“Are we staying here for a week together?” I asked excitedly thinking of all the time we would have to get to know one another.

“We can stay as long as you want.”

I closed my eyes feeling the joy fill my body just at the thought of that.

It would have been difficult to find anyone as happy as me that first week of my new life. With Charlie firmly by my side I could have conquered anything, but having my mother there too, well, if I had wings I could have flown. It didn’t bother me that my mother had money and lots of it. If she had been penniless I still would have wanted her in my life. What it did for me was help me find the lost part of myself I had been searching for.

I knew I had loose ends to tie up, but facing them with the support I had now from my true love, my mother and dear friends I knew I could achieve anything.

I now noticed the person I really was. I could see the parts of me Charlie had fallen in love with. The fun loving friend Lorna laughed with and the daughter I could be deep in my mother’s emerald eyes.

Finally I had found my place, my path, my whole life. Which began to take shape from the very first moment Charlie had taken the courage to
