“I have
money. And hidden plastic.” Wyatt grinned. “I think we could pull this off.
Gabe, what do you think?”

“You don’t
shop for shit,” he told Wyatt. “So, I guess it’s a plan.”

“We’ll bring
back the goods.” Wyatt grabbed Lily’s hand and headed for the door.

“Be
careful,” Gabe called out.

Wyatt looked
into Lily’s eyes. “Definitely.”

The door
closed behind them and Gabe turned to Rachel. “They won’t be that long.”

“I think
I’ll take that shower,” Rachel told him.

“You’ve got
time,” he said.

Gabe
realized he suddenly felt nervous. Fidgety. Rachel was alive. Safe. Beside him.
Why couldn’t he relax?

“Okay, I
think I will. I feel so dirty.”

As she
walked the short distance to the bathroom, he took in the sweet ass pulling the
tiny shorts tight. Gorgeous. Definitely hot. He heard the water start and
turned to the chair by the window. Claiming the one closest to the door, he sat
down and stretched out his long legs. He could feel the exhaustion begging to
take over but ignored it. There would be time for rest later. The sound of a
shower curtain rustling hit his ears. He was left to sit there, thinking about
her in that shower. Maybe he should turn on the TV.

“Gabriel?”

“Yeah?”

“Come here.”

He rose from
the chair and went to the bathroom door. “What’s up? Something wrong?”

“I need
you,” she said simply as she stood with only her head poking out from the
shower curtain. “I need you to make me feel better than I do.”

He looked at
her, knowing what she was asking. It didn’t take a second to start stripping
off his clothes.

He pulled
the shower curtain enough to join her under the warm spray of water. She stood
there, looking lost as tears formed in her eyes.

“I was so
scared, Gabriel. Scared for you.”

He pulled
her into his arms. “Shhh. Beauty, I’m fine. I was the one who was scared. For
you. I still am.”

Rachel laid
her head on his chest and he could feel her body begin to shake as the sobs
took over. The water washed the tears away as he held her to him. It killed him
to see her cry.

“Beauty, I’ve
got you now.” He kissed her wet hair.

“I’m so glad
I’m with you again. I was so scared.”

“Don’t cry.”

But she did
cry. She cried the fear away one tear at a time. He stood there and held her. He
wasn’t going to let her go. If the water ran cold, he would shut it off. He
would stand there with her for as long as she needed.

“Gabriel,
make love to me.”

He couldn’t
answer. The emotions flying through him were raw, some angry, some filled with
a need to hurt those who had hurt her. How could he make love to her now?

“Rachel,
maybe we shouldn’t just yet. I have things on my mind I’m dealing with…”

“Gabriel, I
want you. I don’t care how.”

She stared
into his eyes and the rest of any argument was left unspoken.

He went for
her mouth and his tongue immediately swept inside. He tasted her. He pulled her
into the darkness created by strong emotions and soothed by only by her. She
immediately responded. Her tongue frantically worked with his as their bodies
molded together. Hard and desperate for her, he pressed himself into her and
let her feel it, too. Her hands moved over his chest and then between them,
down over his abs. With a moan in his chest, he reached behind her and placed a
hand on each side of her sweet ass. Her hand went past his abs working between
them until she found him hard and ready. She took him in her hand and gently
squeezed. The moan escaped, deep and rough right into the midst of the intense
kiss. He gently squeezed her ass and she gently drove him into madness as she
stroked him. From the base to the very tip, she teased and touched and gently
squeezed him with a motion designed to drive him to his knees and beg.

“Rachel…”
the kiss broke for a huge intake of air.

“I don’t
want to wait,” she said in a husky whisper.

He was okay
with that. They could do better next time. Grabbing her ass once more, he
picked her up and placed her back against the tiles of the shower. Using his
body, he forced her against the tiles as her legs circled around his waist.
Without thought, without anything but a fire that raged deep inside, he drove
into her wet, hot body.

“Oh God.
Gabriel,” she moaned.

He pumped
furiously. Fast, hard, driving thrusts that moved them toward what they both
searched for. No romance, no sweet words, just an intimate meeting of two
bodies that became one the moment he drove inside her. Rachel’s mouth found his
and gripped him in a searing kiss. Her tongue teased him. It mimicked him. She
sucked it into her mouth and he felt it in his groin. He kept up the pace. She
rocked against him as he kept her pinned to the shower wall.

Rachel
suddenly broke the kiss. Her breaths came in deep pants. Gabe could see her
face going flush. She was almost there. He pumped inside of her as she moved on
him, her legs locking him to her. It was about to finish him off. Her sweet
body clenched tightly around him and he was about to lose it before he could
take her with him.

Mustering a
will of iron, he kept the rhythm just as she demanded. Fast. Hard. Deep. She
met his eyes with hers and he could feel her tightening around him once more.
He was so hard it was almost painful. The muscles in his calves and thighs
began to burn but he kept driving into her. Rachel let out a stammered cry. She
squeezed around him tightly as her body began to buck into his. Deeper. Harder.
His lungs burned. His jaw clamped shut.

“Gabriel.
Now. Gabriel.”

“Yeah, now.”

Rachel
bucked against him. “Now.”

Squeezed
around him so tightly, when she came he stopped fighting. Quicker, deeper. Had
to get there. Harder. Burying his head into her neck, he felt his body jerk. He
was with her. A harsh grunt escaped his throat as he drove deep one final time,
holding her against the wall as all he was shot into her, hot and fierce.

**********

Rachel clung to Gabriel. She was wrapped around him. He was
still inside her even though the intense heat was subsiding. Her breathing was
beginning to regulate. Not Gabriel’s. His chest heaved and his breath bathed
her neck in warm bursts. The water from the spray was barely tepid as it
drizzled over them. They were out of steam.

“Gabriel?” She placed a kiss to his shoulder and laid her
head against it.

“We should move,” she whispered.

“Um hmm. Getting there.”

She laughed. “The water’s getting cold.”

“Water?”

“Water from the shower,” she said with a giggle.

“We’re taking a shower?”

Slowly, he began to move and she let her legs unwind from
around his waist. Her muscles felt like uncontrollable globs. Gently, he helped
her slide down and little flames danced through her once more as she rubbed
down his hard body until she felt the tub at her feet. When she looked up at
him, he leaned down and kissed her. A sweet tenderness filled her as his mouth
gently coaxed hers open. As a loud voice sounded at the door, they pulled
apart. Neither could stop the smiles that appeared.

“I don’t think we’re alone anymore,” she whispered.

“No.”

“I’ll get some clothes for you.”

When he turned to exit the tub, she took in the view. Hot,
hard body. Long, lean and muscled. “If only we didn’t have company.”

He laughed. “Sorry, Beauty.”

She watched him as he quickly dried off and pulled on his
jeans and nothing else.

Commando. Now that knowledge is sexy.

“I’ll be right back,” he said as he left the bathroom.

She grabbed the second towel and began to dry off. The memory
of making love replayed in her mind. It was just as scorching hot in thought as
it had been in action. The way he felt when he drove inside her. It was then
she realized neither had thought about a condom. Her mind raced. What day was
it?

She decided she didn’t want to think about it. The only thing
she focused on was her feelings for Gabriel. It didn’t matter to her that the
condom had been forgotten. It didn’t matter what day it was. The only thing
that mattered to her was how she felt. She loved him. She loved Gabriel Deacon
with a fierceness she couldn’t express. She would take whatever she could get.

The bathroom door opened just as she wrapped the towel around
her.

“What’s wrong?” Gabriel studied her face.

“Nothing.”

“Rachel, something’s up. I see it on your face.” He touched
her face with a gentle hand. “Tell me.”

“I…,” she couldn’t say it yet. Not here. “Can we talk about
it later?”

“If that’s what you want.”

“It is. I swear it’s not bad. Only good.”

He nodded. “When you’re ready.” He handed her a plastic
shopping bag.

“Leave it to Lily to shop till she drops. No matter the
circumstances.”

“She must have gotten everything the two of you would need.”

“Knowing her, she did that and then some.”

“Get dressed,” he chuckled and left her alone.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you yet,” she whispered after the
door closed. “I
will
tell you how much I love you. Soon.”

She reached for the bag and began to check out its contents. She
began by pulling out the skimpy pair of black thongs Lily had buried down deep
in the bag. Gabriel needs to see these, she thought as she pulled off the tags
and slipped them on. Next, she pulled out a pair of shorts, also black. She
managed to get the tags off and pulled them on. The only items left in the bag
were a toothbrush, a turquoise colored T-shirt, a pair of flip flops, sample
sized toiletries and a hairbrush. No bra. With a sigh, she finished dressing
and went for the toothbrush and the toothpaste. It would take a while to work
the knots out of her hair. She would save that for last.

The smile she wore greeted her when she looked in the mirror.
She applied toothpaste to the toothbrush and she felt the smile deepen. She
loved him. It was that simple. He hadn’t told her how he felt but deep inside
she’d felt it. With every touch, every kiss. Every time they’d made love.
They’d never talked about a future or a relationship or their feelings. But
that didn’t matter to her. She was willing to take whatever was meant to be.
She knew what she had to do. She had to tell him before this investigation was
over and he was sent away. She didn’t want him to not know how she felt.

You will know you are loved, Gabriel.

Chapter
Fifteen

His hand
trailed down her naked body, slowly teasing her into a frenzy. His fingers
trailed over her belly and down toward the apex of her thighs. He was
positioned between her legs. His eyes darkened to a sensuous, cool blue as he
spread her thighs wide. With a grin, he slid a finger over her and she jumped.
He did it again. And then he lowered himself to her.

“Oh, God.
Gabriel.”

With the
first swipe of his tongue, she moaned. Electricity surged through her. With the
second, she fisted her hands in the sheets as the flames he teasingly tended
seared her. The flames grew as he licked and teased. She wanted more but he
ignored the tight ball of flesh that wanted all of his attention. His tongue
stroked her. Wet, slick glides everywhere but…there.

“Ready?”
His eyes looked with hers.

“God,
yes.”

His head
disappeared from her line of sight. She felt his breath, warm and quick against
her. It teased her mercilessly until his tongue hit her once more. With his
hands at her thighs, his mouth found her center. Intense sensations fed the
flames that burned through her and forced a cry to escape. He licked, he
suckled, and with a force she’d never experienced, she came. It was an
explosion of sensations that rippled through her and stole the air from her
lungs. Without hesitation, he was on top of her. She called out to him as he
entered her with a gentleness so exquisite, she thought her body would shatter
into a million pieces.

Rachel woke
with a start. Beside her, Gabriel was gently talking to her.

“Beauty?”

What had
awakened her? Her brain kicked in. She had been dreaming. Dreaming of the sweet
love she and Gabriel had made in this bed before surrendering to exhaustion.

“Hey.” She
smiled at him.

“I think you
were dreaming,” he spoke softly.

“I was. I
was dreaming about you. Making love last night.”
