By now you’ve reached the end of
Private Relations,
although that wasn’t the end of my story. Sadly, there were far worse things to come. By now I can say I crossed paths with the Long Island Ripper and lived to tell the tale. He nearly killed me and someone very close to my heart become one of his victims as well.

But that wasn’t all I had to deal with. In the midst of this -- right in the middle of fighting for my life -- I was “outed” as an escort to anyone around the world with an internet connection. From New York to Paris to Tokyo to San Francisco, my story was out there for the entire world to see.

What did I do? Did I run in fear, ashamed of who I was or what’d I’d done? Hardly. In retrospect, it was the best thing that could have happened to me. Once my secret was out, I was free, and only through that freedom did I ever find true happiness.

And now, as I watch the Pacific Ocean roar beneath the Golden Gate, I realize that I’ve finally found peace. No more hiding, no more fretting over the past and a slew of memories I couldn’t change. I have a brand new life in San Francisco, one that was truly beyond my wildest dreams.

I’m not escorting anymore. Nor am I working in PR. New city, new job -- along with a new set of responsibilities as well. This Friday afternoon, I’ll need to drive out to Tiburon, pick up Molly after school and bring here back into the city, where we’ll do whatever she pleases.

Nothing but the best for my daughter.

And yes, dear reader, I even found the one I intended to spend the rest of my life with. But as to how I got to this point, and the sacrifices I had to make along the way…
