Jack fell on top of me, exhausted. His shirt was off, but his jeans were still halfway on. We took the rest of our clothes off and just enjoyed being in each other’s arms. There were worse things in the world than taking over the body of a woman whose boyfriend was Jack Fucking Stark, that was for sure. I let him put his arms around me. It felt good to be held like that again. I just hoped that I’d have enough time in Sophie’s body to do some real damage.

“Fuck, Sophie, where did that come from?” Jack finally said after he relaxed a bit from the strenuous activity. He breathed heard, still sweaty from the effort he put in pleasuring me. Huh, if he only knew. If he only knew.

“I don’t know, Jack. I guess I was just in the mood,” I said, trying to sound as American as possible.

“Why are you using a British accent?”

Well, shit, I guess my voice coach was really right. I had no bloody hope of mastering the American accent. “And why not? Maybe I’m acting. Maybe we could be in one of your movies together these days.”

Jack laughed. “You’re funny, Sophie. If you’re doing this because of what I said about you and Hunter going on tour, you can stop now. I got the message.” He leaned in close and kissed me on the forehead. I lifted my head and gave him a deep kiss on the mouth, lost in the sensation that I ended up biting his lip. It drew blood.

“Ouch, Sophie! What the hell was that about?”

“Less talking, more fucking,” I said and Jack got the message loud and clear. He didn’t dare say a word for the rest of the day.

His mouth, his lips, his tongue were all over my body and mine on his. Each time he looked like he was about to say something I stopped him with a kiss. We fucked (or “made love” if you like) in every position imaginable. My pussy, or should I say Sophie’s pussy, definitely needed a break after awhile. I was surprised at how reliable and ready to go Jack was. The man could get hard at a moment’s notice. No wonder he was a sex addict, I thought. I can’t say I blamed him. Sex was one of my favorite things in the world as well. We were a good match. I truly didn’t know why he felt the need to shoot me in the head, and for such a stupid girl as Sophie. She couldn’t give him sex this good if she tried.

We fell asleep of exhaustion in each other’s arms, and when we woke we just started again. It felt like days had passed, but it must not have been that long. As all good things come to an end, so did our glorious fuckfest. We took a shower together and then a bath. I laid in his arms, feeling his semi hard member beneath me and smiling. Always Ready Jack, indeed!

We were finally famished by dinner so we decided to make an appearance. I looked through Sophie’s wardrobe and was not surprised to find it totally drab and boring. I did as best as I could, which meant I looked like shit in jeans and a slightly revealing t-shirt. Shockingly, Sophie did not have any make up. I guess she was still going for that boring au natural look. I put my hair back in a ponytail and it at least looked a little bit better.

“I like your hair like that,” Jack said as we made our way downstairs.

Everyone was already seated and we could sense the tension in the room. No friendly hellos or whatever were exchanged. The invalid was there, looking at his empty plate. After I sat next to Jack, I put my hand under the table and on his thigh. He breathed hard, and I knew he was reacting exactly like I wanted him to.

The old hag rang a bell and I almost burst out laughing. Who did she think she was, the queen of England?

“Jack, my son,” the old hag started to say after the maid or cook or whatever left us with full plates. I almost went for the lusciously juicy steak but remembered that stupid Sophie was vegetarian. I didn’t want to raise any more suspicions, my terrible American accent gave me enough trouble as it was, so I opted for the veggie option, along, with not surprisingly, the blonde nancy boy. “I think you and your...friend...should leave shortly. We don’t tolerate that kind of behavior in this house.”

I had no idea what she was talking about.

“Fine by me,” Jack said and pushed his chair closer to me. He kissed me lightly on the cheek and whispered in my ear. “You were too loud, sweetie.”

“You’re kicking us out because of that?” I asked the old hag, while she refused to look directly at me. I patted my flat stomach. “We were making you a grandchild, Mrs. Stark, you should be happy.”

“I cannot abide this. I will retire to my room if you insist on letting this girl talk to me this way,” the old hag got up to go.

Jack was quicker. “No, mother, we’re leaving,” he said as he got up and took me along with him. I managed to grab a roll of bread as he dragged me out.

“I can’t believe her,” he hissed. “Well, I can, but still.”

“It’s alright my lovely Jack. We don’t have to stay in this drab old place. Don’t you have a place in the city?”

“Stop with the accent please. I don’t think I can take it right now,” he let go of my hand and was up the stairs before I could say anything else.

It wasn’t my fault the stupid bitch I took the body from was American. I really wasn’t in the mood for fighting so I sat on the stairs and ate my bread roll. I was famished, and Jack managed to ruin our dinner. I hoped he planned on making it up to me soon, or I’d find someone else to play hooky with.

“I know what you are, whore!” The old hag stood above me with anger and hatred swirling in her eyes.

I didn’t move out of her way. Instead I looked her squarely in the eye. “I know your dirty little secret. The attic? I wonder what Jack will think when he finds out.”

That got her attention. Her face blanched more than it already was from all the powder she put on it. The fear in her eyes was unmistakable. “You mustn’t! No one must know, and how do you? It’s impossible!”

“I know more shit than you ever will, hag. So treat me with some respect or I’ll ruin your ass, capiche?”

“Get out of my house! Get out of my house!”

“After I’ve eaten, bitch. Then it’s all yours.” I laughed at that. “But we both know it really isn’t, don’t we?”

She took me by the shoulders and shook me. “How do you know? Are you one of them?!” I pushed her away and she almost stumbled to her feet, but got hold of the wall just in time.

“Huh! Hell no. I’m not dumb enough to mess with that shit. He be coming for your soul, hag, you better watch out!” I made ghostly noises as I waved my hands and when I saw the serious look on her face I laughed out loud.

“Now, I’m hungry and I’m going to eat. No need to waste perfectly good food, am I right?”

I didn’t look back at the old hag but I hoped I gave her a lot to think about.

I returned to the dining room where the three brothers were talking in hushed voices. I sat back down in my place and ate everything on my plate. “I’m absolutely famished,” I said between bites.

“You’re still doing that British thing? What’s wrong with you?” The long haired one looked at me quizzically, Hunter I guess his name would be. The one that fucked Sophie behind his brother’s back. I wondered how it felt riding on that pony.

Since we were leaving anyway I reached across the table for Jack’s stake and took a knife and savored the meaty flavor.

“You’re disgusting,” the blond said and wheeled the invalid out.

“What’s his problem?” I said between bites.

“Are you having some kind of breakdown?” Hunter looked at me like I was from outer space. Maybe I was going a bit overboard. Maybe I should have acted a bit more conservative and saintly (huh) like Sophie, but I just didn’t know how much time I had left. I wasn’t gonna be a boring ass copy of her if this flesh thing didn’t last for long. I slid over to Jack’s seat, which was right next to Hunter’s.

I put my hand on his thigh and then I slid it upwards till it rested on his crotch. I could feel his tool rising beneath the jeans. “Let’s fuck,” I said.

“You’re fucking crazy,” he hissed as he pushed me away. He got up so fast that a couple of the plates clacked together.

“Your loss!” I yelled after him and continued to savor the sweet taste of meat. Mmm, I hadn’t tasted food this good in a long fucking time. At least since my time in London.

I took the bottle of wine and gulped most of its contents down and burped. I was alone, who cared anyway?

Then a couple of minutes later Jack came in with two suitcases.

He put them down on the floor. “What’s wrong with you? Hunter just told me that you hit on him? And Aidan, too? What the fuck is going on, Sophie? I thought we had an understanding.”

“Lucy,” I said.

“What about her? She’s dead and buried. Let’s forget about her?”

“Well I can’t, Jack. You fucked her and then you shot her in the head like it was nothing. How could I forget such a thing?”

He keeled down beside me and took my hands in his and looked me straight in the eyes. “You know that’s not true. What I did still haunts me, but I did it to protect you, us, and I would do the same in a heartbeat again if I got the chance. I love you, Sophie, don’t you love me?”

“I don’t know, Jack. I don’t know what I feel anymore,” I tried to make is sound as dramatic and as stupid as Sophie would have. Then I realized Jack was rich and I was nothing without him. I took his face in my hands and kissed him deep. “Of course I love you, you dummy.”

“Then why are you acting like this? Coming on to my brothers? The accent? Are you having some kind of breakdown over what happened on the island?”

“No, Jack. I don’t know. All I know is that I need you now more than ever.”

He took me in his arms and I eyed the steak knife. I thought about how easy it would be to plunge it into his neck. Watch the surprise on his face as I told him who I really was. But all that could wait. I needed Jack now. His brother obviously weren’t interested. I needed Jack’s money, and I needed his body to fulfill my basest of desires. But as soon as I didn’t need him anymore, or when I felt my control over Sophie’s body was slipping, I’d take whatever was convenient and end him good and proper and tell him exactly why I was doing it. Murderous bastard.

I smiled my sweetest smile at him. “Let’s get out of here,” I said. “Let’s go live in the city.”

“What about Rory? I thought for sure you’d want to go back to paradise island,” he said as he picked up our suitcases.

“What about him?” What the fuck did Rory have to do with any of this?

“He might be missing us. He likes you a lot, and I’m pretty sure he likes me as well. Unless he’s met someone on the island, I’m pretty sure he misses the fun we had together.”

“Rory Wakefield, that Rory?”

“Yeah, that’s his last name. What’s going on Sophie? You’re acting really strange.” He put his arm on my waist as we made our way out.

So Rory, my boyfriend at the time I died, somehow got involved with Jack and Sophie, and from the sounds of it they might have even had a threesome. Maybe Sophie wasn’t as boring as I thought. But Rory being into guys? I didn’t see that coming. He liked my pussy pretty well if I remembered correctly. It made me kind of queasy to think of him going around with my murderers. Sure I didn’t love him or anything, but he was a cop for goodness sake. Now I wished more than ever that I actually had some of Sophie’s memories.

Pretty soon, we were in the car, driving to god knows where. I wondered how much longer I had Sophie’s body.

Jack turned on the car and we drove away from that dreadful house. It felt good to see it get smaller in the distance. The shit Jack’s mother was dealing in I wanted no part of. I wondered if I should tell him, but when I saw the peaceful look on his face as he drove, I thought Nah, he don’t deserve a warning. If he hadn’t killed me I might have given him a clue, but this way I was looking forward to what lay ahead, either in body or out of it.

And then I felt it. The further we went from Jack’s place, the stronger the pull got. It seemed that I was tied to that stream after all. It seemed I didn’t have enough power without it.

“Stop the car!”

“Calm down, Sophie. You made sure we weren’t going back there anytime soon. What the hell were you thinking?”

“Fuck!” I screamed as I felt the pull get stronger and stronger. It was now or never. You’re coming to join me, Jack. I took the wheel of the car and pulled it to my side as much as I could. We skidded off the road and went in for the trees. I felt the pull and then

Chapter Twenty-Eight

I
found myself in a car that was heading for a tree and I didn’t know how the hell I got there. Jack swerved just in time and stopped the car abruptly afterwards before we had a chance to hit another tree. I thanked my lucky stars that I had a seatbelt on, because otherwise I’d probably be flying out the window.

“What the fuck, Sophie!” Jack practically screamed at me as he unbuttoned his seatbelt. “Get the fuck out of the car.”

I was in shock. Jack had to be the one to unbutton my seatbelt. He got out of the car and came over to my side and opened the door. My whole body ached in pain and shock. Jack basically dragged me out. “What the fuck, you just tried to kill us!”

“Jack,” I found it hard to form words. It was as if I was halfway here and halfway somewhere else. “What happened?”

“You took the wheel from my hands and swerved us off the fucking road, that’s what. I was willing to overlook your weird behavior the last day or so, but this is too much. What the hell were you thinking?” He ran his hands through his hair. He was obviously angry and frustrated with me, and I had no idea why.

“Jack, I don’t know what’s going on. How did I even get here? The last thing I remember I was in the woods, walking away from the stream, and then BAM I was here about to crash into a tree.” Tears started forming in my eyes but I pushed them back. This was no time to be weak. I needed to know what the hell happened to me. Hallucinations were one thing, but losing a whole day, that was quite another.

“Are you serious? You don’t remember anything since yesterday?” Jack looked at me closely. He examined my head. “You didn’t hit your head, so that can’t be it.”

“What happened Jack? What did I do and why are we on the road?”

“My mother kicked us out.”
