We make it outside for gym just as the coach comes out. “Welcome back to school everybody,” he says. “Girls and boys, you’ll be running track today. Maggie, you joining the track team again? We really need you,” he says to her.  Damn, does she ever look hot in those tiny shorts? I’ll be sporting wood all class just looking at her in those.

“Of course I’ll be joining, Mr. Wards.”
She smiles at him. She has a beautiful smile. Shit… she could bring a man to his knees with her smile!!... I have a feeling this girl just might be my down fall

By the time gym is over
, we are all sweaty and ready for showers. “Coach is working us hard today,” Jake says, wiping his face.

“When hasn’t he?”
Adam chimes in.

I have to admit that the first day of
school was pretty awesome. Adam catches up with me after classes. “Hey, Jase, why don’t you follow me? We’ll head to my place, play some ball,” he says.

“Yeah, sure.  I need to drive my sister’s home first,” I say.

April comes
out and heads over to me. “Jase, I’m walking home with Tina so I don’t need a ride,” she tells me and walks away. Well, aright, but that still leaves Heather.

As if reading my mind, Adam says,
“Dude, your other sister is heading out with MY sister so no need to worry about her, either.”

Damn, first day and they’re both ditching me,” I laugh.

“I’ll
ride with Jase in case we end up losing you,” Jake tells Adam.

“You know that I don’t drive like Maggie so he won’t lose me. Don’t give me that face! Jase, she’s a good driver, but speeds a lot,” Adam says.

We all jump into our trucks
and head out to Adam’s place. Wow, it’s huge! There are three barns, cows, horses, and bulls.  Holy shit, their house is four times the size of ours! Maggie and Heather both come walking out of the house in jeans. “Are you taking her out riding, Maggie?” Adam asks.

“Yes, sir, I am,” she
says with a huge smile.

“Have fun, girls.
” He looks at us. “You three ready to go play some football?” Adam asks.

Before we
can answer, some other guys come out. I’m thinking it’s his brothers and dad.
“Hey, boys, mind if we join in on the game?” one of them says.

Adam looks at us
, then them. “The more the merrier. Come on,” he says and we all head out to one of the fields.

“Okay, we gotta pick teams,” Adam says.

“Creed and I will be captains. Okay with everybody?” his dad says.
We all nod in agreement. Creed picks Jade, Pete, and myself; Mr. Summers picks Adam, Jake, and a farmhand name Cole.

As we get
half-way through our game, Mrs. Summers comes walking over to where we are. “Jade, can you please go get Maggie? I need her help. I think she and Heather are on the four-wheelers in the south pasture.” Wow, I’m shocked. I didn’t think Maggie was the kind of girl who liked to get dirty. Plus, I KNOW that Heather doesn’t like to get dirty so the fact that she’s on a four-wheeler?  I’d love to see that.

“Yeah, sure mom,
” he says, walking over and kissing her cheek

“Take a break, boys.  There are drinks and snac
ks on the front porch,” she tells us.

Adam comes up to me. “I wonder how my sister talked yours into going out on the four-wheelers,” he says.

I look over at him
. “I have no clue, but I do know that Heather hates getting dirty.”

“Well, she keeps hanging out with baby girl and she’ll have no choice but to get dirty,” their dad says, smiling.

“I didn’t think that Maggie was that type of girl, either,” I say.

Adam and Creed laugh
. “She always does stuff like that. She also helps with chores around the farm.  Maggie has never cared about getting dirty.” She is defiantly a one-of-a-kind girl
.
After we grab a drink, the girls come around the corner of one of the barns. Talk about dirty, Maggie is covered in mud.

“Out on the four-wheelers, baby girl?” Adam asks. Heather didn’t get that dirty. Damn, even dirty, Maggie is gorgeous.

“Yes, we were, Adam,” she says, looking over at me and smiling. I love her smile. It makes her whole face light up. As soon as the girls are in the house Adam turns back to me and see the way I’m staring at his sister… oh shit!! Here comes the warnings to stay the hell away from her!

“Maggie hates everything we stand for, she isn’t the type of girl you can just sleep with. Besides I don’t want that for my sister… so dude if you can’t give her more than one night…..” he tells me trailing off.

Could I ever be someone that deserves Maggie? Shit I don’t know… am I ready to stop sleeping around? Fuck no!!

“You have nothing to worry about, I won’t hurt your sister or even try sleeping with her”

He nods his thanks, a while later we all head in side and Mrs. Summers asks me if I wanna stay for dinner, I tell her yes…. It gives me more time to stare at Maggie!

Chapter 3 (Maggie)

The first day of school
was awesome. I made two new friends and it turns out that Jase has a protective side because he was right there after Josh slapped my ass and picked me up. After gym, I went to my math class with Jeff, my gay best friend. He has blonde curly hair, baby blue eyes, and a nice body. If he wasn’t gay, we would have hooked up a long time ago. Heather and I meet up after class. “Hey, girl. How was your first day?” I say.

“It was awesome. I think I’ll like it here after all,’’ she says, smiling.

“Would you like to come over to my house and hang out?” I ask smiling her.

“Yeah, sure.”
We head out of school together. I ask if she needed to call her parents, but she said that April would let them know. We got into my jeep and turned on some music.
“Sorry, my brothers love this song and they kind of got me hooked,” I say and she laughs.

I
pull up to my house and Heather sighs. “Wow, this house is gorgeous, Maggie.” Smiling I tell her to follow me

We
head inside and smell cookies. I love my mom’s cookies. Giving her a hug and kiss on the cheek, I say, “Hey, mom.  This is Heather, a new girl at school. How was your day?”

She kissed my cheek. “My day was good, baby girl.  Hi, Heather. It’s very nice to meet you

We talk to my
mom about our day for a few minutes, then I ask Heather if she wants to go riding. “Sure,” she says, smiling, so we head upstairs to my room to put on jeans and boots.

When we head back downstairs, my dad and brothers are in the kitchen.
“Hey, Daddy. This is Heather.”

Dad
smiles at her. “Hi, Heather. Since my daughter didn’t do it, let me introduce her brothers, Jade and Creed.” You going riding, baby girl?”

“Yeah, we are just heading out now. Adam is coming back with some friends, too.”

Creed and Jade both
walk over to me, giving me a weird look, then they start tickling me.
“So, brat, you weren’t going to introduce us to your friend?” Creed says and they both smirk. I swear, if they don’t stop, I might just pee myself. Mom and Dad are no help as they’re just laughing.

“God, no!! Remember, I know how you two are. If I could keep Adam away from her, I would.” I stick my tongue out at them.

They just laugh at me and
Jade says, “Good luck with that, brat.”

Heather and I
head outside as Adam and the other boys are getting out of their cars. “Are you taking her out riding, Maggie?” Adam asks.

“Yes, sir, I am.”

Once we get into the barn,
I went about saddling up Storm and Moon. Heather looks a little scared so I smile at her. “They’re good horses. It’ll be fine.”

We
ride around for a little bit and I think Heather is having a good time. After we get done, unsaddled and brushed out the horses, I asked Heather if she wanted to go on the four-wheelers for a while. She nodded her head, vigorously. I think she had an awesome time, even though we were dirty afterwards.

My brother
, Jade, came out to tell me that Mom wanted us so we started to head for the house. Adam stopped us before we got there. “Out on the four-wheelers, too, brat?” He asks.

“Yes, we were, Adam,” I said.

“Wow, I think you’re the first girl that I’ve met that doesn’t mind getting dirty. Heather, I’m surprised you went,” Jase says. I smile and Heather stuck her tongue out as we walk into the house.

Mom
tells us that she needs some help setting the table and making a salad. She asks Heather if she and Jase would like to stay for supper. “Sure, but I’ll have to ask Jase.”

The boys came
walking into the house so mom asked him.  “That’d be great. Thank you,” Jase says.

She
tells all the boys to go get cleaned up because supper is almost ready. After we all sit around the table and Dad says grace, we start passing food around the table. “Creed and Jade, can you two help fix fences this weekend?” Dad asks.

Creed says, “I can, but Jade has an event. Put Adam and Maggie to work on it, too.”

“They’re helping. I asked them last weekend.” Jase and Heather both look at us so I smile at them.

After supper
, Dad and the boys tell jokes and talk about football, while Mom and I clean up. “Why don’t you take Heather and show her around?” Mom says.

I
went into the living room and ask Heather if she’d like to walk around outside. The boys ask if they can come along. I say sure. While we walk around and I show her some of the ranch, the boys start messing around. Suddenly, I’m grabbed from behind and thrown over a shoulder. I scream, “Oh, my god, Jade. You scared the shit out of me!” Everyone laughs.

“Sorry, baby girl. Eh, not really.” I swear I’m going to kick his ass one day.

“One day, I’ll get so fat that you can’t do that to me EVER AGAIN!” That just makes him and everyone else laugh harder.

“Aww, come on, Maggie. You know you love yourself too much for that,” he says. Oh, I am going to seriously hurt him.

“HAHA, you’re so funny…not.”

He
grabs my hands. “Why don’t you show Heather and Jase what barrel racing is.” He winks at me.

I look over at them
, then back at Jade. “Sure. You going to time me?” He nods, smiling.

We walk over to the corral
. I saddle up Storm while Adam and Jade set up the barrels.
“Hey, what is barrel racing anyway?” Heather asks.

“You’ll see in a few minutes.  Just know that Maggie is one of the best,” Pete says.

Storm and I
wait until Jade gives me the single to go. We start racing through the barrels. I get to the end and turn storm around. Jade gives me the thumbs up and calls out my time, “33.43 seconds! Awesome job!”

I look around
to see that Adam and Pete have huge smiles. “Great job, Maggie!” Pete yells and Adam nods. I look at Heather, and she and Jase look shocked. I laugh at their shocked faces

“That’s what barrel racing is” Pete tells them. They shake their heads and smile her me

“Damn Maggie… that was awesome” Jase tells me, after a while we all head back towards the house.

It
was time for Heather and Jase to head home so we all said our goodbyes. I headed in to take a shower, then call Amy. After I was done, I went back downstairs to watch a movie with Dad because everyone else was off doing something else. Halfway through the movie, I say, “Goodnight, Daddy. I’m beat.”

“Goodnight, baby girl,” Dad said, giving me a hug. Heading up to my room, I crawl into bed and was out like a light in seconds.

****

The next morning, I pick out a pale pink sundress and my pale pink cowgirl boots, and head for the shower. Getting dressed, I pull my hair up into a ponytail, put on my necklace and earrings, and do my make-up. I head downstairs for some of Mom’s eggs and bacon. Everyone else was already at the table. “Aww, baby girl, you look cute in that dress,” Mom says. I make a face and she laughs.

“Hey, Mags, you gonna ride with me today?” Adam asks.

“I was planning on it,” I say. After breakfast, we grab our stuff and head out.

As we pull into the school parking lot, we see
that Pete, Jake, Travis, and Josh are all there waiting on us. Josh starts to walk towards me when Jase shows up and stands in front of me. Adam gives him a small nod, and I put my hand on his back and whisper,

Thanks, Jase.”

I
walk away to join Heather, Kelly, Sarah, Jeff, and Amy. I look back towards the guys to see both Adam and Jase staring this way. Jase is definitely hot but, after what Heather told me last night, I’m not going there. From what she said, it sounds like he’s just like my brothers and that’s something I don’t do. It really is to bad “Hey, girls. Ready for cheerleading tryouts today?” I ask.

“Hell, yeah!” they all say, making me giggle.

The boys head over to us
. Adam puts his arm around my shoulders. “Let me guess. You girls were just talking about cheerleading tryouts, right?” Adam says. We all smirk at him and nod our heads.

Jeff walks over to Jas
e and holds out his hand. “Hey, I’m Jeff. I never got the chance to meet you yesterday,” he said.

Jas
e shakes his hand but, before he got the chance to say anything, Josh chimes in. “Jase, you do know that he’s a fag, right?”

I
go to slap him, but Jase stops me. “No, Maggie.” He turns to Josh. “Why would I care if he’s gay? The only one I dislike right now is you.  For one, you can’t seem to keep your hands off of a girl that wants nothing to do with you. Two, saying shit like that just shows what kind of person you are.” Josh gives him a dirty look, walking away. I didn’t think he would stand up for Jeff. Maybe there’s a lot more to him than I think.

“Thanks, man,” Jeff says and I smile at him.

“Alright, boys and girls. Time to get to class,” Mr. Ward says to us. Amy, Jeff, and I all head to Advanced History, and take our seats. I’m just about to ask Amy about track when my cell phone buzzes. I look and see that it’s a message from Adam.

Adam:
Hey, sis, looks like someone has the hots for you.

Me:
Whatever, Adam. It’s not happening.

Adam:
And why is that, Maggie?

Me:
Because Heather told me that he’s a player just like you. No thanks.

Adam:
Come on, Maggie. Since when did you start listening to what other people say?

Me:
Just drop it, please.

Adam:
Fine. Whatever you say.

I look back up to see Amy and Jeff both staring at me
. What?”
I say.

“How come you look so pissed off?” Amy asks.

I wish that there
could be something between Jase and I, but there’s no way I’m going for a one-night stand.  “Adam is trying to tell me that Jase has the hots for me, but there no way I’ll do anything about it. Heather told me that he’s just like my brothers.”

“Really, Maggie, since when have you ever listened to what other people say?” Jeff said. They’re right, but I’ve seen how my brothers are.

“Yeah, maybe, but she’s telling the truth and I don’t want to get hurt.”

“Whatever. Anyway, what are you doing tonight?” Amy asks.

I look at her
, wondering what she’s up to. “Nothing, why? What’s up?”

“There’s a bonfire over at Sarah’s tonight. Want to go?”

“Sure,” I say, just as Mrs. Mills walks in.
