“Yes.”
She smiled. "Good; now what was it you were telling me about you being a father?"
Gino grinned at the thought of his son. “I’m the father of a beautiful baby boy named Ashaun but I can't be there for him the way that I want because I don't know how."
"Just try. Practice makes perfect---. Try coming around more often and holding him, changing him, feeding him, and buying him toys. Just let your presence be known and trust me he'll know that you are indeed his father. Even twice a week is a good start."
They sat in silence for a few seconds.
"Well it looks like your session is over. I will see you next week Andres; and remember what I said. You are not Gino. He's just a figment of your imagination."
CHAPTER 36 (Kiara)
"What's wrong?" Kiara acquired clutching her robe tightly.
"Can we talk?" Princess asked sweetly wiping her tears.
Kiara glanced over her shoulder as if she were a little apprehensive about letting Princess into her apartment. "Sure. Come in."
"I know that we haven't spoken in a while but I've been thinking that nothing should be able to break what we have. We've been friends for years and now all of a sudden thing’s have changed. I miss you Ki-ki. I forgave you a long time ago and all I want to know is can you forgive me for what I've put you through." Princess said.
***
"Dominic what the hell is wrong with you?" Kiara questioned Dominic about his fidgety movements. Her, Dominic, and Princess were recently watching a movie in the living room on the couch. Princess left due to her becoming tired. Dominic felt almost relieved once she was gone.
"Why the fuck is she always around? Seems like she’s been here every day this week; last week too." He said irritated.
"What do you mean?" Kiara asked.
"Princess. I can't take her being here anymore." He stated.
"She's my best friend Dominic!" Kiara bellowed.
"Best friend or not. Something is shady about her and everyone can see it but you. I don't like her at all and I don't want her back in here."
"Excuse you. This is my apartment too. I pay half of the rent so I should have say in anybody that comes through that damn door."
"You heard what I said." Dominic stated firmly.
"And you heard what I said. You don't own me or my decisions." She was getting pissed at how he was overreacting.
"OK then. Fuck it. Let’s see how many more times she comes on to me."
"What are you talking about?" She was jumbled at this point.
"Nothing. Forget I said anything." He tried walking away but Kiara stood in front of him thwarting his leave of absence.
"No repeat what you just said." She enquired.
He shook his head. "Oh so now you want to listen to what I have to say huh?"
"Dominic don't play right now. Stop beating around the bush and just fucking say it!" She shrieked.
"SHE CAME ON TO ME! When you weren't around she was all up on me talking shit about you. She said that she has been feeling me for a while and that we should be together. As long as she got you out of the picture 1st. That bitch has something up her sleeve and I'm not trying to have no more drama. If she lays one hand on you I swear I’m going to----." Kiara cut him off.
"Dominic calm down. When did all of this happen?"
"The other day." He specified looking away.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me?" She howled thumping him in the chest.
"Hey don't get violent with me. You were all lovey dovey at the fact the you and her were on good terms again and I didn't want to upset you."
Kiara pulled her long curly tresses into a tight bun. "I'll be back." She mumbled removing her earrings.
"Where you going?" He queried jumbled.
"To beat a bitch’s ass the way I should have done a long time ago." She itemized.
"Get me like two hits." Dominic roared behind Kiara as the door slammed closed.
CHAPTER 37 (GINO)
He pushed his circular frames upon his face whilst throwing away the fake contacts which added to the list of things he was faking. The rubber band that had engulfed his silky hair was being thrown away as well seeing as how he was trying new things. His hair felt lighter and so did his attitude about life. The way he dressed changed too. He wanted his appearance to people to be different from what it had been all along. Walking in the mall all alone, he was hoping to clear his mind as well as buy a couple of outfits---for his son.
"Excuse me." A voice called from behind him. He had no intentions of even turning around due to the fact that he didn't think the person was talking to him. He soon felt a small pair of hands tug at his arm.
"Excuse me. But aren't you Gino?" She questioned biting her bottom lip and out of habit she twirled the ends of her black and honey blonde streaked hair.
"It depends on who wants to know." He said.
"Me silly." She chuckled. "I've heard a lot about you and I wanted to see if those things---are true." She winked to get her point across.
"Well I'm sorry to inform you that I am not Gino. My name is Andres. Nice to meet you." He specified outspreading his hand for her to shake. She looked at his hand like it had six heads then flicked her hair over her shoulder.
"Ewe. My mistake. How could I have mistaken you for Gino. You look nothing like him." She walked away from him speedier than she'd came. All he did was chortle. He succeeded; he no longer looked like the creature that he'd come to be.
My name is Andres not Gino, he repeated. He couldn't help but to laugh every time he said it. He looked back at the girl who'd just approached him and she rolled her eyes and scoffed prior to walking off with her flock of groupie home girls. Had it been a couple weeks back, he'd have her face down, ass up, and skirt nonexistent. Now he realized that sex, money, power, and drugs didn't make the world go around.
CHAPTER 38 (Kiara)
Her fingers were just about ready to wrap around Princess's throat. She was sick and tired of this. Princess was supposed to be her best friend and now she's trying to pull this stunt. Kiara understood that all trust was thrown out of the window once she found out that she'd slept with Gino and had his child, but she thought Princess had forgiven her.
Obviously not.
Once she pulled into the driveway of the new home Princess was residing in she noticed her car and was glad that she was home. She didn't want to have to postpone the beat down she was about to give to Princess. She remembered that no matter what, where ever Princess lived, she would always leave a spare key under the welcome mat due to the fact that she always loses her keys.
"Bingo." There was in fact a key under the mat. Letting herself in, she quietly walked around in search of Princess. Her fingers trailed against the walls as she walked up the stairs to Princess's room.
"Where the hell could she be?" Kiara thought. The place wasn't even that big and she was finding something pretty odd about the complete silence.
Once inside Princess's room she discovered that Princess was nowhere to be found. But the pictures all over the wall kept her attention. There were dozens of pictures of Ryan and Jordan on the walls with big bright red X's over them. There were also pictures of Kiara, Gino, Dominic and baby ashaun plastered all over the walls. The one that disturbed her the most was the picture of her and Dominic in the mall holding the baby. Princess cut Kiara's face off and glued her own face upon it.
A bad feeling washed over her body. She turned around and began to run, but tripped and fell on a book. It wasn't just any kind of book. Inside held journal entrees from the present year
2016 and dated back as far as to 2009.
Dear Journal,
A blonde Bimbo cut me off in traffic. She had the nerve to cut me OFF. Can you believe that? Well I'll make sure she never does it again. Let’s see how she likes her body when there's no head attached to it.
Dear Journal,
I found out that the bitch I call a friend slept with my husband. I don't know what I'm going to do to her yet but trust me, It'll be painful.
Dear Journal,
Ryan denied me. At first he loved me and now he doesn't. Well I have something for him. If I can't have him then neither can anyone else. I hope he burns in hell.
Dear Journal,
I don't feel bad about what I did to Jordan. He deserves it for not loving me.
Dear Diary,
Kiara's son is so adorable. Once she's out of the picture I'll be his new mommy.
Kiara's eyes began to tear up. The date on the last journal entry was written today; March 10th and the time was set to 8:21pm. She could barely see her watch due to all the tears welled up in her eyes. She wanted to yelp but speedily sheltered her mouth once she saw that the time was now 8:19pm. Two minutes before the time Princess had written in her journal.
Princess stood in the doorway clad in a towel and her wet hair laid on her shoulders. "What took you so long?" Princess questioned walking over to her dresser and retrieving under garments.
"Huh?" Kiara's voice was just above a whisper.
"You know silly. I've been waiting for you." She said sweetly smiling. "Oh I see you've found my journal. Do you like what I've written?"
"You're fucking crazy." Kiara said.
"CRAZY!!! Well I wouldn't say crazy. I'm just a bit on the wild side." She chuckled.
"Stay the fuck away from me and my family." Kiara said backing up.
"Oh is that a threat?" Princess asked.
Kiara jumped when Princess started leisurely walking towards her. Kiara didn't notice the butcher knife in her hand. When Kiara tried to run, Princess used that as her advantage and pushed Kiara head first down the stairs----.
***
Kiara could feel the pain with each step she fell down. Her head began to immediately throb as she moaned in pain. Her vision was blurred from the constant tears that began to fall from her eyes. How could she have been so stupid to get herself in this predicament she thought to herself. Now she was thinking of how she could get herself out.
"I'm so sick and tired of people like you. Creeping up and taking my men. You're the reason no one loves me. Ever since we were little my parents adored you and begged me to be more like you. Well guess what, I have a surprise for you." Princess walked slowly down each step waving the knife in the air. "Once you're gone I'm going to love replacing you."
Slowly attempting to crawl away, Kiara was soon halted by hard tugging of her hair. "Where do you think you're going?" Princess enquired.
Princess used the knife just as if it were a pair of scissors and began to chop Kiara's hair off. She felt as if kiara wasn't pretty any more, then no one would love her so she continued on with her task. Princess was so caught up with cutting Kiara's hair off that she was in a whole different zone meaning that she wasn't paying attention. Kiara spun around, kicking Princess in her knees causing her to lose her balance.
She hit the floor with a loud thud whilst Kiara attempted to lift her sore body from the floor to make a feeble bee-line out the front door. Of course it was locked and within the time it took for her to unlock it, Princess had already planted her feet back upon the ground. Giving up was what she wanted to do but she knew that things weren't supposed to end like this. A loud gasp escaped Kiara's mouth once she felt her flesh being torn open by the blade of the knife. Its what Princess had been doing to her all along ever since they were little; stabbing her in the back.
Her life flashed before her very own eyes as she turned around to see a devilish smile upon Princess's face. "I didn't want to do it, but you made me. It was self-defense. That's what I'm going to tell the police." She mumbled chuckling.
"Same--- to----you----Bitch!" She struggled to speak as she took short breaths to find the strength to follow her plan through. Her pocket knife came in handy now seeing as how she never needed a reason to use it before. She loved watching the surprised expression on Princess’s face after she launched the knife deep into her stomach with full force.
It seemed as if they'd both fell upon the floor in slow motion. Kiara's very bloody and slippery fingers pushed the numbers on her cell phone that she was very familiar with.
"H---hello." Her voice wasn't functioning properly causing her words to come out in a raspy whisper.
"Kiara?" Dominic quizzed.
"I--Love--you. Tell Ashaun that I love him too. Take care of him for me-----." She said.
"What? Kiara what the hell are you talking about." He shrieked.
Complete silence landed upon them.
"Hello----Hello. Kiara. Baby you scaring me. Are you there?" He interrogated in an apprehensive tone.
He hadn't realized that she wasn't okay and he might not ever get to see her again; Kiara Jones was soon to be another person in the headlines which would probably read
The best of friends slaughtered each other in brutal attack
. She was gradually dying.
