“When I knew you loved me but I had to wait until you figured it out?  Do you know what that was like?”  His mouth was talking right over where she wanted it.

“Please, Mike,” she begged.

“No.  You’re about to get punished for those thirteen days.  And you’re gonna take whatever I give you.  When I tell you to come, you come.  When I tell you to scream, you scream,” he said, his voice sounding like velvet over sandpaper.  “When I tell you to wait, you wait.”

He bit down gently on the spongy nub at the top of her sex and sucked slowly, lapping his tongue over all of her.  She let out a keening sound and pushed her hips up.

It felt so good.

He pulled back.  “And right now, you’re gonna wait.  Just like I had to wait.  Don’t you fuckin’ come, Em.  I’m serious.”  He rubbed his nose into her and licked her from her opening to her clit.

A sound came from the back of her throat.  God, he was killing her.  She didn’t think she could wait.  She clenched her teeth to gain control.

“You know what I did every night?”  He tongued her again. “I thought of your eyes, your tits.  And then I’d jerk off.”  He bit down at the crease in her leg and sucked.

He was so close to where she wanted him.  Her skin felt like it was on fire, like she was crawling out of it.  She needed him so badly that she bucked her hips up but he pulled back again.

“Mike,” she whimpered.

“You wanna beg me?” She could hear the smile in his voice.

“No,” she growled.

“That’s my girl,” he murmured.  “Why’d you make me wait, Em?”  He flattened his tongue and swiped it over her nub.  His mouth was so warm and wet, the roughened part of his tongue causing her stimulated clit to practically scream with sensation.

She was gasping for air by this point.  She wanted to tear at him, scream and claw and bite at him.  He was turning her into an animal.

“Maybe I’ll make you wait a minute for every day you made me wait.  That seems reasonable.”  He whispered his command.  “Don’t come.”  Then he put his entire mouth on her and swallowed her whole, sucking and nibbling her clit fully into his mouth.

She gasped and let out a high pitched moan.  She was sweating.  She wasn’t going to be able to stop herself.  She needed to come.

He pulled away and leaned back, completely removing his heat from her.  Her chest was rising and falling at rapid speed.  She was so close she thought she’d die while his fingers played with the skin on her outer legs, stroking from knee to thigh.  He spoke.

“Shh.  How does it feel to wait, Em?  Hmm?”  He kissed her knee.  “Can you feel the pain of waiting for something that is right there in front of you, something that you want desperately but it’s just out of reach?” His lips moved closer up her thigh.  “When you know you want to claim it as yours, but it’s just not
coming
to you.”

She looked at him.  He had been hurt but she’d been hurting too.

“I’m coming to you now, Mike,” she whispered.

She could tell by the sheen on his eyes, he was being hit by emotion.  “Yes, you are,” he whispered back, the air electric between them.

“I’m sorry I made you wait,” she said quietly.  “I’m sorry if I hurt you.  I was hurting, too.  I don’t want us to wait anymore.
I
don’t wanna wait anymore.  I love you.”

He let out a tortured sound while saying, “I love you, Em.  God, I love you,” he said leaning forward and taking her in his mouth.  “No more waiting,” he said while he loved her with his lips, his teeth, his tongue, bringing her back to the brink quickly by skimming his hands up to toy with her nipples and nuzzling her pussy.  “So beautiful,” he whispered against her.  “Come for me, Em.  Come on, baby.”

There was no more waiting, no more hurt.  Only love.  And as he covered her with his mouth he took her to a place she’d never been before.  She was finally experiencing that sacrifice she’d wondered the existence of...from a man to a woman he loved.  She saw the sacrifice he’d made to wait; for her and to give her time until the truth was revealed to her.  She was overcome by love for him and it was that feeling that pushed her over the edge.

The climax took her slowly like a banked fire that had lay smoldering, waiting for the wind to kick up so it could be pushed into a full blaze again.  Just as it built, so did the sounds coming from her, until she hit a full scream as he devoured her with his mouth.  She bucked into him over and over, and eventually fell back down to the sofa gulping for air.

He moved quickly and surged into her, not allowing her any time to recover.

“I want your hands on me,” he said as he kissed her neck.

She moved her hands from underneath her and scraped her nails up his back then ended with them fisted in his hair.

“I love you,” she murmured.  “I’m so glad you waited for me.”

“Baby,” he said while moving inside her, “I would’ve waited forever, as long as I knew you were coming to me.  But I’m sure glad it was only thirteen days.”

“Get there, Mike.  Hurry,” she gasped as his smooth heat moved in and out of her body.
“Don’t wait any more.  Get there,” she urged.

He picked up speed
.  And got there.

Chapter 18

The rest of the day they did exactly what Mike had suggested.  They were lazy, ate bad food and laid around in bed watching movies and shows on Emily’s DVR.  Cuddling in bed together, they touched, kissed and basically enjoyed each other’s company.

“We’ve never talked about your parents,” Mike said in between the shows they watched.

“What do you wanna know?”

“Names, occupations, do you get along with them?  The general stuff.”  He couldn’t seem to keep his hands off her and pulled her so she was laying on top of him in the bed where they were watching TV.  He played with her hair as she spoke.

“Gary and Evie White.  Dad runs a construction firm specializing in rehabbing old buildings.  My cousin Mark, Jon’s brother, is an architect, and the two of them work on projects together sometimes.  My mom works for the county clerk’s office in Boston.  She met my dad through Uncle Ethan who met her back when he was a practicing attorney.”

“Cool.”

“They’re both great with very different personalities.”  She smiled.  “I’m an only child so they tend to dote on me at times but they’ve loosened the reins quite a bit in the last few years to let me find my own way.”

“How are their personalities different?”  He was settling in for the discussion and looked genuinely interested.

“Mom is meticulous about detail as is Dad.  But she differs in the sense that she tends to get uptight about things if they don’t go a certain way.  Nothing crazy, but we always joke with her about it.  She’s more the Type A personality, where my dad is much more relaxed.  He tends to be meticulous about work, always researching time periods so his rehabs are authentic, that kinda thing.  But when it comes to the car for instance, he doesn’t care if it needs an oil change and sometimes forgets to fill the gas tank.”  She shrugged with a smile.

“You get along with them?”

“Very much so.”

“You seemed really close with your aunt at the barbeque.”

“Yeah.  I’ve always gotten along with my parents, but Aunt April and I just get each other, if you know what I mean.  Both my family and April’s, we all lived within a few miles of each other so we were all pretty close.  Jon and Mark are more like brothers than cousins.”

He nodded.  “It’s nice that you can be near Jonathan.”

“It is.”  She paused.  “He told me what you said to him.”

“What’s that?” he asked innocently.

“That you were gonna come after me, basically.”

“Uh, huh.”  He pulled her up his body to bring her closer to his mouth so he could kiss her.  “What else did he say?”

“That he thought you were very interested.”  She gave him a soft kiss on his lips.

“He’s a perceptive guy.”  He kissed her back.

“Yes, he is.  A Hahvahrd man.”  She grinned.  “So how ’bout your parents.  I don’t even know what they do for a living.”

“Mom’s a graphic designer, Dad’s in marketing.  Mom and I butt heads sometimes, but nothing major.”  He smiled then shifted his body.  “I just remembered the phone message I left you.  I wanna hear it.”

She hopped off the bed to get her phone and then returned to play it for him.  She watched him closely while he listened.  He snuggled into her so his head was on her lap and then he closed his eyes. By the end of the message, they were both looking at each other trying to figure out what the other was thinking.

“That’s when you went looking for me?” he asked quietly.

She played with his hair and nodded.

“I’m glad you came.”

“Me too.”

They spent the remaining time simply touching.  Other than both of them taking a moment to text Lacey and her work, they headed right back to bed where they fell asleep and had the best night’s rest they’d both had in thirteen days.

……

Emily woke engulfed in warmth.  It was that content comfortable feeling that only comes once in a blue moon, when you don’t have a care in the world, your mind is quiet and at ease, and you feel blissfully complete.  She never wanted it to end.

Cuddling further into the sensation, she floated between unconsciousness and awareness.

I can’t take another day without seeing him.  I need to see him...

Her eyes flew open as she finally realized where she was and with whom she was snuggling. She slowly turned her head to notice Mike’s eyes looking down at her while he was wrapped around her from behind.  Her breath caught in her throat while her heart beat fast.

He’s here.  He’s really here.

“Hey there,” he murmured, his eyes twinkling.

“Hey.”

“You look surprised,” he smiled and brushed the hair from her face.

“I forgot you were here for a second.”  She turned her body to cuddle closer to him.  He reached for her leg and draped it over his body then stroked her back.  She purred, “You’re so warm.”

“I told you I’d always keep you warm.”

“You said that in the voice message,” she said sleepily.

“Yeah, but I said it before that.”

“When?” she said looking at him.

“The night you were drunk.  You can throw away your flannel pjs, baby.  You won’t need them anymore.”  His breath stirred the small hairs at her temple.

“I hope you still want me when winter comes around.  You’ll save me a fortune on my heating bill.”

“No worries there.  I’ll want you this winter and every winter after that for years to come,” he said in a serious tone.

She took a second to process that then said quietly, “That was a nice thing to say.”

He plowed his fingers into the hair at her scalp and pulled her head back so she would make eye contact with him.

“That had nothing to do with being nice and everything to do with being truthful.”

She swallowed nervously and tried to tamp down the euphoria coursing through her veins.

“What are you thinking?” he asked.

“Umm,” she stalled.

“Tell me exactly.  Just tell me honestly what you think when I say something like that.”

“Scared.”  Then she looked at him and could feel her face heating.  “And very, very happy.  But yet terrified to be this happy.”

“Good job,” he teased.  “See?  That wasn’t so hard.  Now tell me what terrifies you.”

She put her head back down on his chest and let out a breath.

“Thinking that it won’t last,” she whispered.

“We’re the ones who determine how long it lasts.”  He paused while he rubbed at her scalp.  “What if I told you I wanted it to last for a really, really long time?  How would you feel about that?”

She could feel the burning in her eyes and didn’t blink fast enough to stop the first tear before it squeezed out.

He must’ve felt it, because he swiped it away with his thumb.  “How would you feel about that, Em?” he repeated.

The butterflies were going crazy in her stomach as she swallowed down her emotion.  “I want it to last for a really, really long time, too.”

He shifted their bodies so that he was leaning over her, settling a thigh between her legs.  When he was finally above her, he nuzzled her neck with his nose and whispered in her ear, “You’re it for me, Em, I told you that.  I want us to wake up every morning and decide to make it last.  Whattaya say?”  He began to nibble and she started to lose focus.

“I like that idea.”

“Do you?” he murmured.  He shifted and then rubbed into her, just allowing their bodies to slide against one another.  It was nice to simply touch.  “I know I sound like a broken record, but I love touching you, hugging you, sexin’ you up,” he teased, nuzzling his face into her neck.

He shifted again, removing his thigh from between her legs.  Then he directed her so that her legs were both wrapped around one of his hips and she was twisted at the waist.  Almost immediately, he nestled up to her allowing her to feel his erection. Before either of them said anything else, he slowly pushed into her.
