wants to see you.”

“How you know that?”

“Henry just texted me.”

“A’ight, I’ll go check that nigga out now.”

“Okay, love you. I’ll see you when I get off. Don’t forget to tip the owner and get the tape,” she yells, as she runs to flag down a taxi.

“I love you. Better yet, you can pick me up. I get off at ten,” she continues to yell out before closing the cab door.

“Love you more,” I yell out, hoping she heard it.

I watch as the taxi pulls off and drives down the street.

“You’re ready to go see the big bad wolf?” Daniel asks, breaking my sight from Harmony and the taxi.

“Shit, this nigga isn’t that bad seeing that we’re the ones taking all of his fucking enemies out. The streets fear us, not his ass.”

“True shit, we might as well off this nigga and take over.”

“Reading my mind, my nigga. But fuck taking over. I’ma off his ass and live happily ever after with his daughter.”

“C’mon, Sincere, you’re still on the getting out shit? We can cut Joe out the picture completely and give Juno and Frankie a li’l extra and keep the dice rolling.”

“D, Juno and Frankie are more cutthroat than Joe. Damn, I thought you did your homework. You’re all about taking over but don’t know whose toes you will be crushing if you do so. And I’m not about to betray Tone and his family, especially knowing my dad and him used to run the streets together.”

“C’mon, Sincere, this is easy money. I know you love it. Fuck Tone. We can kill him too.”

“Easy money is that death money. And I’m not going against Tone. And if I was you, I wouldn’t go against him either.”

“Nigga, stop riding his nut sack.”

I laugh.

“A hard head makes a soft ass. Go ask Juno is he eating well since he betrayed Tone. He might tell you yeah. He might even say he’s getting better. But I know the truth. You wanna survive in this game? Don’t plot to kill the top dog,” I advise.

Daniel laughs.

“Tone just met his match. I’ma be the next top dog. And if his sons want war, I will bring it to them. From what I heard he went from four to having only two left. I can easily get rid of them and take over.”

“Go get the tape. I’ll wait for you. Keep thinking that way and you’ll be dead.”

“It’s either get rich or die trying,” he says, before going into the club.

Daniel knows the game. He knows Tone is like a father to me and I’ll never turn on him. Now if he is down with killing Joe then I’m riding until the cops come shooting. But turning on Tone, I won’t do.

I knew than I’d have to break my loyalty to Daniel hardheaded ass and fast, before his let his words turn into actions. Because if we weren’t on the same page, then he was never really loyal to me, the same way I am loyal to him.

** ** **

I watch as Mary’s brother Malik’s eyes pierce me, with murder written in them. I continue to stare as she hands Joe a folder and then shuffles off to stand next to me. Waiting on Joe to speak, Henry, Daniel and I look at each other with confusion wondering what the hell is going on.

Joe moves slowly in circles around us, taking his time and looking each of us in our eyes.

He stops at me then smiles as if he has just hit jackpot at a casino game. I watch as he places his hands inside his pocket, never taking his eyes off me. Malik creeps his way behind me and right then and there I knew these niggas were on some snake shit. I was preparing to lay the both of them if I had to.

“Sincere, Sincere, Sincere,” Joe repeats my name as if I am fucking him.

“What’s up?”

“Why? Why, Sincere? Why would you do it? Why out of all this time would you turn on me? Henry and Daniel, go wait for him outside.”

“What the hell are you talking about?” I ask, looking him dead in the eyes.

“I thought I made it clear that my daughter is off limits.”

“Man, Joe, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I lied.

Yeah, that nigga told me that, but my heart told me another thing. And I wasn’t going to disappoint my heart.

“So, you’re calling my private investigator a liar?” he spat.

“Man, all I’m saying is whoever you got following me, is lying to save their own ass. C’mon, this is business. Why would I mess up what I got going on for a girl I consider my sister?” I play the game with him.

“So you’re calling me a liar?” Malik jumps in and yells.

“If the shoe fits.” I stood clam.

“I’ll blow your brains out.” He takes out his .22 and then points his gun to my face.

My body language start to speak, and it isn’t talking nicely. I am ready to send this nigga to those gates. But protecting Harmony and getting her out safe starts to enter my mind. The angels above touch Malik, as today he will live.

“I’m warning you. Yo’ ass got about 0.2 seconds to get that shit up out my face before I show you how to make a nigga body twerk.” My voice is calm but my body language spoke another.

I stared him down, letting him know if he wants war, then I am going to bring it to him.

“And if I don’t? Nigga, you’re fucking my sister’s soon-to-be wife. And when I get more proof on it I’ma kill you myself,” he continues.

I can’t help but laugh. This nigga is funny. I don’t play about my life so I try to take him serious. But the way his body is shaking as he holds the gun has me laughing. Yeah, I am fucking her; I don’t give a fuck what lies Joe tells Mary. That sweet pussy Harmony has between her thighs is mine. After a while the joking goes out the window. It is now time to get back on business.

“You’re threatening me? I don’t give a fuck what proof you get. Don’t come for me unless I send for you. And when I send for you, trust me, you’ll know ‘cause I’m coming personally, and I’m coming to kill.” My voice rises.

I am letting his nigga know whatever he thinks is going to happen, isn’t. I am killing all thoughts as I stand in his face and watch as his bad boy style turn into the wimpy kid.

“That’s enough!” Joe yells.

“Sincere, you’re dismissed. Go finish handling
my
business. Malik, can I see you in my office now?” he rattles on.

“But boss, he started it,” Malik says, acting like the kid that he is.

“What? Get the fuck in my office!” Joe yells out.

“Sincere, I’ll see you later on this week for the updates.”

“A’ight, I hear you,” I reply back, going towards the door.

“And Sincere.”

“Yeah?” I turn around.

“If the rumors are true about you fucking my daughter, you can kiss your chances of getting out this game goodbye. Remember I own you and the rest of these niggas. Don’t get this shit twisted. Now get the fuck out my face and go make my money.” He laughs then starts to walk out the sanctuary of the church.

“Yeah right, nigga. I’m getting out by the end of this year. And if you or anybody for that matter tries to stop me, that’ll be the day you sign your life over to me. You don’t get this shit twisted. You know who the fuck I am. You know whom the fuck I breed from. I’m only in this shit ‘cause I’m loyal. Don’t pump fake cause I will clap back!” I yell out loud, knowing he can hear every word I say before going out to the parking lot and joining Daniel and Henry.

“We have to finish this with this nigga before I have your father’s brains served to my dogs Rocko and Rita for dinner,” I tell Henry upon getting into his Beemer.
