Natalia giggled, the irony of a succubus finding a sexual act unseemly tickling her. “Pyriel, sit on my face. That’s an order.”

Pyriel’s full lips twitched with a smile. “I suppose if it’s an order.”

“It is. Oh, and give me the phallus. I want to put it in your bottom while I taste you.”

A shudder ran through Pyriel’s lush frame, the ruby of her skin glimmering in a million pinpoints of light. “Yes, my princess.”

The sweet scent of fruit grew stronger as Pyriel knelt over Natalia’s head. In this position, the secrets of her body were wide open and Natalia took a moment to admire her. She now could understand some of her lovers’ fascination with her pussy, because she found Pyriel’s wet folds beautiful. Bare of hair, the woman’s cream had a slight shimmer, like liquid pearls. Her clit poked out of her red folds, a slightly darker color, closer to the red of wine than to ruby. The succubus’s pussy looked incredibly soft, and Natalia slowly teased one of her fingers inside.

Pyriel made a guttural noise deep in her throat, and Natalia clutched the silver phallus as the succubus dropped it into her palm. The other woman widened her stance and Natalia gathered the slick moisture from her pussy and spread it around the tight entrance to her bottom. Pyriel twitched and sighed above her and Natalia inhaled the delicious scent of her arousal. Once again it smelled similar to a fruity perfume more than musk and she leaned up to take a long lick. A happy moan escaped her mouth against the other woman’s quivering flesh, and she took another taste. The flavor of ripe, dark fruit with a slightly salty taste filled her and she eagerly licked at Pyriel’s body.

The beautiful devil bent forward and braced her hands on the headboard, her breasts hanging down and wobbling as she twitched with each lick. Natalia removed her mouth and grasped the phallus, licking her lips as she wet it in Pyriel’s juices. When it glistened with moisture, she pressed it against the succubus’s bottom and slowly pressed it in until the fat mushroom head breached the tight muscles of Pyriel’s anus.

With a hiss, the other woman switched her position, turning around so her mouth descended on Natalia’s still-throbbing pussy and thrusting her wet core against Natalia’s mouth. She became lost in the brush of silken thighs against her face, the soft slide of Pyriel’s hair across her stomach, and the taste of the succubus filling her mouth. Add to that the way she massaged the base of Natalia’s clit, and she found herself racing toward another orgasm.

Shoving two fingers into Pyriel’s pussy, she pumped them in and out, responding to the thrusting of the other woman’s hips. She could feel the phallus through the thin membrane that separated her fingers from the metal in the other woman’s bottom and she had the delicious thought that if her men were to take her at the same time, they would be able to feel each other’s cocks as they fucked her.

The thought of that rough, sinful pleasure had her sucking on the succubus’s clit as if it were a little erection. Seconds later Pyriel screamed her release against Natalia’s flesh, her tongue lashing at her clit until Natalia arched and bucked as her own blissful orgasm swept through her. The two women shuddered and moaned, their pleasure rebounding between them until Natalia had to push the exotic devil off and break the connection before she passed out.

They lay there panting long enough for the sweat to chill on her body. Natalia shivered and pulled Pyriel toward her, spooning the other woman, careful to avoid the deadly spike on her tail. The succubus purred happily, and Natalia pulled a thick white fur lined with black silk over them, burying her face in the damp softness of Pyriel’s hair.

“Sleep, my princess,” the other woman murmured as she held Natalia’s arms tight around her. “Nothing will harm you here. I swear it.”

A light tingle of magic followed those words, and Natalia decided not to fight it. She gratefully embraced the spell that pulled her into a much needed rest, her body and spirit fully sated and relaxed. Dimly, she was still aware Pyriel stroked her arms with a butterfly-soft touch, all the while humming some nameless song that reminded Natalia of the wind whispering through the trees at night.

Chapter Four

“Princess, wake up.”

Natalia grumbled and burrowed deeper into the soft bed, her body blissfully ache-free and the shadowy part of her soul well fed for once. The slide of the silk sheets against her body felt so good. All she wanted to do was lay here in the darkness and let her thoughts drift.

“Princess,” the soft voice said again, and Natalia vaguely placed it as belonging to a beautiful woman with lips as ripe and sweet as plums.
Pyriel
. She was sleeping in Pyriel’s bedroom. She wiggled her backside into the hollow of that woman’s stomach.

“You’re enough to tempt a saint, but you need to wake up.”

A moment later, cool air hit her back as her blanket was jerked off and sharp teeth bit into her bottom. “Ouch!” she screeched and scrambled up the bed, holding her butt.

Pyriel, now dressed in a black leather gown, grinned at her and tossed her a royal-blue silk dress. “Put that on, Princess. I confess when I see you all trembling and flustered it’s hard to overcome my selfish wish to keep you here forever. Unfortunately, I think your men would attempt a rescue and spoil our fun.”

Natalia grumbled, but she slid the dress on and flopped back into the mass of pillows at the head of the bed. “What time is it?”

“You’ve been asleep for ten hours. Galina will be coming soon to escort you to meet with your father, but there are some things you need to know before you leave.”

The familiar ball of tension that seemed to be with her every minute of the day reappeared in her gut and chased away some of the hard-earned relaxation her time with Pyriel had given her. No matter where she went, no matter what she did, she couldn’t escape her responsibilities for long. She sat up and smoothed her hair back the best she could. “Please continue.”

“I didn’t intend to bed you.”

“I see.” Natalia stiffened and began to slide off the mattress, in as dignified manner as she could, considering her dress kept getting twisted around her knees and her hair fell in disheveled tangles around her face.

Before she made it to the edge, Pyriel dragged her back to the center. “No, I’m explaining this all wrong.” She pulled Natalia into her arms and rested her cheek on top of her head. “What I meant was I don’t want you to think I intended to seduce you for any form of political favor. You…your passion surprised me. Nothing is more flattering to a succubus than to be wanted for who we are, not who you think we are.” She chuckled and placed a kiss on Natalia’s cheek. “And you’re all too tempting with that beautifully rounded body of yours.”

Natalia blushed and sat back so she could face the other woman. “Why did my father have me give you a portion of his power?”

Pyriel’s lips curved into a decidedly smug smile. “Because succubi and incubi are of the few creatures that can sometimes reach opium addicts and incite lust.”

“What? How?”

“In their dreams. We can break through the body’s physical barriers of addiction and seduce their thoughts, remind them how good sex feels.” Pyriel sighed and rubbed her mouth. “Sometimes it works and the addict will seek out a partner upon waking, but for the most part they revert right back to their addiction.”

Natalia held the other woman’s hand in her own, stroking her thumb across her palm. “Still, it’s more luck than anyone else has had. So what does my father’s power have to do with it?”

“Did they tell you I am considered the leader of my people?”

“Yes.”

“Well, it’s similar to how your father’s followers gain their strength from him. My succubus sisters gain their strength from me. By giving me a boost of his power, the high prince gave me the ability to strengthen them as well to aid in their efforts to seduce the opium addicts.”

“But why didn’t
he
give it to you?”

“That I don’t know.” Pyriel slid off the bed and pulled Natalia with her. “Maybe he knew I needed to see you as something other than the all-too-human princess. Maybe he knew I’ve been lonely. Maybe he knew your men have been more of a stress on you than usual and you needed a break. There are more possibilities than stars in the sky, but I am thankful I had the chance to taste your soul.” She cupped Natalia’s face in her hands and held her gaze. “You have a strong, honest spirit and I hope it survives Hell.”

“Me, too,” Natalia muttered.

Pyriel placed a quick kiss on top of her head and her tail wrapped around Natalia’s waist, tugging her close. The women shared a soft caress, and Natalia tasted that hint of fruit on the succubus’s lips. “You taste different than anyone I’ve ever kissed. Sweet and…delicious.”

Laughing softly, the other woman stroked Natalia’s arms, reawakening the slow burn of desire that never seemed to fully sleep since she’d entered Hell. “It’s one of King Satan’s jokes.”

“What?”

“When he created us with the High Prince Asmodeus, they flavored our bodies to taste like the forbidden fruit. Rather appropriate for succubi and incubi.”

Natalia stared at her then started giggling. Chatting with her about court gossip, Pyriel helped her fix her hair and finish getting dressed. It almost reminded her of talking with her friends back in Kazan and her heart ached for a time when her life had been much simpler. She wouldn’t give up the love of her men for anything in the world, but sometimes she wished she still lived in a world of blissful ignorance, unaware of how complicated things were.

Just as Pyriel finished arranging her hair, a knock came at the door. The succubus’s nostrils flared and she sighed. “Galina is here. I wish we had more time together.” She traced the tips of her fingers down Natalia’s neck. “I know the demands on your time are great, but if you and your concubine ever wish to come visit with me, I’d be honored.”

Natalia sighed and brushed some imaginary lint from her dress. “I don’t know if that will be possible. My concubine…he…well, he doesn’t want to share.”

Pyriel laughed and held her hand as they walked toward the door. “I’ve found men often view sharing their lover with another woman to be quite different from sharing with another man. Just think about it and know I’m here if you ever need a safe place to feed.” A shimmer of flame flashed through her dark eyes. “I promise no one will disturb us.”

Before Natalia could answer, the succubus opened the door to reveal Galina standing on the other side, dressed in a flowing hunter green silk gown with hints of lemon yellow shimmer. As usual, she wore her long, honey-brown hair loose so it fell to the backs of her knees.

With her gaze averted, Galina said, “Princess, your father wishes to have a word with you.” Galina almost turned her head to look at them, but caught herself at the last moment. “Thank you so much for taking care of her, Pyriel.”

Wondering why Galina wouldn’t look at the succubus, Natalia gave Pyriel’s hand a small squeeze before dropping it. As she stepped through the doorway, she felt as if she were returning to the real world, the one where she was the princess of a kingdom under siege. Her senses sharpened and the constant tension she carried with her returned, but at a manageable level. If nothing else, her time with the succubus had given her body and spirit time to heal.

“It was my pleasure, Galina.”

With that, Galina turned to look at Natalia. “If you will please follow me, Princess.”

Pyriel blew her a kiss before closing the door. A brief pang of sadness ran through her, but it was quickly buried beneath the anticipation of speaking with her father and seeing Gregor. Now that most of her anger had been burned off she wanted to talk to him, to try to fix whatever had been slowly going wrong between them over the past few months.

“Galina, you’ve been a concubine for a long time, right?”

The other woman nodded and peeked at Natalia out of the corner of her eye. “For around seven hundred years.”

Natalia swallowed and tried not to stare at Galina as they approached the transportation orb. On either side, guards knelt as they passed and Galina took her hand. They entered the cool mist and Natalia lost track of time as they traveled to their destination. A century, or maybe a minute later, they stepped out of the orb onto her father’s private level of the tallest palace tower. Deep blue marble traced with silver reflected their images as they crossed the vast foyer. Some servants and guards moved quietly about.

Galina slowed their pace and waved the guards back. “Why do you ask?”

Just to be on the safe side, she glanced around to make sure no one was near enough to overhear and took a step closer until their shoulders were almost brushing. “I-I was wondering if you had any advice on how I should deal with Gregor.”

Galina’s full lips thinned to a line. “Do I have permission to speak freely, Princess?”

Natalia had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. “Of course. That’s why I asked for your advice.”

Without another word, Galina tugged her into an alcove that opened up to a balcony looking out over the land. They were above the clouds, and Natalia’s stomach dipped alarmingly at the glimpse of the ground far, far below between the deep blue marble rails. Wooden benches strewn with cushions lined the wall of the palace and a few sat near the railing. Actual grass grew on the ground, so it was as if they were on a floating park in the middle of the sky.

Thankfully, Galina chose a seat against the wall so Natalia’s stomach stopped threatening to empty its contents. She managed to keep from clutching at the edge of the bench but she did grip her hands into fists on her lap. Overhead on a spire, a gargoyle perched in the sunlight, sleeping and absorbing the warmth of the day.

Galina’s sharp tone startled her out of her fear of the balcony falling off the edge of the tower and plunging them to their deaths. “You are making a huge mess of things with Gregor. If you didn’t need him so much, I would have asked your father to remove him from your care a long time ago.”

“What?” The shadowy part of Natalia’s soul woke with a vengeance at the mention of anyone taking Gregor away from her. He was
